Other Content Hidetaro Kaneda's Battleship

This is a late 1910s battleship based on Tzoli's illustration for a battleship that would be a modified Kii (particularly the E variant that uses an A-X-Y gun battery layout) sized to equip twelve 48 centimeter guns, proposed by Hidetaro Kaneda during a discussion with Yuzuru Hiraga on whether quad turrets are a good idea for future battleships at the time, though my version differs quite a bit in overall design and technical details. Placing it roughly in the same wartime configuration as with other japanese warships after the 1930s.

This battleship would displace around 68,000 standard tons (its full load would be higher), have an overall length of 302 meters, a beam of 44 meters, a draft of up to 11.5 meters and a freeboard of up to 5.5 meters. Its armor scheme would consist of a belt with a thickness between 356-305 millimeters and a deck with a thickness of 152-76 millimeters (depending on location), the superstructure would have a thickness of 25 millimeters and conning tower would be 380 millimeters. It would also have a maximum speed of 28 knots using a 200,000 shp powerplant driving six screws, it's maneuverability would be somewhat similar to Kii but more sluggish.

It's armament includes 12 x 48 cm/45 5th Year Type, 16 x 14 cm/50 3rd Year Type, 20 x 10 cm/65 Type 98, 32 x 4 cm Type 5 and 32 x 2.5 cm Type 96. It includes much of the hardware and equipment featured on the Yamato, with the inclusion of Type 13, Type 21 and Type 22 radars. I've also taken the liberty of adding navalized Type 2 Mark 4 Model 2 (a japanese copy of the SRC-268) sets as well. It is equipped with a catapult and stowable crane, and can carry one floatplane.

It might play like Zieten or Königsberg (but without the benefit of torpedoes or speed), though I don't know what kind of gameplay you can expect from this ship, tbh.

Yamato for scale in the 4th image.

Credits to Tzoli for the original illustration and technical documentation.

Anime "Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination" needs to be removed from some ships

And I'm going to say "Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination" a LOT so you can remember how fucking stupid it is

Every ship that has the OPTION to take Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable over literally anything else in that slot needs to have the Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable REMOVED from that slot and it would be a buff to that ship

This goes for nearly every single cruiser with the Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable and hydro sharing the same slot, Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination is extremely weak and does almost nothing compared to hydro which gives much more utility, but for some reason some morons will opt to take Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination instead for whatever reason, and it's causing a lot of innocent teams to be griefed

One game we had just an Annapolis left, we were up on caps and the enemy only had a low HP destroyer and we were going to win, but because this Annapolis decided to sacrifice his hydro to equip the Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable, he managed to get devstriked by some tier 9 destroyer which would not have happened if he had hydro and we lost the game

In a ranked match I was playing in a Tennessee with a Baltimore next to me, some Asashio torps slipped by and normally a Baltimore in the situation would pop his hydro to help his team, but because he's such a genius and equipped Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination instead, he wasn't able to and I ended up eating 2 Asashio torps to the bow that ended up losing the game in the end which I would otherwise have dodged if he had Hydro

And there's way more people running this garbage Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable than you'd think, I've seen Petros, Zaos, even Hindenburgs with their improved hydro not taking a hydro because they wanted to take Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination instead, even a fucking Monaghan who decided to not take Torpedo Reload Booster because he wanted Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination that badly even though it doesn't do shit

Don't even get me started on the morons in their Prinz Adalberts who will give up their 6km hydros because they're tempted by 10% secondary damage for 30 seconds 3 times a game

Sure it's just a humungous skill issue on everyone taking it, but with these kinds of things you have to consider that sometimes you're the one forced to share a flank with a Loyang who decided he didn't want his hydro-smoke DD to have a hydro and decided to take Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination instead and ends up getting torped to death in his smoke in the first 2 minutes, do you enjoy being on that flank, do you enjoy when you eat torps because a teammate doesn't have the hydro they're meant to, do you enjoy when your team throws an endgame due to not having a hydro that could have make a big impact

