Boots Buying Help Should I exchange these?
Just got these thorogoods, brand new out of box and the sides and top have this wrinkle on them. What's this from? Should exchange them? Or is this normal

In desperate need for women's work boots (size 8-8.5) for the winter months; weather is muddy, wet/floody, and cold. I work with water and chemicals in cold, remote desert terrain. Most women's boots are BS; I need something hardy that will last at least a season!
Looking for:
•at least 8" tall
•waterproof/ heavily water resistant(quick dry)
•warm
•comp/steel toe
•grippy sole, no "heel" if possible
•comfortable for 8-10+ hours in unpredictable terrain (mud, ice/snow, rocky, sandy, cacti)
•not too heavy/stiff
•comes in wide sizes if possible

I do solar installations in Michigan and we still do installs throughout the winter, any recommendations for work boots that will be good?

Ended up getting myself these new work boots and want to know about care tips to make them last longer. Do i need to do anything before wearing them to work?

Comparing my First Pair of Thorgoods (darker pair) to my current pair (lighter pair). I’ve been thinking about getting slip-ons, normally a size 11.5 but for some reason these ones felt a little longer. Compared them to my first pair and they definitely are different. Weird 🧐🤨

So I’ve been running hard yakka 3056’s for a few years after a recommendation from a friend. Good price point. Comfort was above board. Longevity was ok.
These books look casual not sneaker casual but casual enough to wear on a daily basis to virtually anywhere. (I used these at dinners funerals weddings concerts and of course work). I’ve been advised by multiple people QC has dropped even further. And I need to buy a new pair of boots in the next couple of days.
Need recommendations
Must have a side zipper!
And available in Australia.
Comfort/appearance is priority
Cheers.

I need waterproof winter boots with these ratings for work they also need to be 99% black; should I buy these, I don’t have a-lot of spending money in case they suck.
Please help me 🙏🏽

Do I just stop checking reviews, I’m going into the trucking industry and need a do everything boot. I hear redwings are trash now, danners fall apart, keens cheap but may get lucky. Nicks a lot of money. Cheap rockroosters the best out of everything some are crap. Thorogoods falling apart every second. There may be days for my work that I have to walk 6 miles I guess with abuse there all gonna fall apart

Hello all, got a pair of ariat rebars for work back in February, they are basically destroyed as we speak (fiberglass has gone through the whole bottom of the shoe, im basically breaking into my sole as we speak)
Never had a pair of boots last only 7ish months. Can usually get a year and maybe a couple of months extra out of them but being on fiberglass flooring a majority of my day is new to me, and destroying my boots...
Anyways, anyone have any recommendations for boots that can last a year on fiberglass floors, comp toe preference (i work with 277/480 wiring) and are slip ons (Chelsea style, helps with putting on and taking off my arc flash suit) thank you! Budget is around $200, maybe go up to $300

The insoles on my thorogood moc toe’s are flat. All recommendations are welcome and appreciated!
I was thinking about replacing them with the same ones but I was wondering if there’s something better out there.

Bought two new pairs of boots this week. I tend to treat my boots with hubbards boot grease and after a few days a layer of beeswax, then let them cure for a few more days before wearing. My job is very dusty and I also do a lot of welding. This has worked for me but I’m looking for suggestions on how other people care for their boots. When I do re grease after about 2 months I clean with saddle soap and repeat same treatment.

I have a pair of Danner Quarry very quality boot. I’ve been wearing Danners since ems days. In blue collar now. Wondering what is another boot without the gortex. Looking for another waterproof boot like I said without the liner.

I start a new job in over a month, and need a pair of boots that have safety toe, but are going to be good for Minnesota winters and snowy terrain. Some sort of insulation would also be nice to have but can’t find anything with a safety toe as well. Looking to see if there’s someone with recommendations to look into

I’m doing HVAC and love my thorogood American heritage steel toes. Only issue is last winter I was busting my rear on the snow just about everyday. Anyone have a recommendation that’s a comparable comfort and price but better grip in the snow? Steel toe not a must but is preferred

I made a post a while ago showing boots with tuff toe, kg boot guard, and rubberized toe cap. I've since top coated the kg boots with tuff toe, and the other ones are going strong. Protect the boots that protect your feet, and you'll keep them going for longer. Pics happened to focus on mushrooms of crane mat growth in four day period, but feet pics are feet pics. Edit: guys and gals. Everybody works.

Well the new boots came in, time to trash these ole boys.
If I had put some tuff toe I probably could’ve gotten a bit longer on em. But oh well, bought basically new ones eBay for $68, money well spent. Got almost 6 months out of them (23 weeks).
Super comfortable boot though, would not purchase again. At least not at full price ever. Also no I don’t go around kickin sh*t haha. If I did try and kick something that met guard hurt the heck out of my big toe.

I’ve had a lot of work boots, never wore eyelets out like on these Redwings. Hopefully this fix will last.

So I'm on my feet all day and I'm trying to find good steel toes that both protect my feet, and actually keep them functioning since I'm walking all day, looking for some good recommendations

I’m in Canada. Basically every single boot I’ve tried - many redwings and Irish setters, Canada west, my left foot big toe seems to run into the steel toe cap (which I need) because my feet are very Egyptian and my big toe has no room. Sizing up does not not seem to fix this problem, and just leaves my feet swimming around everywhere, and heel lift.
I’ve been trying to find something with a wedge sole too, because I’ve read they’re more comfortable on concrete? I wouldn’t know because I haven’t been able to find anything that fits to try.
Any suggestions?

Do we have any Carman in here? Especially those in large yards with lots of walking. What boots y’all got?
About 3 months into a pair of Keen Cincinnati’s, which I love to death. Unfortunately with inspecting and walking 10-15 miles a day in one of NS largest yards, I’m already wearing thru the soles.
Bonus points if it’s a NS boot allowance boot, but really just looking for something that lasts.
Thanks!

Got my Nicks Hardware Pros last night!
First impressions: BEAUTIFUL boots. The quality of materials & build are outstanding. I first put em on & was a little afraid of how they’d break in because of how tough & thick the leather is. But after wearing them for a little bit they really are comfortable. I can’t wait for them to be fully broken in. Couldn’t be more happy with my purchase as of now

I quit using these Redwing 2414’s once the soles wore down and had to pick up a different pair, so these have been sitting around.
Are they worth sending off to redwing and having them reconditioned & resoled?
If so, which soles would you recommend?
