Looking to swap my Eotech EXPS3 for an LPVO on my 14.5 URGI. I’m just not sure about which reticle to get, though. The rifle is basically clone correct. I realize MOA would depart from that, but I don’t care too much as I prefer it over MRAD.
Bonus question: which Geissele mount height? 1.54 or 1.93? I seldom use NVGs and I don’t have a peq or anything on the rifle.

The advice I kept getting when I would see people asking to build either the 11.5 or 14.5 was “Both” so here we are

Looking to pair a 13.9” or 14.5” URG-I with a (non-mini) RC2. For folks who’ve run this combination, how did you find the gassiness? What upgrades (springs, buffers, charging handles, etc.) do you use, and (ballpark) how many-ish shots does it tend to take you to gas out with them, if you know? Would slightly prefer not to tinker with gas blocks or tubes, but open to information there too.
*Ideally,* I’d like to (roughly) cut gassiness to the point where the extra gas from the suppressor is fairly counterbalanced, without fully stripping away the natively “combat-gassed” quality of the base rifle (ie still got that extra reliability from *slight overgassing*).
Based on my research, I was thinking maybe a Geissele Super 42 spring and H2 buffer, with a Radian Raptor SD or Geissele Airborne CH?
Edit: Obviously professional SOF types have run URGIs full auto all the time. What do they run, in terms of buffers and charging handles? (I know the base lower for a service URGI is a basic colt lower, but what do they add to that, if anything?)

11.5 Build is essentially done. Fun fact, the manufacturer of the M203 is RM Equipment. They specialized in exporting M203 systems overseas. Their biggest customer of their M203 was Australia, which used them for their F88 rifles and Mexico.

Definitely not clone correct but I think turned out pretty well!
Geissele URGI upper, FN lower. Geissele LPK, B5 stock, BCM pistol grip and VFG. Surefire DFT (on arisaka body and inline mount) w/ cloud defensive tape switch plate, MBUS pro sights, Eotech EXPS-3.0 on unity riser, Polonium K on surefire hub, Railscales, Geissele G2S trigger, BFG Vickers sling.

Have been slowly putting together parts for an early NSW URGI and I think I’ve finally knocked out a good bit of some of the harder to source stuff. Just can’t decide on optic choice and LAM.. leaning NF S-VPS and LA5
- Surplus 10-series Crane upper
- Surplus NAVSEA rotational WMX200
- pre-NSN 13.5” Mk16
- pre-NSN 4-prong
- pre-NSN “S” P/N ACH
- SureFire RC1
- Gen 1 CQD endplate
- C stamp carrier

Just bought a lower, have a build planned out but can’t decide between an 11.5 or a 14.5. Most of my shooting is 75-100 yards but some areas near me open up farther. The 14.5 looks badass as shit and I like my big boy rifles but I’ve already got a 16 inch ar so I probably don’t need something that similar. What are yalls thoughts between the two?

Haven’t seen many posted with an 8T. Fits with the thick Rhodie 6k. No nods but planning on NGAL soon, rail looks naked.

My URGI w/ a pistol lower for traveling. Absolutely blursed build.
DD Mk18 w/ Mk16 Handguard, Radian, G33, Comp M5, PEQ, M600 w/ PLH V2 Head, YHM Turbo-K RB on a Surefire Hub. Lower is basically stock with an Atrius and a BAD Lever.
Used the upper for work. Now it’s at home

I discovered that being cross-eye-dominant with an LPVO will make you want to run into traffic. So, out with the LPVO and in with the UH1

I’ve heard the first 13.5” MK16 rails the mil received on contract were lasered with a p/n instead of having the NSN engraved on the side, is that accurate? Does anyone which year/s this was done, and when nsn marked 13.5s started to show up?

I think the general consensus is that B5 Coyote brown is what people prefer and the majority of what people use. FDE however is what most spray painted stocks end up looking similar to.
What are your thoughts?

How many nsn marked 9.3” rails out there? Mine is the first I’ve seen. Not much info I can find about them.

So I got this in 2019, from a friend who knew an employee at Geissele, it’s a green URGI rail that supposedly they made when they tried to sell the govt on colors for the URGI uppers. It has the NSN numbers, and no steel QD insert. Just curious about it after all these years.
