I look at the sunday preview every week. This model has vanished since the original KT release. How long do these separate releases usually take?

Heyo all!! Oh man I’ve been sitting on this tyranid collection for a WHILE - all primed up black after a few false starts Im different schemes that didn’t quite scale up past a squad or two but this long weekend i decided to try knock it out in one sustained push and MAN am I ever happy with how it came out!!

I’m a massive fan of black armour and pale skin across various of my armies so I figured it would work well as a quick scheme Im familiar with AND pair nicely wuth my much more fleshed out Genestealer Cult army, the Children of the Lantern!

They are not intended as a Final Day army but rather a seeding cult to spread initial infections between planets on void ships rather than focus on one planet to completion - however I figured it would be cool to flesh out the actual hive fleet behind the cult!!

Hence, we now have Hive Fleet Harkos! The name was derived from Dune’s Harkonnens with their stark monochromatic colour pallette - In line with their GSC connection, I treat this as a vanguard force that relies on GSC to soften up the planet ahead of them; the hive mind having calculated the value in minimising tyranid biomass expenditure for this fleet when controlled human forces can take the brunt of it before they even arrive (hence their GSC, the Cult of thl

The trygon repose was VERY effective for me as it completely recontextualised the movement of the creature for me as where baseline it felt awfully static to me; this felt much more coiling which lined up with its movements in space marine 2 so that was very much a centrepiece for me which Im super proud of!

For this collection, the new (at the time) genestealers were my initial investment for me, naturally as a GSC player, however a friend of mine was able to give a Broodlord and a trygon from their old start collecting + a psychophage! This formed the bedrock of it as it’s own force rather than just GSC assets

Originally it was intended as a lil 500 point howeve fit crept up to 1k with the release of the AWESOME looking raveners and getting to see Lictors in action with the Tithes animatic - plus a neurolictor to top it off at the end as it was just a cool as heck model lol

Decided to start painting my barbgants cause I was board and I’m waiting on my norn emissary and these little guys are a blast to paint! They have a lot of seperate sections that all have different colors which lets me pour time into each one of those sections (ofc I’m not batch painting these guys), also what do y’all think of my paint scheme?

So the new hobby shop in my town asked me kindly if I wouldn't mind painting their warhammer display, and I figured why not.

I have never painted tyranids before, heck I barely have started in this hobby. But I am rather proud how it turned out! it was imensivelly fun to paint! I'm very excited to start on the space marines too!

I really enjoyed making a custom base for it too, in hindsight maybe I should have picked some different color plant but it was a joy to play around with it 😄

My buddy is running a 1k knights list (cerastus knight castigator, knight destrier, knight errant ). Ive never gone up against knights before & they look pretty intimidating. What should the game plan be? 😅 I was thinking a crusher stampede list with some norns but I dunno. Whats your guys thoughts?

Only took me 3 hours to paint this absolute unit of a model in my new style. For the base I made it into a rocky ground with a burnt up kriegs man

My local game store has a used model room and occasionally posts new arrivals on their discord... i saw he had a built toxicrine for $50, and while i understand its kinda a not great unit to play in game, I figured what the hell, I love the model. So i had them hold it for me. I go to pick it up and to my surprise its new on sprue unbuilt. Even says "assembled" on the tag. The owner was not there for me to ask him about it. As I dont have either yet, I will likely build it as a Maleceptor. But now I'm kinda wanting another to build the Toxy.

Wish there was an extra body kit available to kitbash a toxicrine out of the remaining parts... anyone get creative?

I wanted to try my hand at sculpting a custom Neurotyrant crest, my intention is to have this ultra pointy dude be the Warlord of my next brain bug list and wanted him to stand out with a more prominent features/more brain armor. I am definitely open to try some recommendations on something that would make sculpting Armour plates easier. I am very much struggling.

Also For anyone who uses green stuff often is it prone to hardening up faster in cold rooms?

These are all the tyranids I have. I want to play monster mash, or at least that’s what I think it’s called, with some big bugs. With the units I have available. What all should I get to complete/create a coherent list?
