Meta Honeypot flairs.
To cut down on the increased number of posts involving rule-breaking mods (notably Paper), 3 new post flairs have been introduced for testing.
Posts made using these flairs will be automatically removed.
Don't use them.
EDIT: After 3 weeks, this seems to have been a very successful test, with the vast majority of rule-8 violations blocked by the new filters.

Java Help Wanted Reliable minecart (un)loader designs with “minecart improvements” turned on?
So I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of no’s to this request. I turned on the minecart improvements on my server with a max speed of 32 or 64 on my server, and am finding that the simpler standard minecart loader/unloader designs can be very sensitive to minecart speed. The carts like to phase through solid blocks at the end of sloped rails, or depart unloaders before the redstone can trigger to hold it, etc.
Was curious if anyone has experimented with designs that work more reliably at “any” speed? Most of my ideas to “reset” speed to make the standard designs more reliable involve waterlogging rails to force carts to slow down, or running into walls+dropping to stop horizontal momentum, etc., but this ends up being really bulky in practice.

Bedrock Need fully automatic wood farm for Minecraft bedrock!!
I understand bedrock wood farms aren’t as good as java but it doesn’t matter how technical or big it is as my current world could support it. Problem is I can’t find one anywhere even though I’m sure there is one. A build tutorial would be nice.

Java Help Wanted I made a free Windows app to keep a library of schematics, view them in 3D and get the material list in stacks and shulkers
I build a lot from schematics and kept doing the same thing: open the world, load the schematic in Litematica, check the material list, do the maths for shulker boxes. So I wrote a small desktop app for the part that doesn't need the game open.
What it does:
- Imports .litematic, .schem (Sponge), .schematic (WorldEdit) and .nbt structure files into a local library with thumbnails.
- 3D viewer with a layer slider, so you can go up one layer at a time.
- Material list as an exact count, in stacks and in shulker boxes (16-stackables and unstackables are handled), exportable to CSV.
- Basic block editing: swap a block for a similar one (e.g. oak to spruce across the whole build), with undo history.
- Textures come from the Minecraft jar you already have installed. Nothing from Mojang is bundled.
You can try it in the browser without installing anything:
https://www.aserrano.dev/demo/schematic-lab
Get it on the Microsoft Store (Windows 10/11, 64-bit, free):
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9P3WWV65DTR6
Or as a plain installer from GitHub:
https://github.com/AngelSerranoD/schematic-lab/releases/latest
Things to know: it's a personal project and Windows only. The GitHub installer isn't code-signed, so SmartScreen will warn you there ("More info" → "Run anyway"); the Store version doesn't have that problem. It works offline and sends no data. It's not affiliated with Litematica, Mojang or Microsoft.
Feedback welcome, especially schematics that fail to load or material counts that look wrong.

Java Help Wanted Mob switch not working after updating
galleryAfter updating my world from 1.21.11 to 26.3 my mob switch stopped working.
Screenshot 1 and 2: Spawn chunks (I kept the old size of spawn chunks), I have 72 zombie villagers (traded) with only 1 who has an item (71 counting entities towards the mob cap), they are located within the first lazy chunk of the spawn chunks.
Screenshot 3: Somewhere random really high up, Carpet mod shows that I have no hostile mobs in the mob cap, mobs spawn at night.
Did they change anything with spawn chunks that I'm not aware of?

Meme/Meta I designed the best breeze rod farm in minecraft
I wanted to create a best breeze rod farm in survival but the best one I could found is one with the portal generating a stack of breeze rods in 2 hours of afk. So I put some efforts and build the best possible breeze rod farm
I created the best breeze rod farm. A normal (portal) version generates 32 breeze/h. While improved version generates 96 breeze rods/h. You can connect multiple spawners genrating double/tripple 198/288 breeze rods/h.
Before I put some more info about it. I wanted to know how many of you are intrested?

Java Help Wanted Best World Eater design for a ~300x300 crater in 1.26.2 Hardcore?
Hi!
I'm 400 days into my Hardcore world and finally starting my first megaproject (no main base yet!). I'm building the Evangelion 3.0 Central Dogma crater / NERV HQ complex.
The inner crater footprint is roughly ~300x300 blocks (from the inside of the crater outline).
A few technical questions for the experts:
- What World Eater or trenching machine design would you recommend for a ~300-block span in modern Java (1.26.2+)? Looking for something reliable with liquid pushers/sweepers, as there's water inside the perimeter.
- What's the safest way to keep the entire machine loaded while running in Hardcore? Is cranking my Simulation Distance to 32 enough on singleplayer, or should I be running Portal Chunk Loaders on the docking stations?
- What is the safest Simulation/Render distance margin so no part of the machine hits unloaded chunks and blows up?

Java Help Wanted Mob Cap Broken In Overworld
So for some reason the mob cap or something broke in the Overworld on my survival world, I tried a backup I made when updating and it has the exact same problem. Cannot get MO on the f3 menu to go below 79, hostile mobs don't spawn anywhere in the Overworld, I've tried gamerule and difficulty and so far nothing has worked at all. The problem doesn't exist on other worlds either.
Is my world corrupted or something I have no idea how to fix this.

Bedrock Bedrock: How far away can I AFK from an iron farm? Details inside.
Okay, so I started a new Bedrock world, made a base inside a village, and then made an iron farm 150 blocks away from the village. Iron far works perfectly. However, when I am inside my base, which is 158 blocks away from the farthest edge of the farm, it doesn't run.
My simulation distance is set to 12 chunks. Using chunkbase seed map to visualize the chunk margins, I should be 10 chunks away.
So, my questions are:
Do iron golem farms work on simulation distance, or mob spawning distance, and are those two things different?
What is the farthest I can actually be from the iron farm and still have it run?
Is there some other nonsense I'm just missing?
Ultimately I'd like to have a centralized AFK spot to build a hub and spoke type setup, but I need to figure out where I can even be first.

Java Help Wanted Looking to get into technical minecraft but I have no idea where to start
Honestly I just find big machines moving and doing things really fun, it's like I'm at a theme park. I recently joined a server and someone there has these incredible farms, and whilst they admit they aren't their designs, the fact they still understand how anything works and is able to look at it and know how something breaks just blows my mind.
What resources can yall point me towards so I can dive in to learning about all of this. I basically know nothing outside the minecraft basic mechanics the game expects. To be honest, I kind of just throw chickens everywhere at the moment 😅

Java Help Wanted Minecart detector need help
galleryI am trying to make something that will detect when there is no longer a minecart on my track. When there's no movement on the detector rail for awhile the compatator clock should slowly turn off, but it goes a little crazy and fires my dispenser 3 or more times
If this can be smaller or more compact, I would also prefer that, I have just been messing with the idea. If anyone could provide a working schematic or description of how to fix

Bedrock Chest to hopper minecart routing issue
I am trying to make two opposing automatic smelters using hopper minecarts in my base. They are both built EXACTLY the same. However, when placing materials in one of the smelters everything goes into the minecart hopper for the furnaces' fuel. Is there a fix for this or is my game just cooked.... or maybe I'm stupid who knows. Any help would be appreciated.

Bedrock Made this unloader but if it has more that 2 stacks in it then it doesn't stop
If I have less than 2 stacks it works
