Other Please bike/scooter with some common sense on campus

It's sometimes such a nightmare to drive on campus with people crossing randomly not at crosswalks, bicycles/scooters popping out of nowhere on wrong side of the road. I'm not saying you have to follow every single traffic law such as coming to a complete stop at every single stop sign on campus, but at least be aware of the cars and your surroundings.

If you approach an intersection and there's a car there, stop or at least slow down and don't assume you just have the right of way. And also don't turn in front of a car. This is literally for your own safety as well from not getting hit by a car. And if you're going to turn at a non-stop sign, signal you are turning or something. I was driving down Watt way and some dude decided to just turn left on his bicycle right in front of me from the other side of the street I almost crashed. So please be careful and mindful of everyone else on the road thanks.

Question How are other international students dealing with the internship situation in the US?

Hey everyone! I’m currently studying Business Administration at USC Marshall as an international student, and honestly, the fact that we can’t do internships in the US anymore is incredibly frustrating.

I’m curious how the rest of you are dealing with this. I did an internship in Europe, where I’m originally from, this past summer because of the situation, and I’ll probably start looking into opportunities in Canada or Australia for next summer as well.

What really sucks is not being able to intern in the country where I’m studying, especially when my university has such a strong brand name and I have access to its network and connections with US employers. Obviously, that’s a huge disadvantage.

I’m genuinely curious how other international students are handling this. Have you given up on internships altogether, or are you doing internships in your home countries or in other countries outside the US?

Especially in business, having relevant work experience before graduating is extremely important if you want to land a good job. So I’m genuinely interested in hearing how you guys are navigating this situation and what you’re doing to build your careers despite these restrictions.

Question Which USC Business Emphasis Is Best for My Future Career?

Hey! I’m starting at USC in the spring as a Business Administration major, and I’m struggling to choose an emphasis.

I’m an international student from Europe, so I want something with strong job prospects and a realistic chance of getting hired and sponsored for a work visa in the US, Canada, or Australia.
I’m creative, competitive, and very people-oriented. I enjoy communication, leadership, and managing teams, but I also want a specialization that will make me employable right after graduation.

I’m mainly torn between Marketing and Risk Management. Marketing sounds more fun and creative, but I’m worried about competition. Risk Management seems more practical, but I’m not sure I’d enjoy the work. I’d probably love Leadership or Entrepreneurship, but I’m concerned they wouldn’t give me enough concrete skills. Finance doesn’t interest me, and Business Analytics seems too focused on data, math, and Excel.

What would you recommend considering my personality, job opportunities, and the challenges of being an international student?

Academic English proficiency for Viterbi's MS in CSAI

Hey guys,
The minimum IELTS requirement at Viterbi for the master's program is 6.5 (with a minimum of 6 in each subsection). I got an overall band of 6.5 (R 6, L 7.5, W 6, S 6.5). I just met the requirement. Does this mean I met the English requirement, or does a higher band increase chances in general?
Did anyone with similar results get accepted??
Please help me with the confusion!!

hey everyone! i’m a sophomore at the University of Alabama and i want to transfer to USC SCA Film Production next year. i’m in the middle of my application and im lost on what they’re looking for, especially in the student essays, three words to describe yourself, and the video introduction. i’ve seen people take it serious and people putting satirical answers. my portfolio medium is Unreal Engine 5. id love to hear any advice or suggestions on how to make my application truly stand out.