Back in the day you made fun of people for running DFAA instead of hydro but maybe they were just having a bad day with carriers and needed some MM carrier repellant, but these days with this useless Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination consumable, there is no such excuse because it's USELESS and WG would be doing all these ships a favor by just removing it as an option, or putting it in a separate slot if they insist on the persistence of the useless, garbage, abhorrent Auxiliary and Torpedo Weaponry Coordination

Ended up 1 vs 2 in the end. Killed the Mogami with a citadel and a blind shot, which required me to turn and put all my turrets on target, but then the Duncan came from around the left side island and caught me broadside. 10 seconds later and I would have been angled and go for the Kraken... Meh. ;). Enemy team had 3 2000+BXP results, GG. Anyway, was farming credits with OG Missouri so, at least that worked.

Question I always just pick the coal for containers should I be Trying my luck instead?

Just a question from a noob. I've only bought one coal ship and got one more from crates. I don't really use the flags often and you get those small boosters anyway as alternate rewards. So I figured it's just good to do coal most of the time and try my luck on the second or third daily crate. Am I doing it wrong?

Question Tips for Japanese CVs?

Post image
• Upvotes

I've been playing this game on and off for 5 years (as of last week) and have, that entire time, been playing the Japanese CV line. I've heard it's one of the hardest lines to play well, so I was wondering if any more experienced captains can help me out?
P.S. As indicated by the image, I am currently on the Shokaku, and fairly recently too. If that makes a difference in the playstyle.

Thank you!

Question Advice for someone who has just unlocked their first aircraft carrier

I haven’t tried aircraft carrier before, I’ve just unlocked the tier 4 Japanese carrier, does anyone have any advice? Also what is engine boost? I have multiple skills and a consumable to improve engine boost but I can’t see what engine boost actually is or how to trigger it?

Discussion What makes this game fun for you?

Hi, I'm making a YouTube Video about why War Thunder Naval is not fun and what World of Warships does better that makes it actually fun. But I'm having difficulty actually pinning down what makes WOWS more fun. I've made a similar post on the War Thunder subreddit asking what makes Naval not fun for them.

Now, I want to see what makes WOWS fun for you? Please keep answers concise, don't make like a 4 paragraph essay about it, just a paragraph will do.

Question Grozovoi

How is grozovoi currently? I recentky returned to wows, came back to my favourite boat from back then and found it super hard.

Light cruisers everywhere and dds with better stealth and dpm everywhere.

Is it just me being rusty or did it get powercrept and left behind in the meta?

Discussion Is the BB class the most influential class in the game?

I always see comments on this sub saying that BBs are the most broken ships or that the game is hand holding the BB class and that really got me thinking about which class is the actual best class in the game.

Honestly I was under the impression that DDs and CVs were the most influential classes in the game and CA/CL being the least influential but what do you guys think?

Question Combat Order type?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Playing on the test server I and saw that I've actually completed 2/10 of "Combat Order" type missions (even though its placed in the "Recruitment" section and I play alone.

What are "Combat Order" type missions exactly?
How can I find out which missions/tasks count for this?

And the million dollar question: why is this information readily available in the game?

Question grinding libertad. lisboa only in containers?

I am prob a semi-experienced noob. I also try to avoid paying for things as much as I can. Most recently I ground the Schlieffen as my very first tier 10 ship. Along the way I saved up coal and got Lutjens, my first unique commander. Now I have a bug to get Libertad, along with Lisboa, but Lisboa only seems available in containers?? I've never bought any 'premium' containers, nor completed any 'collections'. Is Lutjens only available in containers? Will he be available any other way in the future? How do these f*ing premium containers work and how is this collection completed? I can see it will take cash to complete the collection, is there any idea on how much that comes out to? As you can see I know just enough to not know a whole lot about some of the mechanics in this crazy game. wtf with the wacked learning curve in wows??
