Small TRX stakers can’t get TronSave’s Sell API (200k rule) — the math, and how pooling stake fixes it

Hi r/Tronix,

If you stake TRX and sell energy, here’s something I found out the hard way and how I’m working around it.

The 200k rule
TronSave gives Sell API access only to an address that manages 200k+ TRX staked. Below that you’re stuck with their standard auto-sell. With the API you choose orders and prices yourself, and can route energy to other marketplaces when they pay more.

Why it matters — real numbers (Oct 2026)

  • 1 staked TRX = ~9.59 energy per day.
  • Annual yield ≈ 9.59 × price in sun × 365 / 1,000,000, at full use.
  • 30 sun → ~10.5% a year. 40 sun → ~14%. 47 sun → ~16.4%.
  • Real fills on TronBid this month average ~30 sun, but big 1-day buy orders show up at 30–31 sun, and prices spike during demand peaks.
  • Catching those orders across platforms instead of one auto-sell = roughly +2–4% a year. On 100k TRX that’s 2–4k TRX extra.

The key detail: the threshold counts managed stake, not one wallet
TronSave confirmed: the 200k is counted on the address that manages the stake. That address can manage several wallets, each owned by a different person.

So small stakers can pool:

  1. Each person keeps TRX staked in their own wallet.
  2. Each adds the same manager address to their active permission — only DelegateResource and UnDelegateResource.
  3. The manager can’t transfer, unstake or vote. The network rejects anything else.
  4. Combined stake passes 200k → the manager gets the API → sells energy from every wallet and pays each owner for their own energy.
  5. Anyone can leave any time by removing the permission with their owner key.

Risk, honestly
Worst case if the manager is compromised: your energy gets delegated somewhere and locked for up to ~30 days (chain parameter #78 = 864,000 blocks). Your TRX doesn’t move. Check the permission on Tronscan before and after.

Where I am
My bot manages ~130k TRX across my wallets and routes energy across TronSave, PowerSun, TronBid. I need ~70k more to unlock the API. I’m not taking any fee — I just need the pool to reach the threshold.

If you stake 10k+ and sell energy, or just let your stake sit idle, DM me — or ask anything technical below. Has anyone else tried pooling stake like this?

News tether just froze 1.45M USDT sitting in THORChain's TRON vaults today

no hacks on THORChain but Tron swaps are now halted on the protocol

on TRON block 86958330: 4 of THORChain's 6 TRON vaults got added to the USDT blacklist in a single block

I don't think THORChain was even the target here. The vaults went into the same 3 blocks as ~30 other wallets. 19 of them have $500k USDT each

Discussion Tronex Energy and SLAs: what should actually be guaranteed?

I've been thinking about what an SLA for a TRON Energy provider should actually cover.

Uptime alone feels pretty weak. A service can technically be online, but if the Energy arrives after the transaction has already been broadcast, that doesn't help much.

For something like Tronex Energy, I'd be more interested in metrics like actual delivery time, delayed or failed delegations, fallback events, and how long the resources stay delegated.

On-chain verification can prove that the delegation happened, but it doesn't prove that it happened fast enough or consistently enough.

So what would you actually want to see in a proper SLA for an Energy provider - uptime, delivery latency, fallback rate, compesnsation for missed delivery, or something else ?

USDT on Tron but 0 TRX? Why it won't send, and three ways out

This comes up here every week, so here's the short version.

USDT on Tron is a TRC-20 token. Every transfer needs energy, and if your address has none, the network burns TRX from the same address to pay for it. No TRX, nothing to burn, and the transfer is refused. Sending a smaller amount of USDT doesn't help; the fee is in TRX.

How much: about 6–7 TRX for a transfer to an address that already holds USDT, roughly twice that to one that never has. 20 TRX leaves a margin for one transfer. Your wallet shows the exact fee before you confirm.

Three ways out:

  1. Withdraw a little TRX from an exchange account to that address (pick the Tron network).

  2. Swap a bit of any coin you hold elsewhere into TRX, delivered to that address.

  3. Ask someone to send you 20 TRX.

What doesn't work: sending more USDT, energy rental with zero TRX (most rentals are paid in TRX), or TRX on the wrong network.

More detail: https://cambio.one/blog/usdt-on-tron-but-no-trx-for-the-fee?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=tron-gas (disclosure: I work on Cambio, which does option 2)

Any exchanges that trade TRX10 tokens and also allow you to list

Hi, so I've got some TRC10 Tron based tokens in an old wallet of mine and but the token is no longer listed anywhere on any exchanges these days anymore. Does anyone know of an exchange that has TRC10 tokens being traded and or you can list and load some liquidity up for trade? Thanks

Edit: When I first wrote this I accidentally was calling the TRC10 tokens TRX10. TRC-10 is what I was referring to

My friend asked me why I use TRON.

I said
Because I like simple things.

He asked
What do you mean?

I said,
Fast transactions. Low fees. No drama. Unlike my bank...

He looked at me, nodding in agreement.

