I'm shooting my shot here just in case they see this, but I was SGE and they were WAR, we were almost at the final boss when the tank talked about how Voeburt is reminiscent of Ishgard and I wanted to talk about how the reflections are well, alternate versions of The Source when all of a sudden my power shat itself unprompted (no emergency posts or announcements, there is one supposed to be later today as of posting) and the dungeon ended when I logged back in like 10 minutes later...

Anyway, I didn't mean to disconnect right before the final boss and I would've loved to talk about game lore 🥲 sadly the contacts function is useless because trying to send a friend request needs the player to be found on a world

Just a bit of fun in levelling roulette from a few days ago.

Stone Vigil. I (SGE) was getting hit in the face repeatedly on the way to the first room. Died but kept the tank up. Tank (PLD) pauses by my sprout corpse, thinks it's a teaching moment, and then realizes what actually happened. DPS quickly catch on.

Rest of the dungeon goes by efficiently, with tank pulling both sets of ice sprites and thanking me for keeping him alive. Prolly trying to finish the dungeon before they died of embarrassment. But honestly it was some good tanking, and the whole exchange made my day.

Photo doesn’t show much, but long story short, was doing Anti-tower for Bitter memories for my resistance relic.

The DRK didn’t use tank stance, they had tank stance on hot bar because they used it once at the start. I would forgive and forget if they were new to tanking, but they didn’t even attack for most of the dungeon and had the weapon dropped from Hades extreme which shows they are atleast post ShB, they just stood there. Nobody really talked so I have no idea what’s going on in their head, probably trolling.

We managed to make it through the dungeon just fine thanks to Sage and because Anti-tower isn’t hard. Just annoying, very annoying.

We ran Prae, and in sections between bosses/trash, the healer and both DPS (I was one of the DPS) used sprint to get to the next fight quickly. Tank apparently didn't like that.

(The "one of your party is new to the dungeon" text never happened either, so I assume the tank wasn't new)

Logged in to see if I got a house (I did finally!!), sat down in my new empty house and went to shower. Another bidder must have come in very angry and wants me banned?? Also I don't have an alt I'm just learning white mage.

I've been trying for months to get a house too but damn, its an online house chill dude.

So i que in on my healer and get fractal continuum as part of my dailies and get a tank who is a fresh lvl 60 gunbreaker. And for some odd reason they que up with no chest or pants on. I'm not talking about glamour related mind you, they literally just took off their chest and pants and queued up. So we start and the enemies are attacking everyone despite them having tank stance on. Turns out this tank was just single targeting and i spent more time healing everyone else and myself more than the tank. We make in to the first boss and the tank get hit by everything and dies. After i rez them the tank for some reason doesn't provoke the boss attacking the Black mage causing them to get hit by the tank buster and die. We beat the boss and i decided to bounce out and leave because regardless of what we said, the tank wasn't listening. And no one could kick them because they didn't roll on gear. Before i had left, someone had called the tank out for not aoe'ing, only for them to reply "I provoke" which they didn't at all.

MCH here. Loaded into Stone Vigil with a Gladiator, and apparently the job stone broke... Don't know what to think of the 'I'm underlevelled' comment – wasn't sure if they were trying to be funny or not, but nothing in particular happened.

The sprout WHM worked their ass off to keep the GLD alive, and the other DPS never said anything throughout the dungeon. The 'bruh' and 'man' were me being a chud, and the dragon flew away before I could finish my Hypercharge.

Bonus story with the TOP GLD: It was pretty funny loading into Stone Vigil and finding out the mentor was a Gladiator with TOP weapons. Our healer d/c'd after the second boss, and we decided to just pull ourselves anyways. It was scary, I used Sleep (was on BLM) for the Ice Sprites because they were kicking my tank's ass, and at one point they shirked us to use us as meat shields. Scuffed but we survived.

Sharing some positive Tales bc I think really we need them this late into the patch DF experience

Roulette into Dohn Meg twice recently, had the opportunity to teach two tanks (and a phys range) about interrupts. Today's tank even managed to immediately put the advice to practice as we still had one trash pull with interrupt ahead of us. Really nice to see advice well received and to be able to teach others how to make runs go smoother

I thought I was tripping the entire dungeon and assumed it was my mistake not seeing it and had to upload the log to confirm. TBH their damage wasn’t all that bad all things considered…

They sent their first message after they wiped half the party by flipping Isgebind’s attack towards them at the last second. They left immediately after sending their last message

I've heard the stories about some people using speed hacks in Frontlines to gain an unfair advantage. While I've never seen one (or maybe I just didn't notice because everything's just pure chaos in FL), I don't doubt their existence.

This one however is an extraordinary case. The sheer audacity to be doing this knowing full well they could be reported.

(And yes, I've already reported them and have encouraged others in our alliance to do the same.)

