BOOKS

i’m currently rereading the books. I never finished so I figured I would reread them. But to get to the point, I was wondering if anybody has any sketches of the characters? I would love to put a visual representation of how they describe them in the books without the TV show because there’s also other characters that are not in the TV show. I tried looking them up on Google and I didn’t find anything. I’m specifically looking for Sasha and glass, but I would love to see the visual representation of all of the characters since they’re different from the TV show.

Finished for the first time Spoiler

So as you can tell by the title, I finished The 100 for the first time. I didn’t just recently start watching it, I started it on Netflix around 2016 I think, but I finally finished it after putting it off for so long.

I’m glad I didn’t listen to anyone else’s opinion on the show, and watched it myself, cuz I really truly enjoyed it. In my own opinion, it’s one of the best sci-fi shows ever (though I’m probably biased cuz I’m obsessed with the dystopian and sci-fi genres). I’m incredibly sad, due to how long I’ve been watching the show (even though it’s been off and on), and how good of a show it was. I’ve been crying for like an hour straight and I usually can never cry for anything so that’s how I know it really touched me lol.

Anyway, I’m making this post cuz I’m wondering: does any1 know ANY other shows that have the same type of things as The 100? For example, them surviving on earth, then surviving a second time, after the death wave. Them surviving on Sanctum, with the technology and battles that they had, as well as the ending. And, finally, the prequel pilot episode, that showed the start of the grounder civilization (still sad this was never turned into a series, it would’ve been really cool). If any1 knows a show that has the same amount of effort, or the same sci-fi/dystopian theme, PLEASE share it with me, thank you in advance.

If each couple was only allowed to have one kid how the hell did the population of the ark increase???

Next time you watch The 100 try counting…

Try counting how many times a character gets everyone to chant in a mob. Sky crew does it. Grounders do it. They all do it

It’s pretty hilarious when you start counting and you realize it was a very convenient way for the writers to amp things up

SPOILERS S6 Kane and Abby in season 6

If you’re a Kabby hater, this post isn’t for you haha. I’m rewatching the episode where Diyoza tests Abby about what condition the prisoners have. He walks behind her and tells her he can take care of her. Then says “I know what to do.”

What do you guys think he’s referring to here? That she’s tried to come off the pills before and he knows how to help comfort her? Any theories would be great!

I really started to hate octavia blake Spoiler

I never liked octavia, I always thought she was so annoying. Especially when she kept trying to be a grounder, it pissed me off so much. She is skaikru whether or not she likes it and the fact that she kept making Lincoln feel guilty for being friends with Skaikru and being like them made me even more mad.

But the worse of all was her Red Queen era. Like she was literally Pike. 100%. I wish Bellamy or someone would have told her that, because she HATED Pike and then literally became him. Killing 400 people in an arena who went against Wonkru which is treason aka what Pike did. She literally became Pike.

Jasper Spoiler

**EDIT: I should preface this by saying I have watched the show through and through roughly 4 times now. I’ve understood why and how and all the things that brought them there. Just a personal take on it*

I don’t know if it’s a hot take or not but I genuinely could not stand Jasper throughout his time in the show. I found him whiny, annoying, and constantly trying to justify his piss poor actions.

S1 specifically, when they’re at the bridge and he starts spraying into the trees. The 100 (or at least some of them) see him as this great “hero” when in reality it was an incredibly stupid decision that almost got them killed. I’m not saying him being wary of the grounders in the trees was wrong but at that point Clarke and Anya hadn’t even discussed maintaining peace between the 100 and the grounders.

On top of that, he become an arrogant asshole to his best friend Monty for calling him out on his bullshit.

Don’t even get me started on S2, turning against Clarke for feeling unsafe at Mount Weather, basically calling her crazy (alongside the rest of the 47).

And finally S3 he becomes absolutely insufferable, blaming everyone else for his own issues. Yes, killing Maya in that mountain was horrible as she had really helped them so much but constantly blaming Clarke for what she did? Stupid. Clarke from the beginning made sacrifices to ensure their safety and nobody ever seemed to care or thank her for that (again Clarke has her own issues throughout the series too).

ALSO, everyone loves to blame Clarke for that when Bellamy and Monty (WHO ALLOWED THAT TO EVEN HAPPEN) never get shit for it. Jasper knew Maya for maybe like a month, two months (?) and I understand that it was horrible but what happened but Jaspers character somehow became 10x worse after that. (however I think it was an excellent portrayal of depression in TV).

I am just curious how other people feel regarding his character. I think Devon Bostick absolutely nailed the portrayal but every time I watch this I get more and more annoyed with his character as a whole.

Help me find this fan fic

Bellamy works at a hospital I think as a doctor and has a reputation for seducing married women. He meets Clarke (I think also at the hospital) and she’s married and becomes his next target. I think she was married to Roan and they were actually just friends and the marriage was for immigration purposes. Anyone read this one and remember the author or title?

