Edit: Actually, as I have AMC on right now I noticed another shorter (non-Barcadi) bumper as well that's more focused on clips of the movies showing but these don't appear to be uploaded.

Wishing a very happy birthday to none other than the Crypt Keeper himself, John Kassir, who turns 69 today. A brilliant and talented actor who's vocal performance as the Crypt Keeper truly brought the character to life and fit perfectly with the ghoulish design of Kevin Yagher's amazingly designed and crafted puppet. The combination of the voice and puppet helped create one of Horror's most unforgettable and memorable characters. Kassir by all accounts is one of the nicest, funniest and most easygoing people you'll ever meet and he clearly loves meeting fans and interacting with them. Here's to him being in excellent health and with us for many more years from now and hopefully he gets more opportunities to reprise his most iconic character.

I put together a TV channel for the Tales from the Cryptkeeper cartoon if anyone wants to watch. It runs episodes back to back, so there's always one on.

I haven't caught any.

Finally managed to buy all 7 seasons new. I posted a few months ago on buying the big box and cracking some disks. Supposedly all these from ebay are factory sealed. My season 5 looks like it was resealed but whatever im happy. I now have plenty of disks. Thought I'd share and thanks for all the advice and pointers!

These photos were shot by a photographer named Sam Emerson, but only one was utilized for Hatcher's appearance in an episode of Season 2 - The Thing from the Grave.

What are the TFTC episodes that to you are the most comic book-like in trying to visually replicate the look of the EC Comics? With things like the camera angles, lighting, use of colors, etc.?

For me, the ones I feel really mimic the look of the original comics include Dead Right, Cutting Cards, Til Death and The Secret. Which coincedentally enough were all in Season 2, which in hindsight seemed to be the season that really most tried to be like the comics both with the look and feel. It certainly succeeded very well at it.

According to the TFTC Archives book by the late Digby Diehl, these two actors were the original choices for Brayker (TLJ) and The Collector (Chris Sarandon) in Demon Knight when it was originally in development in the late 80s, well before it became involved with TFTC. Sarandon would eventually be apart of TFTC with Bordello Of Blood, while TLJ sadly never did (always thought he would've been cool to have seen in an episode of the series). While both William Sadler and Billy Zane were perfectly casted in the film and did amazing jobs, I also think TLJ and Sarandon would've been good alternate choices and it's interesting to speculate how the characters might've been had they been depicted by them. It's a case of trading two good actors for two other good actors.

Ok so I watched this episode and John Stamos is a sugar baby to an old lady who is inexplicably in control of the Italian mafia in her area…Sugar Mommy tries to get Stamos to kill young blonde cocktail waitress love interest. In the moment of decision, he kills the monsters with him and makes an attempt on Sugar Mommy’s life. He acts out a revenge plot fit for John Wick with his most recent love interest who ultimately betrays him. They kill all the mobsters and the old lady. The love interest kills him after they empty sugar momma’s safe then he seemingly wakes up in the woods the monsters are alive and he is at the decision point to kill new gf. He kills her.
Was this a premonition? Or was he simply imagining a false reality cuz he’s crazy. P

Maybe this is a hot take, maybe not, but I feel like if horror had been taken as seriously when Demon Knight was made as it seems to be now, Billy Zane would have won an award for his performance. I consider myself a big movie fan (in pretty much every genre), and his performance is still one of my favorites ever. He sells that part like nobody could.

Tales from the crypt is streaming on tubi 100% free! Last time I found it streaming I posted the information here and it was for one free episode on Amazon I think, however TUBI is streaming the seasons free of charge can’t say for sure all seasons but from the looks of it they are all available to stream on TUBI.