With enough determination and willpower, sometimes you can fix stupid and sometimes you can be a miracle worker if you know the fight and your kit well enough

After a day of chaotic Forked Tower runs, I made the half asleep decision to hit things in expert before bed and was dropped into Mistwake. Was clear right off the bat that something wasn't right so once the first boss finally died, dance partner was swapped to the SGE who was actually pumping and running ahead for stacks.

"You don't pay my sub" "let people play how they want" and all that, but for the love of eff if you're gonna queue into content with others, please be respectful of their time, press your buttons, and have a general idea of what they do.

Got to the mobs .5 seconds before the tank on some pulls who never used sprint. Tank would turn off tank stance and leave most of us tanking bosses / majority of the dungeon.

Wasn't too difficult, good SCH and BLM pumping great damage and killing things fast. Opted to ignore the Tank and just keep fighting / working with the others in the party instead of engaging.

Guy gets kicked before end of duty, at which point he jumps worlds to pull the classic Tell + immediately transfer because to get the last word.

So I reported him to the GM for harassment. :)

To the Sam from Ultros, you know who you are. Running ahead of me, the tank, and pulling every other pack while using Arm's Length as the Lala in a bear suit my hats off to you. I know we already talked about this in the duty, but thank you for making my last mentor rolo of the night a good one.

Popped Mentor Roulette as Gunbreaker and got a 21m refill into Saint Mocianne's Arboreum (Hard), saw that the party was in combat and popped the shortcut ASAP, only to find the final boss at 30% with the gigachad Scholar keeping everyone in prime condition despite the occasional failed mechanic.

Without any tank assistance, they cleared, so I was relegated to just congratulating them for the clear. The only objection I had was that I got any commendations at all after the duty, when I did literally nothing!

Expert roulette, load into the clyteum, I'm healing, lets go. We finish the FIRST PULL. and tank says this and instantly vanishes. It didn't feel any different from a normal pull! I have no idea what he thinks would have been fast enough.

Our replacement tank loaded in pretty quick after that and was great! But holy hell what kind of insane ultimate parser asshat do you have to be....

I get not everyone cares to PvP. I used to be way too into it and got extremely salty when my team wouldn’t fight or go for an objective. Now, after taking time away from it I’m learning to just have fun and be a murder hobo (currently playing mech, but main nin). What is now bothersome is seeing people just refuse to participate, whether it’s just running the edge of the map or standing in the middle of nowhere and dancing. I get that some people don’t wanna do the minimum requirement for stuff nowadays, but why queue for something you’re just going to afk in. Guess I’m putting to much logic into this thought

Ran into someone in Haukke who had decided to macro a message to practically every spell (but not raise), including the attack spells.

I'm not a native German speaker, so all I have are loose translations:

after the DRK went down outside the last cell, which was a good try, we didn't wipe, but maybe a bit optimistic for the group, certainly not something they needed negative feedback over.

Edit: Since it's come up so much: They were a level 37 CNJ, synced down to level 31.

The Job quests unlock after a level 20 MSQ, and Haukke is at level 28 MSQ, so everyone in there has done the prerequisite MSQ for getting a job stone.

I don't know how many, if any, of their class quests they've done, but Cure 2 is a level 30 class quest unlock, which, going by the amount of Cure 1 they were throwing around, was not something they had unlocked.

So we could've had a level 31 WHM throwing Cure 2, but we got a level 31 CNJ throwing Cure 1 with a ich heile dich message macro.

So I’ve been playing for years and am not a sprout by any means, but I am super new to tanking. I just started leveling PLD recently and queued for a leveling roulette this morning. Pop into Dzemael Darkhold, friendly greetings between me and the two bards and we get moving.

I pulled wall to wall. Stop to work the mob down and notice despite using my mits the sage is not shielding or healing me at all and my health is dropping to where I’m about to die.

Then the Sage rescues me out of the mob and starts sprinting towards the boss. They pull the boss when nobody else is even in the room. I immediately die to the still existing mob. Sprout bard tries to fight the boss and the sage lets them die too while they shield themselves and solo the boss. Shoot a message in chat saying hey, I’m new to PLD and not comfortable pulling everything into the boss arena.

Their response was, “Just do it.” I say more firmly I don’t want to do that. They respond with “fine by me,” but I gather this was, in fact, NOT fine by them as they proceeded not to shield or heal me for the majority of the rest of the dungeon. I died another two times despite using what mits I have at this level.

I couldn’t initiate a vote dismiss as every time I tried to stop for a second to do so, they sprinted ahead to pull more enemies and refused to roll on loot so. This was probably intentional.

Anyway, first time in a long time I’ve dealt with such a pushy person griefing for no reason. Thankfully, the two bards were supportive, told me to do what I’m comfortable with and one said they noticed the Sage was intentionally letting me die. I reported the behavior. But unfortunately, maybe im overreacting but I’m nervous to queue as a tank again despite knowing most people aren’t like this. Just wanted to share.
