Prospective BSCS student: Grad school options after WGU? (US Universities + UK/Europe acceptance)
Hi everyone,
I’m currently considering enrolling in the BS in Computer Science program at WGU. My long-term goal is to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science right after graduation.
Before making my final decision and enrolling, I want to clarify a few things regarding grad school admissions and international degree recognition:
US Master’s Programs: Which universities have you or people you know successfully gotten into after completing the BSCS at WGU? (I’m aware Georgia Tech's OMSCS is a common path, but I'm curious about other programs like UT Austin, UIUC, or state universities.)
Europe / UK Acceptance: Is a WGU degree well-
recognized abroad, specifically in the UK or EU countries like Spain? Has anyone successfully gotten accepted into a European master’s program, or did you encounter issues with bureaucracy, the competency-based model, or ECTS equivalency?
Pass/Fail (3.0 GPA) Impact: Did the fixed 3.0 GPA (Pass/Fail) transcript limit your choices or cause hurdles during grad school admissions, especially for competitive or traditional on-campus programs?
WGU vs. Traditional University: Given my goal of earning an MS in CS (and possibly working or studying abroad in the future), is WGU a solid and safe choice, or would attending a traditional brick-and-mortar university be a better route?
I’d really appreciate any insights, personal experiences, or advice from current students and alumni. Thanks in advance!

Help! I Cannot for the life of me pass D217 Accounting Information Systems. Help needed!
Some context, I have breezed through every course so far, only had to retake one test but for the life of me I cannot pass the OA for D217. I am convinced the test is made for you to retake it multiple times and there is a ton of luck involved.
I am an advanced reader and I have experience in the accounting field. Yet, NONE OF IT MAKES ANY SENSE on the OA.
I passed the PA with exemplary on the first try.
I have put so much information into chatGPT and Gemini and told it to quiz me many times and to make it hard. I have studied every single section extensively and found so many ways to apply each concept. But the way the OA is worded makes absolutely no sense and everything that you know about a concept goes right out the window in the OA. Does anyone else notice that there's literally grammatical errors and misspelled words that litter the OA as well?
I seriously need some help and advice on this course because it is absolutely holding me back and I only have 14 days left in my term.

Business WGU Credit Transfer University
I'm finishing my Associate Degree at a Texas community college with 60 transferable credits. Since those are freshman and sophomore courses, they should transfer to WGU because of the Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS), which standardizes lower-division courses across Texas public colleges and universities.
My question is about junior year. In theory, could I take my 3000-level courses at WGU and then transfer to a Texas public university to finish my senior year? Has anyone transferred WGU credits into a Texas public university's business school? Did your upper-level courses count toward your major?
Education School re-admittance
Hello guys!!! I used to attend wgu back in 2023 and was dropped due to non payment! For context I was broke and was under the typical pressure of immigrant parents to get a degree which I couldn’t care less about at the time. I never told them I was dropped but that I was doing school part time while I figured out my life. With that said I’ve been out of the wgu sphere for a few years now and am wondering if there’s any degrees I can just speedrun and finish with 3-6 months. I’m moving back in with parents and really just want to get this degree so the can leave me the hell alone.. any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated

Law School
I would love to go to law school next year or the year after, however I need a bachelor's degree first.I am almost 30 so don't want to spend 4 years doing a bachelors. Any suggestions on which degree can take here? I have a lot of credits from previous colleges and a few from Sophia.
I know that the LSAT is what's important and I plan on studying for it as soon as I get a degree that will get me a step closer.
Thanks for any help.

Education Almost done!
I have 3 courses left and am so excited!
I do have a question. Once I am done I know I need to apply for graduation? Is it common to be denied??

The new chunky blanket is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🔥🔥🔥
Cause whew… baby… this is a whole weighted blanket, with superb softness and honestly you could buy a backpack or a hydro jug at any store, but this is one of a kind. This is like a $400 blanket. And I just thought the blue and white blanket from previous rewards was amazing. This blows it out of the water! I can’t be the only one shocked by the quality of this new blanket right!? 🫣😂

Business WGU PA - Similarity Checker Questions
While the similarity checker is down I’m torn between sending off my assignment or waiting for it to be up. I’ve looked into it and apparently this is the longest it’s been down in history. I’m scared about submitting and risking academic integrity violation even though it’s my own work. I often have to dumb down my papers which is why I would prefer to review it myself. I am in the BS for business, not an IT or coding related course so a lower similarity is generally necessary.
Anyhow: Grammarly scored me at 1% plagiarism (once the task statements my class made me keep in where dismissed) & 3% AI.
My question is: How much of a difference have you noticed between grammarly and similarity results? Should I not be scared about similarity being down and submit anyway based on my grammarly results?
Thank you🙏
Is it worth it? Anyone here transition from a self-taught/bootcamp Software Engineer to Finance through WGU? How did it work out?
Hey everyone,
I'm 34 and currently planning to start WGU's B.S. in Finance in January 2027. I'm curious if anyone here has made a similar career change and what your experience has been like.
A little background about me:
- I have 4+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, primarily working with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, APIs, and other web technologies.
- I'm self-taught and attended a coding bootcamp, but I don't have a bachelor's degree.
- With the current state of the software engineering job market, I've been considering a career change.
- Finance has genuinely caught my interest, especially FP&A, financial analysis, and eventually moving into finance leadership.
- I'm currently completing Sophia courses to transfer into WGU and hope to finish the Finance degree within two terms (12 months).
I'm not necessarily trying to leave my technical background behind. Ideally, I'd like to leverage my software engineering experience alongside a Finance degree, possibly in FP&A, financial systems, or a similar role.
For anyone who has made this transition, I'd love to hear:
- Were you able to find a finance job before or shortly after graduating?
- Did your software engineering experience help you land interviews or negotiate a better salary?
- What was your first finance role, and what was the starting salary?
- Did employers view your WGU Finance degree positively?
- Looking back, was the career change worth it, or do you wish you'd stayed in software engineering?
I'd also appreciate hearing from anyone who graduated from WGU's Finance program, even if you came from a different background.
I'm trying to set realistic expectations about salary, job opportunities, and long-term career growth before committing to this path.
Thanks in advance!

D388 Fundamentals of spreadsheets and data presentations
The class its self isn’t the issue. I had zero knowledge of Excel going into the class. All I did was watch the videos and follow along in Excel, skipped all the reading and did all the quizzes and tests, making sure I scored at least 88/89%. At the end I felt confident enough to take the OA without taking the pretest.
The technical issues about did me in on the OA. I got kicked out of the test twice midway through. Had to restart 3 times. Luckily on the third time it had somehow saved my work. The proctor was awful at communicating. Just don’t be like me and sit down to take this at 9:30 PM the night before you have to work at 7 am.
I ended up getting exemplary in all areas, so the method worked. Just give yourself extra time for technical issues.

Business OA Testing
Has anyone ever used their local library to take their OA exams? Our library has rooms you can reserve. I’m due for my first exam soon, and think I might be better off there than trying to get everyone at home to be quiet and leave me alone. Just curious!
