Any thoughts? Any friendly advice is appreciated. I like the darker one but I don't usually wear bright colors. Would it be better with black boots and belt? I have both brown and black but I like my brown ones the best.

Highly recomend Addicted Bespoken if you're in search of a custom suit! Fast and quality work! The tailor I used for alterations after i got it was quite impressed by the quality as well.

Only complaint i had was they didnt leave enough material to lengthen the pants, but that was pretty minor! Just double check your measurements.

Starched my Levi’s 501s and ended up with these blotchy results, what went wrong?

Post image

I recently tried starching my Levi’s 501 jeans for the first time. Unfortunately, they ended up looking very blotchy and uneven (see photo).

Here’s what I did:

- Mixed cornstarch (Maizena) with tap water.

- Applied the starch solution using a spray bottle.

- Ironed the jeans at a high temperature, with a pressing cloth between the iron and the denim.

- Also pressed the legs using a press, again with a cloth in between.

The result is a lot of uneven, cloudy-looking patches across the denim, rather than a consistent finish.

What do you think went wrong?

- Did I apply the starch unevenly?

- Was my starch-to-water ratio incorrect?

- Did I use too much heat, or perhaps not enough?

- Could the tap water or the cornstarch itself be causing this?

I’d appreciate any advice from people who have experience with starched denim.

Should I wash these and start over, or is there a way to fix the finish without starting from scratch?

I really like the fit , but 4 out of 5 jeans i bought ripped from the back pocket , same spot , and or the crouch area, those ripped on the third wear and didn’t wear them for work or any crazy activities . They were my going out jeans. Any recommendations for same fit and feel ?

Is there a fishing vest that actually looks decent with cowboy boots?

I have this old Columbia fishing vest I wear from the boat ramp to the grocery store. Pockets full of lures. Snagged three of my kids with treble hooks last summer alone. My wife finally said if I'm wearing western boots and hats, I should at least look like I planned the outfit instead of just surviving in the woods. I'm 38 and still dressing like I did at 22.

I want one piece that bridges my two lives. Something with pockets for trail maps and a spare spinnerbait, but clean enough she doesn't hide when we walk into a restaurant in Tuscaloosa. I've been eyeing those waxed canvas vests, Filson style, but worry I'll cook alive in Alabama humidity. Anyone run a vest that works for bass fishing at dawn and doesn't look ridiculous with a pearl snap and boots? Or is this a pipe dream and I should just keep two setups like my boots.

I'm hard on gear and cheap by nature. Bad combination. Ruined a nice canvas bag by leaving it in the truck bed during a rainstorm. Learned that lesson. Need something that forgives my stupidity.

An evening out in the UK

We were snapped at an evening out in the UK at a charity event. I am a daily hat wearer, boots and buckles too, but tend to wear an Open Road most days, breaking out the bigger hats for social occasions like this. And one for the Brits on here, I wasn’t the only one in a hat that evening! Not common over here but always a pleasure to see another hat out in the wild.

Experiences with Cinch jeans?

Wondering if they tend to run small or have changed their sizing recently… I’ve had a pair of Cinch green label jeans for around 5 years now and they are my absolute favorite. They’re totally busted though so I ordered a new pair online, same size (29x30) and they’re so small! Not just need to break them in small, I’m talking they have to rest up past my belly button to fit around me at all. All my other jeans are the same waist size as well so I know I don’t need to size up. Anyone else experience this? Am I crazy?😅
