Just curious which one you enjoy more. I just finished my first playthrough of windwaker earlier this week from the Nintendo Classics GameCube version. I personally liked the earth temple wayyy more than the wind temple. I really liked the mirror puzzles and hated the sometimes janky wind physics of the wind temple.

There's dolphin, a very mature emulator, the various recomps this and that. Some target mac, some target android, which to choose? Some bring HD improvements to the gamecube variant too.
Which to choose? Which runs the best? My hardware is rather weak.

This time around I'm taking a look at one of the few games to get a 40/40 review score from Famitsu and diving into the controversy around the perception of the game before it was in player's hands.
I'm gathering suggestions for the next 5 games from my backlog to play.

Hey guys Iāve accidentally done the ābacksliceā (thatās what the move is called in TP anyways) a couple of times during combat, but I donāt know how to repeat it

Me (28f) and my brother (31m) have been playing WW our whole lives (basically.) We always have the wind waker equipped to the Z slot, no matter what. Instead of having a third, potentially more useful item in that spot, itās always the wind waker. For some reason, along the way, we felt it was sacrilegious to do anything else. Anyone else in the same, odd boat?
*Bonus points if you felt the same way about the ocarina

iāve done 23 runs on wind waker HD and another 8 on the original gamecube version. i still love replaying it, and i recently completed the entire nintendo gallery for the first time.
so yeah. iām talking actual playthroughs, not speedrun attempts or resets. anyone else replay this game an unreasonable number of times? š

That little kid Zill on Outset Island who follows you around with his little ādokdokdokdokā noises and the snot flying out of his nose!!! So silly, but that cracks me up everytime and I also feel a little imitated by his snot trail! hahaha.

Ive only seen like two decent ones on Gamebanana but I have no idea where else to look.
Was curious if wind waker hd had any other model swapping available besides what's on that site. Or if anyone knew of any

Did some modicum of time pass between Link killing Ganondorf?
The bird kid that greets them looks much older than the one from before.
I couldn't get a sufficient answer from Google and I don't really like using AI anyway.
Was that the same bird?

I do not remember Wind Waker being this hard when I played it on GameCube back in high school?
I use my hands daily in my profession and in med school one of our professors even encouraged us to play video games (in moderation) to build up dexterity, strength, etc.
I've been playing for a month and finally got to the end.
The other forms were so much easier and I get that they make it that way on purpose.
But even if you do hit him in the face with the master sword and he stops for half a second, you can't get the light arrows, or I CAN'T get the light arrows to focus on his tail butt.
Am I missing something?
Edit: it really is this bad on the Switch 2. The controls are terrible. I've beaten puppet Ganon and now I'm trying to beat the final Ganondorf after Zelda wakes up but she keeps hitting me with the light arrows.
How did we do this as kids?
As soon as I manage to correctly deflect and arrow, he's recovered by the time I can hit him.

Playing Wind Waker for the first time rn(on original hardware), and I have been exploring the world since the tetra reveal. I also played BotW and beat that game (not 100% completion). And this might be sacrilegious to say, but despite not having beaten the game yet, Iād say Wind Waker has the better designed open world, or at least it has better open world rewards.
BotW is indeed beautiful, with gorgeous landscapes and physics systems that make regions not only have character, but a challenge in survival at times. But one of my biggest issues with the game is that many of the rewards I receive for exploring feel less than satisfying after the first 10 times I receive the same reward, be it a korok seed, a weapon that might be weaker than what I have or will will easily break, a shrine puzzle or some materials.
Whereas with Wind Waker, if I explore around a random island, what I might find could be in the form of a treasure chart, rupees to use for tingle or beedle, a piece of heart, a character who could be useful at some point as a merchant or part of a side quest, or a unique item like an empty bottle, or even a fairy fountain. I feel sufficiently rewarded for exploring different parts of the ocean. It also helps that there arenāt the hundreds of items to collect like in the Wild era games, and they also arenāt locked behind the same activities over and over again.
So while BotW and TotK may have more beautiful and varied open worlds, I find myself more interested in exploring wind waker and feeling like Iām rewarded more for exploring the islands rather than getting an Amber/opal in a enemy camp chest or a korok seed for the umpteenth time. Echoes of Wisdom felt similarly rewarding to Wind Waker with its world design despite being able to go anywhere. If Zelda insists on continuing open world design in their future games, Iād rather them take inspiration from Wind Waker over BotW/Totk. Did anyone else feel this way?

I'm nearing the end of my Windwaker HD playthrough, and while I usually am a completionist, there are some things I just do not want to do.
I've done
-All heart pieces
-All treasure charts
-Savage labyrinth/Heroes Charm
-Most of the story ( of course)
-Got all items in the auction
-Both beedle VIP tickets
So I'm asking, are there some things you do every playthrough/ is there something you think I still should do before ending the game ?

I have gotten every figurine in this game all 130 something (except Knuckle, no gameboy) and it was tedious but fun lol. This might be my biggest Zelda achievement thus far and definitely the most difficult Zelda Iāve had to 100%. I can definitely call myself a true Zelda fan after this š.

I'm at a loss of what to do. I don't want to consult a guide because the answer is probably so obvious that it's probably the only thing I haven't tried, but was it hard for any of you to figure it out?
