Been living here almost 8 years now, only ever went to/looked into sinkland. Got some recommendations from friends for places within an hour radius, but want to see if anyone here has any suggestions for fun patches in that same radius.
Love sinkland, but after 10+ times going it's gotten a bit stale for me, just want to see what folks know of other places.

i need honest advice, how hard is it really to get into vt test optional? i’ve taken the sat twice now and it just got worse the second time. i made a 1280 the first time which i know is bad for vt. i know that submitting these scores will only hurt me, but ive also heard it’s really hard to get into tech without submitting scores. as far as other stats go, i wont go into detail but i have a 4.38 W and 4.00 UW gpa & several extracurriculars with leadership roles in all of them. i’m applying as a music major. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone been false positive honor coded? I’ve been dealing with case and I’m confused where to even proceed, as the faculty initially wanted to do a FSR, but hasn’t been responding, and honor panel hearing is soon. I have evidence and witnesses and know honest to God I am innocent. I heard people hire lawyers but I don’t have the funds. What do I really do from here? Is there any chance I really do get this on my record even though I’m innocent?
Edit: I allegedly cheated on an online exam because I solved the problems that only “ai can solve because it is not an undergrad level question.” I have screenshots of me participating in higher level education, he should have logs of me not switching out of browser, I forget what else I submitted but I had a whole bunch of evidence submitted to him for my FSR, but he gave no response. I also have my roommates as witnesses to my exam as I asked them to take my phone and be quiet during my exam to avoid any interruptions.

Hey,
So I recently transferred to Virginia Tech. Prior to coming down here I start playing tennis with my friends and started getting better and I was wondering if anyone knew how I could find people to play with since I'm not the best at the moment.

Hello! My partner and I are looking into some off-campus housing for the 2027-2028 year and we're kind of stuck between a few choices. I personally want something with a good amount of space since I'll be home all day taking online classes and my partner is pretty much okay with anything (as long as it's cheap lol) Our biggest contender is the ChaseWood apartments mainly because it's pretty good pricing but our second and third are the Foxridge and Shawnee (he doesn't like the no dish washer part though) spots. We love the area surrounding them and the rooms look good but we're also curious about electric and fees and stuff too. We really don't want to pay more than $650 a piece for rent but y'know.
If anyone has any other spots or details about the ones I listed I'd love to hear back!!!!

So I’m a freshman comm major and I am interested in writing sports in a club or group for VT. I haven’t found much as of now, but may be looking in wrong places. I wrote for my hs paper and a local newspaper on hs football, so I have some experience. Just wondering if that’s something I could pursue. Thank you!

I got a chicken hill parking lot pass, but it says only physical delivery. The game is on Saturday. Will overnight shipping get there in time? Will my receipt of parking work?

Hi everyone,
We recently moved to Blacksburg and I desperately need to find an exceptional feline veterinarian for my cat. He has feline leukemia (FeLV).
He currently has a specialist supervising his care back in our home country, but now that we are here, we need a highly qualified and trustworthy local professional to take over his regular check-ups, monitoring, and any urgent care.
Since his condition requires specific expertise, I would deeply appreciate recommendations for vets who are great with cats and, ideally, have experience managing FeLV or chronic feline illnesses.
Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hey everyone!
We are two rising juniors (a Business major and an Engineering major) looking for a third guy to fill the last bedroom in a 3 bed / 2 bath apartment at The Hub for the upcoming 2027–2028 academic year.
If you're interested, send me a DM with a little bit about yourself:

Richard Linton is currently president of Kansas State University. He will succeed Tim Sands, who announced in April that he would step down from Virginia Tech’s top job.

I was just sat here watching them a couple weeks ago! I’m so devastated. Anyone know what mechanical issue made this happen? 2001-2026 is such a long time. Some of these fish must’ve been so old :(

Poaching another R1's president seems like a good thing. I hope!?
Absurdly, this is a bit similar to hiring a football coach. Do you want someone with solid experience from a weaker school, or an up-and-coming elite assistant from a stronger school. K-State's president is clearly the former.
Let's hope it works out.
