I wanted to know how is Mari/Ranjith films different from each other
How is both of their films different from each
Even other makers and director or writers also
Writting, ideologies politics or be it anything..
And also about other community portrayed or makers who exclusive make on certain topics and all
For example kamal hassan is very much known for criticising iyers actually and showing hypocrisy and encourages atheism
And has different views and ideologies and politics questioning god or emphasising on forgiveness and being against capital punishment

Suggest some Tamil feel-good romantic movies like Engeyum Kadhal and Santhosh Subramaniyam ❤️
I’m looking for Tamil movies with that old-school feel-good vibe, preferably from the 2000s or early 2010s.
Something like Engeyum Kadhal, Santhosh Subramaniyam, or even 7G Rainbow Colony (though I’m looking for more feel-good movies than sad or depressing ones).
I want good romance, cute moments, beautiful songs, and that nostalgic vibe. Not too old, and please suggest movies that are actually engaging, not boring or slow-paced just for the sake of romance.
What are your favourites? 🥹❤️

Searching for an 80s Tamil movie likely featuring Prabhu Ganesan. Help needed.
EDIT: This has been found by ToNobodysSurprise. It turns out, mom has been misidentifying the actor. The actual movie is Aaj (1987), and the song is Zindagi Roz Naye. Thanks to everyone who has commented suggestions.
So, my mother used to have a VHS recording her dad recorded off the TV in the 80s, of a single song scene from an unknown Tamil movie. She lost it in a fire and was never able to find the actual source. Neither of us speak the language so the only words she could make out were "zindagi", being repeated three times, and possibly the word "dushman". She's confident one of the main actors is Prabhu Ganesan.
According to her, the scene starts with a girl coming home at night (she's wearing casual clothes, probably red - heels, skirt, and she has straight hair) and walking into the living room. Her father(?) is there sitting in an armchair surrounded by a bunch of male friends, all wearing white.
She's upset and goes upstairs to her room without greeting any of them, and makes a phone call while sitting at a desk and looking sad. Prabhu's character listens in on the conversation through another phone(?) and nods to her father.
She then sits at the stairs while drinking what looks like red wine, while the men downstairs sing the "zindagi" song in a chorus. They are sitting cross legged while they sing. She eventually comes down and throws what looks like a bunch of money at them, clearly drunk.
Prabhu takes her back upstairs to her room, and the recording ends.
I have looked through a bunch of 80s Prabhu movies and still haven't found the particular song. There was another scene on the VHS of Prabhu's character in a room being made fun of by a bunch of other men, but I'm not sure if it's the same movie.
Anyone know what this is from?

I learn an interesting theory about tamil references in Malayalam movies
Askwd my malayali friend about it
He quoted an example of this movie
It's a movie inspired from Baasha template used many references
He was like tamil references and all is very common in Malayalam movies or real life
So he told , during those 90s 2000s -2010 malayalam movies was at its bottom
Every movie was a cheap rip off of tamil and telugu movies as those movies became a huge success in kerala ..
This contributed to increase in tamil movies and songs been seen and heard in kerala and also being part of their culture.
He told like they see a tamizh movie like a malayalam movie itself, even songs many of them actually use it a lot in their daily life

[Archival / Sharing] Untouched 1:1 Digital Backups from my Personal Tamil BD50 Blu-Ray Collection (Sivaji, Mankatha, Raavanan, 24, VTV & more) - Preserving uncompressed master quality!
I want to address the elephant in the room right off the bat: this is not a commercial hustle, and these are not pirated internet re-encodes or web rips.
As a dedicated physical media collector, my shelves are lined with original Tamil Blu-ray discs. Anyone who loves cinema knows that OTT platforms compress the life out of video bitrates and choke the audio. To preserve these films in their absolute purest form, I created direct 1:1 untouched disc backups (BD50) straight from my own physical discs. Every bit of original video bitrate and lossless multi-channel DTS-HD MA / Dolby TrueHD audio is 100% intact exactly as authored on the disc.
A lot of these physical discs are now out of print, insanely hard to source, or prohibitively expensive for most film buffs. I’m doing this purely for the love of the game, I want fellow cinephiles, home theatre owners, and audiophiles to experience these films the way the sound designers and cinematographers intended.
On Pricing & Contributions:
There is no fixed price, no paywall, and no rate card.
I’m doing this to share the collection with people who genuinely appreciate master-quality presentation. Whatever amount you wish to quote or chip in as a token contribution purely to help offset the massive cloud storage and bandwidth hosting costs is entirely up to you. If you value physical-grade preservation, you're welcome to quote whatever feels right.
What You Get:
Source: 1:1 direct personal physical disc dump (zero compression, zero re-encoding).
Video: Native 1080p full-disc bitrate.
Audio: Untouched DTS-HD Master Audio / Dolby TrueHD / Uncompressed PCM tracks.
If you have a dedicated 5.1/7.1 sound setup, an OLED panel, or just a deep love for uncompressed Tamil cinema, feel free to drop a comment or shoot me a DM. Let’s talk cinema and get these master copies into the hands of people who actually care about audio-visual fidelity.

Appreciation for showing atheism in tamil movies
Let's be honest
No other industry had the guts to show atheism like our tamil industry
Your thoughts
How it started , how it influenced u and other and any stories or experience or movies
