As she approaches 80, my mom is trying to declutter. She asked me today if I wanted this, and I said “hell, yes.” This was acquired on Bourbon St in the 1970’s (I believe). I greatly feared this as a small child, but later found it quite amusing, as it reminded me of the fertility idol from Temple of Doom.

On the surface, it might not seem that weird, but I have never received a piece of mail addressed to him before. He died years before I ever moved to this address. He has never lived in this address. He has never even lived in this state!
It's from an assisted living and memory care facility, and I can see through the envelope that it's inviting him to some event. Notably, it's not addressed to me, nor is it addressed to my other parent, who is still alive. I genuinely can't understand how or why this happened after all this time.
Edit to add: I'm not saying it's inherently weird to get mail for dead people. Easily 80%+ of the mail I get is for the dead person who lived here just prior to us. What is weird is that I haven't lived with my parents since I was 18. My dad wasn't on any accounts with me or anything like that. I have lived in easily 10 different addresses in 4 different states all across the country over the past 17 years, and I have never once gotten a piece of mail addressed to him until today. He also happens to have died 11 years ago.

Working at a home that was built in the 1700’s. We are adding French drains so we’ve been digging trenches around the house and we found these odd little things in the thousands all around the house. Any idea what they are?

From what I could gather they believe the world is ran by people who are descended from evil biblical giants and to stop their reign of terror you should join their organisation

I thought I'd post this due to how random and hilarious it was, I ended up keeping it because that's a once in a lifetime joke LOL. You may think I'm joking but I'm not.

This person Poo Bingus commented on my friends video. He has no videos and only posts about this Billy Flesh. Its just weird and strange the Billy Flesh stuff. It might be a metaphor for Drugs, but I might be overthinking it.

One of the first videos i ever saw on youtube, back in 2006, i couldn't stop laughing for 30 minutes straight, and kept me laughing up to this day ^^ His videos and reactions are just gold, the most honest, genuine and raw game reviewer out there .. some of his comments and sounds are the most weirdly hilarious things ever ^^ All his videos are on that video host's channel - jedite deleted all his videos, just heartbreaking ^^

Still don’t know what it was. yeah, sorry about the shaky hands, but literally it was fire floating around. It didn’t make any sense, and I thought maybe of the lantern thing, but I actually didn’t see anything burning. It was just like a flame in the sky

Ever since I rescued her, her nail has grown sideways like this. Usually it falls off before it gets this long so this is the first time I've ever actually seen that it has a weird texture
Edit: I wanted to add an edit here because I did explain a bit in the comments but it seems to have been buried.
When I say this dog is a rescue, I MEAN IT. I knew her previous owners and I know that they used to physically abuse her-- her paws being stepped on being chief among the abusive acts. So she suffers from PTSD, and I cannot get near her feet to trim her nails because she will bite me. We were working on desensitization, but we didn't make much progress, and I've decided to leave it be. We walk a lot, and that keeps the rest of her nails sufficiently trimmed.
I never needed to cut this thing before, and I appreciate the warnings from people who suggest that it may be a genetic or pathogenic deformity, and to not cut it. I am taking her to the vet within the week to have it looked at.
Everyone telling me I'm not taking good enough care of my dog because I don't trim her nails needs to chill out lmao people used to smash her paws and I'm not gonna fking touch them if she doesn't want them touched.
She also used to be hit and yelled at and had rocks thrown at her and had her tail pulled. My poor baby has been through so much. I think it's acceptable for me to just let her have this one thing that I don't "work on". I think we often forget that while yes, it's important for dogs to be properly trained, they aren't little robots. They have personality quirks and preferences. Not everything out of the ordinary (like not liking to have one's paws touched) needs to be trained or desensitized out. I am willing to take her to a vet for twilight sleep or whatever but as it stands I'm just not putting her through any more touch that hurts or scares her.
