Ixia Wars – turn-based hex tactics with short, eventful battles. Looking for Android beta testers

Hi everyone,

I'm making Ixia Wars, a turn-based hex tactics game. It's close to launch, and Beta 0.3 is now out.

The idea: short, eventful battles that are easy to follow. Unit stats are right on the cards, and before every attack the game shows the damage calculation. The game started on paper, so nothing is hidden – though you can just as well play by feel. Maps are generated, so every battle plays out differently.

I'm looking for Android testers for the closed beta on Google Play. Join here – the steps are shown on the page:

https://groups.google.com/g/ixia-wars-testers

No bug reports or forms needed: just play a battle and tell me whether you enjoyed it.

Google requires a closed test to run for 14 days before a game can go public, so if you like the game, please keep it installed for two weeks.

Heroes, Warlords and Ruin - Diplomacy Menu

• Upvotes

The last update for my turn-based stragety game added the ability to engage in diplomacy with AI controlled factions. This system revolves around the resource relations which is spent to make treaties with other factions. AI factions to a limited degree will also make or break treaties with other factions along with declare wars. There's only two factions you are able to interact with in the current public build so its use is currently limited. I will make the trade option functional in a future update.

I made a turn-based tactics game where you can’t stop moving

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a small turn-based roguelite called Keep Moving, where you play as a shopping cart fighting enemies in a supermarket.

The main twist is that you can’t stand still. Every turn, you have to move, and your speed determines how far you travel and how much damage you deal when hitting enemies.

Enemies telegraph their attacks, so the challenge is figuring out how to position yourself, avoid getting hit, and use your momentum to fight back.

One other mechanic I’ve been experimenting with is what happens when you die. Your wreck stays on the board, you lose some maximum HP, but enemies you’ve killed stay dead. You also get to pick upgrades between lives.

I’m still figuring out whether forcing the player to move makes the tactical decisions more interesting or just frustrating, which is why I’d really appreciate some feedback from people who enjoy this genre.

You can play it in your browser here: https://madchimp.itch.io/keep-moving

If you give it a try, I’d love to know what you think, especially about the movement and combat.

I finished my turn-based wargame. Two years, one person. Hex grid, regiments, morale, a roguelike campaign. Free in your browser, nothing to install.

Edit: rewritten in my own words after the comment below. Fair cop, the first version was tidied up by an AI. The game's the same.

Massed Armies inspired by SOVL, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Kings of War, Lord of the Rings, Field of Glory, Slay The Spire and Battle Brothers. Turn based strategy, this game was made to feel like you do at club night with your mates. It's like a companion piece to get a game in and settle that itch that you've rolled some dice.

I guarantee you a challenge. As your army grows, the threat increases.

The game has a fast Roguelike Element between the battles to help your army grow, upgrade and ultimately let you choose your path.

The game is free for the entire human vs orc campaign. For additional races, they cost £4 each.

I'm a solo artist and dev, making a working game is a dream come true.

It runs on phones and browsers. No need to install anything.

Please feel free to play it here https://playwarmonger.com/?c=reddit-tbt and any feedback, good or bad, I'm very grateful to hear from you.

If you like building defensive walls and towers, I am looking for gamers to playtest my TBS game on Steam

Hi, I am the developer of "Virtualord, The Virtual Conqueror" an isometric Turn Based Strategy game with a strong attention to base/defense building and strategy.

In this playtest you will be playing a preview version of the upcoming demo, which basically it's the full thing, minus a few minor features and some stability fixes.

If you are willing to help testing at least the first mission (5-10 minutes) and submitting some feedback (Discord or online form) you can sign up on this Steam page.

If you prefer a more polished and stable experience you can wait until the 6th of November, when I will (hopefully) release the full demo.

Looking for games that lean into Chess but still have strong RPG elements like Tactics Arena Online from back in the day

I used to play Tactics Arena Online a lot back in the day, but totally forgot about it. I'm pretty sure it was unavailable for years. Today I was thinking about it and found it's back online. So I gave it a play for the first time in probably a decade. I freaking loved it. Does anyone know of similar games that lean more so into Chess in terms of intricate move and attack patterns, but still have strong RPG elements like stats, RNG, leveling up, and whatnot?

New Trailer, Demo Available Now & Coming in 2027! ——Witch & Dragon: Hope of Elements

Hey everyone! We’re working on Witch & Dragon: Hope of Elements, a turn-based roguelike about a witch and her little dragon.

The game is built around elemental reactions. You can combine five elements, interact with the environment, and experiment with skills and treasures to create unexpected chain reactions and combat strategies.

We’ve just released an updated demo with lots of improvements, including tutorial adjustments, UI refinements, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes. There’s also new content to explore, including the complete Wood Domain storyline and part of the Water Domain storyline.

We’ve been working hard to improve the experience based on what we’ve learned from previous playtests. Now we’d love to hear from more players!

We’re also excited to share that the game is planned for release in 2027, and we’ll be participating in Steam Next Fest this month.

  • Battle rival warbands in brutally tactical, turn-based skirmishes.
