Questions/Advice tall(er) and still want a taller woman
185-186 M here, and I strangely feel more butterflies when I see a woman who's taller than me, or around the 180-183 range at least. I wouldn't mind dating anyone regardless of height, but my heart tells me sometimes I'd absolutely have hearts in my eyes on a night out if my partner towered over me with heels on.
Am I weird for this?

Discussion How do you handle cramped bus seats for taller players on away games?
Driving the team to away games gets awkward fast when the bus seats are cramped. My tallest lineman sits sideways half the time just to fit his knees. We end up spreading guys across rows so their legs don't go numb before kickoff. I asked the transportation office if they can hold a couple activity buses with extra legroom for the taller kids. So far they act like it's not a big deal until they see the photos of guys folded up like pretzels. Any other coaches here pushed their schools for a taller-friendly option on road trips? What actually worked?

Questions/Advice Night Walks. I don't want to come off scary or intimidating
Hey r/tall. I'm a pretty tall guy, 6'2" late 20s. I love to walk and go out every day. When I get home from work now it is almost completely dark and I like to walk or sprint a couple laps around the neighborhood. My clothes are all dark and I'm a skinny white guy with AirPods and a big bottle.
When I pass people I wave and smile and receive it back, but this is during the day. More recently when I have women or sometimes men coming in my direction I step off the sidewalk to let them pass and hop back on, giving them a quick smile or wave if they look over. I know it's for safety, especially at night, so I don't take it personally, but for the tall guys, what do you do on your walks? For women, any suggestions or advice?
Edit: this was supposed to be a serious thread but I'm having way too much fun and cracking up lol

Questions/Advice Criss Cross Comfy Office Chair
Hi everyone. I have no idea why it took me so long to discover this community. Glad I did. I have looked through some of the old posts about office chairs but did not see anything about my specific need.
I am 6’5”, 250. I am a therapist and would love to find a chair that would be more comfortable for sitting different ways on long Telehealth days but still functional for office desk stuff.
I have seen some recommendations in therapist groups but I feel like the models in ads look like more petite people.
Anyone have a recommendation? I am early in my career so under $500 would be great if possible.

Discussion Adjustable beds
Curious if anyone has had an adjustable bed and if it worked with their height? I really want one to be able to read in bed but worried the bends will be in the wrong places.

Miscellaneous my legs were actually too long for a bus seat today
i know i’m not very tall compared to most people here, but i am 5’11 (180 cm) as a woman with a 38 inch inseam (97 cm)
i was sitting in one of the elevated seats where the bus transitions from the lower level to the upper level. so it was slightly smaller than some of the other seats
it was only once more passengers got on and i was trying to make room in case someone sat beside me that i realised that my legs were actually too long to sit properly. when i tried to move my legs i just pushed the seat in front of me with my knees. i had to sit with my legs to the side and probably looked like a massive prick
what a weird experience, how about some more leg room, bus companies ?

Rant Tall people problem
Can't see the lights when I stand close enough to touch the buttons (and the buttons are pretty much unreadable because they are in the shade).

Discussion Any tall navy or marine vets?
I’ve started volunteering on a decommissioned aircraft carrier that’s turned into a museum(The USS Midway) and it’s so high key hazardous as a tall person. I constantly have to duck, hunch over and make sure to try and not bonk my head on things. I’m not even that tall, I can’t imagine what it would be like if I was taller. What was it like for any tall Navy or Marine veterans? Were you constantly uncomfortable and having to watch your head?? Everything seems to have been made ergonomically with average height or below people exclusively in mind.

Discussion I never thought ceiling height would come into play during the house hunt…
Obviously we all know we need a tall ceiling. But I never realized just how many houses can’t even support 6 foot 3.

Questions/Advice has anyone lost 50LBS+ and gained a bit of height?
forsure losing weight won't make your bones grow longer, but I wonder how much pressure weight puts on the spine, making an individual "lose height".

