Essentially, I have great access to new things as a McD worker. Today, I tried something while on break: literally just a steamed regular bun (since we don’t have a POS item for buns on their own, my store manager lets us ring it up as a biscuit with a special request tag). Although that may not sound too appetizing, I kid you not when I say it tasted eerily similar to a dinner roll from a fine-dining restaurant.

Basically, we have a running inside joke in my store because my name in the McDonald’s app is “Michael from [our store ID]”, and the 1st assistant manager and I were giggling like little girls yesterday afternoon after I clocked out because when he finished printing labels for 2 new employees’ name tags, we made one for me with that joke. Now there are two possible reactions from the general manager:

•I’m her best asset and she laughs because she knows the joke
•She’s furious at me for following through on it and he assistant for even letting it happen

I’m at home off the clock but my keys are missing, so I spent $20 on a McDelivery order. Just a Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit, a large hot caramel latté, and an apple pie (and the default $3 delivery tip and a round-up-for-RMHC donation). The driver gets to my store and waits for a while, before finally telling me they don’t have any apple pies up and needing to know what I want instead. When I ask what they can substitute at that moment, the dasher drives away with the food and claims there is no substitute, which is a major blight on my team’s end. When they get here, I learn it’s not the actual dasher registered on the network who did the job, so there’s a million different people to blame.

It is actually AT&T sending that message, but I test dev betas so I’m a little ahead lol

Basically, we have a chart for our fancy Convotherm ovens, where pies can come in either “half/partial tray” or “full tray” bake settings. This manager had his own personal tiny booklet on all sorts of proper procedures, so he pulled it out and showed how partial is good for 2-10 pies and full is good for 12-12 (yes, it said 12-12 smh). I then asked him what we’d do for 11, then his eyes snapped open, his smile dropped, he started scrambling through the booklet, and he chuckled while saying he has no idea. This store is almost entirely neurodivergent and is managed by millenials and upkept by Gen Z, so this is a normal thing here