Lexa lived and Alycia didn’t leave the cast for a different show? Her dying set off a cascade of events that explained so much backstory and affected the future plot line of COL.

The old archetypes that didnt really aged well. Spoiler

Im rewatching this show after years for second time and let me tell you that even though i think there is a lots of good in this show, i didnt liked season 1 before and its not really changing this time either. The reason for this to being highly nonsensical way how they made rules of the Ark citizens, completely dumb dialogues and cliches that were in every show at that time, some still being made these days ( right now only Severance is a show that somehow avoided all of this and its magnificent ).

So to start, the whole system of arresting children like this and killing everybody for the smallest of crimes which in many cases arent really even crimes. In reality there would not be a day without so kind of rebellion, this would not work ever. And then we have the titular idea to send 100 of prisoners and expect they will follow the program let alone report back at all, if you sentence somebody to death because of using to much of a supplies or something like that, dont expect cooperation at all. The council is based on people that are from just first look very unhinged like first episodes with Kane and Diana that is clearly smells of resentment in first moment she is on the screen.

Then we have the "writing", decisions that are made on the ground like "whatever we hell want to" this line is very obviously trying to be iconic, the only problem is that i get if a prisoner doesnt want to follow rules, does that mean that includes total loss of selfpreservence too? People who causes anarchy usually also dont forget to plan survival basics like looking for food, securing place where you sleep in unknown enviroment and so on, im not talking super inteligent people, but letting people eat whatever, not stoping a single fight and just loling around leads to death. Another dumb stuff is how much of cliche is that every single character just has to lie about everything, even the most basic things that just end up hurting people and normally people wouldnt lie like this, this is all made for artificial drama that the writers thinks its exciting but it isnt, it leads only to stretching a simple plot for longer and thats really it, I get when Jaha doesnt want to tell everybody that there is not enough space to get everybody on Earth, i dont get when Bellamy salami isnt willing to tell his group basically anything that he ever learns when it matters to the survival. Also him ignoring everything that makes sense is extremely annoying, we get it, he wants to be a leader but that doesnt mean he has disagree with every logical thing everybody says, like lets talk with this friendly grounder, nope i dont believe we can even if he obviously saved my sister and keeps doing that or its ok that Murphy abuses everybody around him lets keep him around until things get extreme and its too late. Also the extras, crowd that is around them are like sheep listening to anybody who gets a stage apparantly because they dont have brain of their own, there is only talk between Clarke Cable and Bellami Salami and literally no one from crowd is like, wait that doesnt make sense.... Dont even let me start with screaming in forest first day without knowing what the hell lives in there and then Jasper Casper shooting a guy from a tree because he has a feeling, Clarke Gable here brought them to watch them for backup, logicaly grounders did too, so i would need to be absolutely sure when a talk about peace is going on that they are about to attack before shooting, but what the hell, this creates multiple episodes of drama that could have been avoided, which is the point, we need unnecesary drama instead of creating complex one.

And then there are cliches, love triangle that doesnt matter and let me tell you i hate this everywhere, if a single person loves two people and cant choose then he is an asshole, i hate how these shows makes people like this seen as good characters, no they just play with others because they are picky, and Finnlandia here couldnt even hold his pants on for more then one day throwing away years of a relationship and woman that came out of sky in a ductaped metal box, but Clarke has nice curly blonde hair i guess... We have the second chances scenes with Murphy and to no one surprise ooops he wont change from psychopath to normal person. The you just missed him\her plots, the we need to find the antidote, people looking squeeky clean every day and on and on....

So... Dont get me wrong, i like the show overall, just not the first season, but even then i can appreciate some darker themes they did like that child killing her demon and how brutal the grounders are, but i wont lie, because of this season i almost quited the last time.

What would your Grounder name (based on real places or landmarks) be?

I was reminded that this list of Grounder names exists on the Wiki. They're based on real-life places or landmarks, and the biggest examples are TonDC (Washington, D.C.), Madi (Madison, Wisconsin), Ontari (Ontario, Canada), Roan (Roanoke, Virginia OR many other places named Roanoke in NE US), Nia (Niagara Falls), Costia (Anacostia neighborhood in Washington, D.C. OR Anacostia River), Lexa (Alexandria, Virginia), Lincoln (Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.), Emori (District of Columbia War Memorial in Washington, D.C.), and Otan (United States Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C.).

I think I'd like to be called Cambri (after Cambridge, Ontario) or Annan (after Annandale National Historic Site in Tillsonburg, Ontario. On that note, Tills would be kinda cool, too...).

What about you?

Gift ideas for a fan of the show?

I was wondering if anyone here had suggestions for things if I were to get someone a set of gifts with the theme being The 100 or places to shop for The 100 related things? The person loves the show super much. I also know he is a Clexa shipper if that helps at all.