Questions/Advice Am I ducking wrong?
Recently I’ve been made aware that I kind of hold my head in a weird way when I walk, where I keep my head kind of pushed forward and down. Now when I sit at my desk I keep my posture in check because I didn’t want more back and neck problems but when I walk I sort of automate back to the weird neck position.
After some time I noticed that it might be because when I duck beneath short obstacles I take that exact position and don’t revert back. Should I duck differently or does anyone have a tip on how to get rid of that behavior?

Rant Government should require low hanging obeject signs
In america they have signs for wet floors which got me thinking anything under 8 feet above the ground should have caution signs for us as well. I shouldn't have to feel the need to wear a helmet just to walk into a place

Discussion Have you ever heard people talking about you?
I was shopping last week and heard a group of guys who were walking in my direction. One of them told another to go talk to me, then the other guy said no because I’m too tall. They’re all around my height (5’10”) btw. I’m not looking for male attention/to be asked out, but it just made me feel bad because they were loud enough for me to hear it and then I had to walk past them like I didn’t hear them and see them watching me. Anyone else experience stuff like this?
Discussion 6'2", 300 lbs, desk job from home. The tall person office chair fixes that worked for me, and the ones that didn't.
Working from home puts me in a desk chair for most of the day. At 6'2" and 300 lbs I've spent two years trying to make a normal office chair fit instead of buying yet another one. Some of it worked.
What worked. Raising the desk on risers so the armrests could come up with it. Before that my shoulders were up around my ears by lunch.
A taller gas cylinder, which I didn't know was a thing you could buy until a coworker mentioned it, and my knees stopped sitting higher than my hips. Moving the lumbar pillow way higher than the instructions say. On a chair built around someone 5'10", lumbar lands on my belt.
Seat cushions, every one of them. They made the seat shorter, and the front edge was already ending mid thigh.
Also the big and tall ergonomic chairs at the office store. Wider seat, same short depth, same backrest that stops somewhere around my mid back. Big and tall mostly means big.
The height range is the part I now check on every tall person office chair page. Most of them top out around 6'0" or 6'1". The Lavenne R9 Pro is one of the few that lists more, 160 to 190 cm (about 6'3") and a 350 lb rating, so on paper both numbers clear me with a little room. From what I can tell it only launched recently, and a spec sheet still doesn't tell me where my legs actually end up.
For the 6'2" and up people working from home, what did you change on the chair you already had, and what made you give up on it?

Questions/Advice what is the average height that you find males lie about their height? - short tall guy
Like for a 5‘9” guy who lies about being 5’10” or 11” , i feel this is the most common. short guys like to give themselves 2 inches z
im short tall im only 184.5 just above 6 foot but when i wear shoes im about 186cm and my 5’11” friends who say there 6 foot then claim im 6’2” when im barely even scratching 6’1”, so it makes me feel like a fraud
also that brings me to another point do any short tall guys feel like a fraud when people call you tall bc i do lol especially bc my friends are all taller than me

Questions/Advice Sports for tall kids
Hi tall people!
My son started kindergarten this year. He is pretty active and wants to try some sports. He's already tall for his age, but the doctor expects him to grow to be about 6'6-6'8". My husband is 6'8". I'd love for my son to try different things and see what he enjoys. But some suggestions for tall kids would be appreciated. May as well use the advantage he has!
Thanks all!

Rant How to finally feel confident?
Hey guys, I'm around 5'8, 14 and AFAB, and i hate it. I feel like there's a general vibe of 'oh, you're transmasc so you're lucky you're already tall' but i just hate it so much.
i started getting very insecure and self-conscious when i was 11, i was 5'4 then but i was way taller than all of my friends. it was especially bad around then- i would try to be sitting down as much as i possibly could to avoid having to look down on someone shorter.
i still feel incredibly awkward, and the constant comments don't help. there's so much love and support for shorter people who aren't happy with their height. i feel like everyone wants to be tall but i just hate it so much! i know i should be thankful but i feel like i would give almost anything to be shorter.
does anyone relate to this? i feel so awful with my body
