Why was Trinity lying about Trinity Hall?

I applied as a first-year undergraduate student who just moved here from Berlin. I also had a letter from my doctor to support my disability application. Trinity Hall said that the reason I didn't get a place was because even in this category, there were too many applications.

Now that I know some of my classmates, many of them got a place there without a disability, with no financial issues, and they are from Ireland.

Why were they lying about this?

Exam date children integrated nursing

Hey everyone, so I need to book flights for the Christmas break. As a JF nursing student, we have 1 in person MCQ exam for our health promotion module. I wanted to ask if anyone who is in 2nd year or above can let me know what date their MCQ was done on. I just want a rough idea of when my MCQ will happen and also when the exam timetables get released. Thx so much!

Returning student to Trinity for postgrad

I did my undergraduate in Trinity, but feel like I barely scratched the surface in terms of things to do, amenities to take advantage of, etc etc.

What are some lesser known (or even well known) things that students can take advantage of?

Very excited to be back. It's only when one leaves the setting they realise how much they miss it.

Walking around campus I see that there is a DJ every Friday night at the Pav? I don't drink but this wasn't happening during our time. Anyway...

Printing House Square vs Cork Street

Hi, incoming exchange student here. As a part of my application I have to submit an accomodation preference, with the two options I have been given being Printing House Square and Cork Street. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the vibes of the two buildings. I am hoping to meet a mix of other exchange students and Trinity students, and am really looking for the college experience.

Thx.

WHY IS IT FREEZING IN THE LIBRARY??????

no, genuinely... i couldn't even last a few minutes there despite being dressed for the weather (looked around and everyone else was fine or acting fine so maybe it is a me problem). is there no heating system or do they refuse to turn it on until later? i ended up going to the upper floors in the arts block to study because they're slightly warmer at the cost of not being as quiet or spacious 🙃

Screws under the leaky chairs

On top of the library being freezing cold, this is the second time today that my hand has been impaled by a screw underneath the chair fabric. I don’t know how that is even allowed by the college, has this happened to any one else??? They’re usually around the perimeter of the seat where you grip.

Seeking Photographer for Graduation

Hi all,

I’m graduating from Trinity on Wednesday 28 October and am looking for a professional photographer from roughly 12pm to 1.30pm.

It would mainly be photos of me in the atrium, possibly a few others around campus, plus editing.

If you’re available, please DM me with your rate and a link to your portfolio.

Thanks.

masters application CV help

hi everyone, i'm in my final year at UCD applying for the MA in Screen Studies for next year, part of the application is a 'academic and professional CV' and i'm struggling with what to include for the academic side. my undergrad is a joint honours, all module based so i can't even use a dissertation as an example. i've written down a few modules from the film side, along with society activities & relavant job experience i have. beyond this though based on examples i've found online i appear to be seriously lacking...

any tips from current MA students?

Do I have the right to enter the buildings if I only have my digital ID from the app?

Today before 20:00 I wanted to enter the Student Union Building before I reached the Library cause I really had to pee, and I don’t have yet my physical card as my registration is in delay. I am first year student.

I asked 3 people in front of the building if they could open it for me as I only have the digital, and they looked really suspicious and refused to open it for me.
Then I went to the security man at the entrance if he could open it, I explained him why I don’t have yet and he also looked very suspicious. He also asked what kind of class I have there …
Then I said I want to use the bathroom and he only opened for me the one building in front of him. And he told me again that it is for student and staff. Like he hadn’t even believed my word even though I showed him the ID in my app.

Is anyone here in this program? How long was the process from submitting your application to a decision?

Also for the CV aspect of the application, how did you format it?

Trinity for finance? Acceptance rates and honest opinions

I’m considering Trinity for undergrad, especially Global Business/BESS, with the goal of going into finance/IB/PE. How competitive is admission for international students, and are there any reliable acceptance rate figures? Also how are the finance opportunities and internships, and is the degree worth the cost?

Do you guys usually pay for sports classes?

So I’ve been going to a few sports classes (yoga, pilates, HIIT cycle etc.) at the gym and I would usually book and pay for them in advance through the tcd sports app but I’m just wondering if that’s necessary since I’ve never seen anyone check if I actually paid for the class or not. The classes are super cheap, only 4 to 5 euros, but the cost does add up if I take these classes often so I’m just wondering what other people do and if it is really necessary to pay for them.

Want to go out and meet new people in college? I made a free site that matches you with people from dublin colleges with similar interests so you can go out in Dublin.

Going on nights out in Dublin is great, but organising a group or finding people who are actually up for going out can be a pain.

I made YurOut, an app designed to help Dublin college students find people to go on nights out with. The idea is simple: meet other students who are up for the same kind of night out, connect with people, and make plans together.

If that sounds useful to you, check it out here:

https://yurout.vercel.app/

Would love to hear what you think or what features you'd want to see added!

Any shower or changing facilities that can be used without paying for the gym? (Staff member here). Considering cycling into work, running at lunch and would like to shower after.
