A few days ago I created a tool on my website that allows you to enter your username or previous game ID and get a live recommendation for what to build. (you can find IDs in your match history!)
Umbral is good vs Shaco and enemies won't get any armor cuz team is full AP
It factors in things like:
Durability
Damage
Shields
Damage type
Setup/CC
Reset denial champs (like Zilean, Kindred, etc.)
Of course this is based on my own itembuilds, so if you don't like my builds this isn't for you. But if you checked out my guide, but weren't sure when to build what, this build-picker will tell you what I would've built in your shoes!
I use it myself so that I don't have to think about itemization when playing 😭 it's actually extremely accurate and I'll refine it a bit more & update it when the build changes next patch (and for coming patches)
Felt proud off my accomplishment, started playing league a year ago during summer, played a bit with my friend and got to bronze then mostly played aram getting familiar with the characters
Then some dude in aram was shit talking me cause i was bronze while he was emerald and how i could never reach anything close to his rank, im a petty person and that set off a switch in me and got me to start on my grind
Hit plat 4 during january off this year and after the season restarted i found myself really loving viego
The first goal was to reach diamond 4 but after reaching it it felt good but i still didnt feel like thats my peak, there were many ups and downs during the games in emerald and diamond, from d2 60 lp all the way back down to em 1 and now finally grinding it all the way to masters
Shoutout to Mino btw, his tips and builds really made me take my viego skills to the next level, if anyone else needs some help or tips id gladly help, thank you all!
As I play league more and more ever since months ago I've learnt to adore Viego as a laner especially mid, as he was a nice choice back then and still viable now, his strengths and weaknesses are clear and I know I could climb in the high ranks if I were to really grind competitive
This guide I aim to teach and learn more about him as a laner pick and create a repository of tips and tricks that can be applied from playing him and the lane. As a former fighting game player it has been a treat trying to dissect all the matchups and mechanics of everything
This is a item set below I created for the various items he can build niche or not everything I have here has a use and situation where it can shine. Now about the runes I use it's not much different
I run conq if into two or more tanks/bruisers that is hard to navigate around. For the secondary tree on that I run resolve second wind or bone plating depending on the matchup, that being ppl who poke alot or chain moves into one another. Overgrowth for health, revitalized for healing/sustain, and unflinching for the clutch armor/magic resist for trades
Other precision runes I consider are PTA for short trades or fleet footwork into high poke matchups
I take absorb life into high poke as well or triumph for team fighting
Alacrity is the usual but I also consider legend bloodline for dueling/high poke matchup but do remember it takes the most time to stack out of the three legend choices
coup de grace, cut down, and last stand all have their uses as well
Normally I take HoB for the short burst trades viego can do but I also consider electrocute into ranged matchups if needed. Secondary tree would either be precision, domination or, resolve for laning
treasure hunter, relentless hunter, and ultimate hunter all have their uses as well being item spikes, roaming, and for skirmishes
For laning particularly there are many ways and angles you can play about it but some tips are using Q passive for lane sustain, E/W for roaming and to dodge skillshots, and even could use WQ combo to proc sudden impact
If you have any questions about matchups, itemization, or about macro or so on you may ask me. Would also love to hear about your journey as a laner or if you experimented with any of these items above as it's always nice to learn more. More stuff about lane viego is on my profile
I really want to play him toplane after having hundreds of games in jungle. I see that yone and yasuo can be played toplane and since viego is a good duelist in theory playing him toplane must be viable but not sure what to play in a build kind of yone yasuo trynd etc. pls help
This is the kinda comp I always have problems with. 3 dashes, kayle with W, and the one Cass without Ult is disgusting with dash disable and ult.
They are like extremely slippery and whenever I ult on them they always slip through my fingers. And if I got a possession, I either instantly die or they just run away.
May I know how to play Viego better in such cases? I am currently in Gold so players start to get better at their champions mechanically. Not too crazy but it was wayyy easier for me in bronze. I am just hitting mechanical ceiling here because I misplay ALOT when I possess high mobility champions.
If you want to see VOD i will prepare a YouTube link here. Analysis would be very much appreciated thanks a lot!
I am newbie playing Viego, and this is my first pre-6 kill with being forced to stayed as another champion : ). Clip is not special, but there's a first time for everything.
During HOB popularity, PTA comes into my mind. Since precision primary path is better (in my opinion, please debate), why don’t we use PTA? It is also a single target focus and procing it is very easy with Viego. Just Q auto or W auto activates it already. I’d rather take PTA + inspiration.
What r your thoughts? Let me know : ). I am gold so don’t take this idea too seriously tho.
I like 15 ability haste from bastionbreaker. Viego ult cooldown is extremely high with 120/100/80.
I am newbie Viego so, is it just skill issue of not managing ult CD timer well, or can yall play with this high CD on his ult? For initial ult, I rely a lot on this cast and often time I only see it not ready when I want to use.
Hello started playing viego mid a few days ago because i enjoy it but what build should i build i still dont know should i go bruiser viego or classic crit?
I just base on dirk and then try to decide but I find my first base to be to early to decide if a game is gonna be bloody. I'm looking for a good rule of thumb to decide between the two.
I really hate Viego bugs, whether it is in my favor or not.
I am a newbie playing LoL so new gen, not aware of past bugs. However, I do know the billion AP incident happened.
I moved from Wild Rift to LoL PC. In wild rift viego is nowhere near as buggy as this. It may be because of better coding practices or just new engine idk.
Here in league, some bugs r not gamebreaking, but in very fast teamfights, it may get me offguard, sway my attention and lose the game sometimes.
Viego spawns naafiri dogs. Q cooldown disappears after possessing Shyvana. My E icon keeps spinning after leaving Cass. My healthbar still has grey indicator after leaving Rengar or Locke. These are the bugs I encountered so far.
Yesterday, azzapp posted a short where Viego keeps Ornn's Kaenic magic shield even after leaving. This is truly gamebreaking and ridiculous. Even when it would be in my favor I would not want that because it is just unfair. Has this kinda thing ever happened in proplay Viego?
Is there any way you guys can tolerate this and just say "it's just viego"? I truly love the playstyle and designs. It's just that these small bugs are triggering me, whether it is in or against my favor.
I know it is the faster the better, but I want your opinion on bare minimum. I finish at 2:53 from red to blue. This is no issue because blue to crab translate very easily, it's just right into river.
However, my blue to end of krugs finish at 2:52 which means I have to go all the way around, exposing myself to bot or top mid bush, and reaching krugs at around 3:05. Do I still need to improve clearing speed or is this enough?
Because I was too focusing on micro, I did not make the right decision to go to cait and sera to melt them down. I just need to W E ekko and they will melt like nothing. Instead I went into freaking Hecarim lol.
We were so ahead like 18-30 and I completely trolled the entire game.
I still see posts from here from time to time, and I know that conqueror was very bad for quite some time. Is hail of blades still the vibe? Or can I go back to conq?