(He couldn't argue with that.) 😂😂😂

Help with my TRX wallet

I got a new job a month ago and it’s the first time ever I have to deal with a cryptocurrency.
I created TronLink wallet and now i don’t have access to my salary because i have to “activate” my wallet with TRX. I really don’t know, what’s going on tbh, but i need to do something with it.
I don’t have any other wallets to buy trx, so if anyone can send me some TRX (i really don’t know how much i need), i’d appreciate that very much.
I have 20$ left 🫡

Discussion Alternatives to TEM for leasing resources

Returns from TEM are dwindling. I think in some part it is due to inefficient allocations of resources where sometimes I might have energy resources go the SAME address multiple times in one day. So, that's 3-5 transactions within maybe a couple of hours rather than just one transaction to reclaim and one to allocate. So, rather than like 4 or 5 TRX being used, it ends up being 15-25 being used for fees rather than less, which effectively eats up profits. Any other automated services that are providing better returns these days?

Discussion Are there any plans for other stablecoins on the TRX network?

On the one hand, we have USDT, XAUT, MXNT, and of course USDD - which all operate on the Tron network.

On the other hand, the better regulated stablecoins, such as USDC, PYUSD, EURI, EURR, and so on all run on Ethereum, Solana, and other networks. EURT has been discontinued. Also worth noting, xStocks like the xSPY, xTSLA, etc. also run on Solana and Ethereum.

Considering this, it looks like Ethereum and Solana are better positioned to make major gains over the next 5-10 years thanks to this.

So, my question is: are there any plans to create additional stable coins or investment tokens like xSPY on the Tron network?

Discussion Tether freezes on TRON need two signatures and the first one is public. We timed the gap across 853 wallets: median 17 minutes, but 23% had under a minute.

Method: for each wallet, the gap between the first freeze proposal observed on-chain and the confirmed freeze, over 853 TRON wallets. Pairs more than 24 hours apart excluded as re-designations.

Median window: 17 minutes. Frozen within one minute: 23%. Addresses blacklisted all time across TRON and Ethereum: 10,999.

The 23% is the part that matters. A median is not a promise — a quarter of these had effectively no warning at all.

Also worth knowing: a freeze is not a sanction. A designation is a government naming a person; a freeze is Tether or Circle acting on its own contract, and either can happen without the other.

Full method and figures: https://omnitraceapp.com/stats

Disclosure: I build the tool in the video. The data above is from our own records and the method is stated so you can argue with it.

Can Tron smart contracts be used to securely hold user deposits?

We have a website with a system where users need to deposit money as a security deposit or collateral (Forum).

For security and trust reasons, I don't want the money to be held directly by us. Instead, I'm looking into whether we could use a blockchain smart contract or some other decentralized solution to hold the funds.

The idea is that people who advertise/promote content that has a deposit attached to it would receive a commission, for example 10% or 15%, based on predefined rules. The commission would be handled automatically by the system, while users would still be able to see and track their funds from their own wallets at all times.

We are also considering creating a kind of hot wallet network that users could use to send and receive funds between each other within our platform.

My main question is: would something like this be possible to build on the Tron network using smart contracts?

I'm still researching the technical side of this and I don't know all the details yet, so I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions from people who have experience with Tron USDT, smart contracts, or similar systems.

Thanks in advance, and I appreciate any input.

Discussion Can you actually verify an Energy provider on-chain? Checking Tronex Energy on TronScan

I've seen "on-chain verifiable" used by a few Energy providers, so I wanted to understand what you can actually verify yourself.

With TRON resource delegation, at least one part is pretty transparent: if Energy gets delegated to your address, you can check the resource state and delegation records on TronScan.

I used Tronex Energy as an example since they mention on-chain verification.

From what I can tell, TronScan can confirm the delegation itself - that resources were assigned and which addresses were involved.

What it obviously can't tell you is uptime, support quality, or how reliable the service performs over time. That's a separate question.

For people who use Energy providers regularly: do u actually check the delegation on tronscan, or just look at the Energy balance in your wallet?

Gasless USDT Transfers on TRON — Built by the Oniq Team

Discussion Why can two identical USDT transfers on TRON cost completely different amounts?

I always assumed USDT transfers on TRON had more or less the same resource cost, but the recipient's state actually makes a pretty big difference.

A normal USDT TRC-20 transfer uses Energy plus some Bandwidth. The interesting part is the Energy usage.

If the receiving address already has a USDT balance, a transfer is currently around 65k Energy. If the recipient has zero USDT, it can be closer to 130k.

So you're basically looking at roughly 2x the Energy for what, from the user's perspective, looks like the exact same USDT transfer.

At the current network rate of 100 sun per Energy, if you don't have enough Energy available and it all falls back to consuming TRX, that's roughly 6.5 TRX vs 13 TRX just for the Energy part.

The numbers aren't completely fixed either. USDT is affected by TRON's dynamic Energy model, so actual usage can move a bit over time.

This also explains why simply estimating costs as "number of USDT transfers × one fixed fee" can be pretty inaccurate, especially if you're sending to a lot of addresses with zero USDT balances.

There are basically different ways people handle it: keeping TRX staked for resources, using delegated Energy when needed, or just letting the transaction consume TRX when the account is short on resources.

Tronex Energy is one calculator that separates the ~65k and ~130k cases, which is useful when comparing the two recipient states instead of assuming every USDT transfer needs the same amount.

Curious how people here handle this in practice. If you're doing a lot of USDT transfers, do you estimate Energy based on the recipient's state, or just provision enough for the higher case?
