Restaurant/Pub Man I don't know who brought back 'Hot Bar Snacks' but I'm LOVING it

Currently sitting at the Shakespeare and they served up two piping hot mini pies with gravy; steak/ale, AND chicken/leek.

It's exactly what I want with a pint, and worth a visit.

Last time I visited Cambridge, there was a pub that did hot scotch eggs too.

Perfection with a pint!

Anyone else loving this?

Question What are your favourite "treat" breakfasts that aren't a full English?

As asked above - what are those breakfasts you enjoy the most that feel like a treat and aren't a fry up? Those ones for lazy weekend mornings that take a bit longer to prepare, but you know are going to be worth it? Or with an ingredient that is a bit more expensive and you don't get often? Is it a stack of pancakes you go potty over, or a good shakshuka that gets you salivating?

I'm looking to up my family breakfast/brunch game and am hoping you lovely people can give me some inspiration please!

Edit: thanks folks - am looking through your replies and there are some really good ideas I am going to try!

Question What British foods should I absolutely try on my first visit to the UK? 🇬🇧🍽️

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m planning to visit the UK for two weeks, and one thing I’m really looking forward to is trying British food!
I’d love to know what you’d recommend to someone visiting from Egypt for the first time. Not just the famous touristy stuff, but the dishes, snacks, desserts, and little local favourites that you genuinely love.
Should I try a proper Sunday roast, fish and chips, a full English breakfast, a traditional pie, or something completely different?
Also, are there any regional specialities or underrated places that serve amazing traditional British food?
Basically, if you had two weeks to introduce someone to the best of British food, what would be on your must-try list?
I’d love to hear your recommendations! And if there’s a food you think is overrated, feel free to tell me that too 😂

And Where can i found it in London

Thanks! 🇬🇧❤️🇪🇬

Rumour has it that McDonalds are bringing back the breakfast bagel in 2027. Until then I’ve made my own using an ‘everything’ bagel, 2 sausages formed into a patty, 2 rashers of smoked back bacon, omelette eggs and cream cheese. Yorkshire tea double bagger, as is tradition.

It's an effort made, tikka (jar paste) and butter chicken (jar cooking sauce)

I love to make BIR curries.

But something hits different about this type of curry..nostalgia from being a kid maybe. 😊

One with befstroganof beef other with chicken and mac n cheese, with a pint of inch's cider, after a day of physical work in a freezing room. I feel replenished and extremely warm and sleepy.