Second Dawn Prequel

Honestly, didn’t know what else to title this, but every single time I rewatch it, I always wish we got that prequel because it never makes sense to me how the Grounders became so violent. I mean, Callie was an activist; the name Trikru comes from that group. I know it’s speculated that Reese formed Azgeda and their feud could’ve made them violent, but I don’t know. It makes me so sad we didn’t get the lore i know many people also hate the last 2 seasons but the fact that it tied more into the lore made me love them yes the writing could’ve been better but I would love to hear what people think.

SPOILERS S3 Returning to the show after quitting in Season 3 Spoiler

I used to watch The 100 live but when I couldn't make it through season 3. Lexa catching a stray bullet and then Lincoln getting domed for literally no reason, all within the context of a poorly written dictator subplot with Pike and Bellamy character assassination... I have a high tolerance for garbage but the show was asking too much from me. I think at the time I might have made it to the season 3 finale, but I never returned for season 4 because the show just made me too mad.

Not too long ago, I randomly put on the pilot episode when I was cleaning the house or something and I accidentally got my wife interested. I warned her that season 1 was okay, season 2 was great, but shit really falls apart in season 3, but she wanted to keep watching. When we got to season 3, she had all the same problems I had but we wanted to see what happened next.

I was really surprised going into season 4 that I thought the plot was exciting, status quo was changing, and characters were having new experiences and developing into different people.

Season 5 kept it up, new situations, new dynamics. I get the sense that it might be an unpopular opinion but I really liked Octavia's storyline. The one thing that upset me about season 5 was how quickly the show gave up on Earth in the finale. All that just to blow it up again. I get maybe that's the point but the execution was weird and rushed.

Season 6 was maybe a little too much change, but I thought everything going on with the Primes and the Anomaly was intriguing at least, albeit a really jarring shift in tone for the series. I liked the general sense of entering an unknown place with new things to learn and discover.

Season 7... Jesus Christ. I opened my heart up to this series again and I feel like I regret it. Nothing means anything. Everything feels random. We are back to quickly introducing and abandoning plot points. Characters are acting wildly inconsistent. The previous seasons have been focused and relatively straightforward and now the narrative is ping ponging all over the place. Tonight we watched episodes 13 and 14 and I have never been madder. Clarke immediately kills Bellamy over a sketchbook and characters like Octavia and Echo who have been crusading to save him and kill anyone who gets in their way just instantly hug it out like "I understand"???? "He's not the Bellamy we know anymore so it's fine" it's been like A DAY since he found religion?? He didn't do anything half as bad as he's done before and now he's just unceremoniously gone. For nothing. His presence in this season is completely inconsequential, and Clarke is treated like she isn't the biggest villain of the show to date by all of the important people in Bellamy's life. Then Gabriel dies right after and I was really starting to like him. We have two episodes left of this godforsaken show and half of me feels like I don't even want to bother.

What the hell were the writers thinking. What is this

Wells in lockup

Clarke was in Solitary because she would tell other inmates about the ark dying.. Would they have done the same thing with Wells. Plus as Jahas son he would have had a target on his back from the other inmates

Rewatching the 100 1x05 Spoiler

This episode will always hit me hard. Its when i realized this was not just another YA series. Till the end i really thought they wouldnt really let over 300 people die. But they did.

First time watching i hated Bellamy so much for this. I forgave him in 1x08 Day Trip. When he finally faced what he did

A.L.I.E Spoiler

I might be misunderstanding this, so please correct me if I’m wrong:

Why doesn’t A.L.I.E just kill/chip all the people currently trying to stop her (unchipped people), rather than going back and forth with Clarke and her group of friends who are trying to stop her? From what I understand, the whole reason she wants to stop them is because the flame carries the kill switch to turn her off. If that’s the case, I don’t understand why she doesn’t just kill them all so that she can just get it done with now and never have to worry about the kill switch.

My main reason for not getting why she doesn’t just do that to get it over with is because we’ve seen her kill people before, so it’s not like she’s some kind of pacifist. Also, how come she can’t force feed chips to people? Seems easier to do that than interrogate Clarke’s group. One could argue the problem of free will but we’ve seen her take complete control of Raven, as well as control every chipped person’s actions (granted, raven did submit, but still). Also, I think the free will shtick is only in v2 (the flame) so unless I’m wrong it just doesn’t make sense.

Only thing I could see it being is just purely for the plot, unless I’m missing something. Sorry for the yap, thanks in advance.

Petition to Netflix

How can we possibly get the 100 added back to Netflix or any streaming service for that matter. I have been itching to rewatch for I think the 5th maybe 6th time and I genuinely don’t feel like buying it on dvd or blu ray, I might be being cheap saying that but I miss it on Netflix ahhhh.
