"Muthu Mani - Dorothy" is an absolute gem of a song, and I adore its lyrics. Learning that Ilaiyaraaja penned them himself made it even more special. Listening to it outside the movie's context, it feels like a father grieving the loss of his beloved daughter, Bhavatharini. Watching the film makes the lyrics feel even more poignant and apt. It’s amazing how he managed to layer such beautiful, sorrowful lyrics underneath a deceptively peppy tone.

Songs name : pazhaya sogangal from era vizhi kaviyangal

I actually like this song more than Muthumani and Kalyani Virunthu. Makes me want to listen several times.

While Muthumani is great in its own right, "onnu thotta" is exotic in terms of unique instruments, tribalistic chorus, and the voice variations of the three singers. It kind of reminds of "aasiya kaathula" song, but seems underrated in this album.

Refreshing to hear a simple, old school song like this with clear vocals and rich instruments in this era of experimental "songs".
