Self-promotion I'm making a football career sim where your first job doesn't have to be your last

I'm working on Football Transfer Insider, a PC football career sim.

The idea is to build a football world where your reputation, contacts and career decisions actually follow you.

I'm starting with transfer journalism gameplay. Scouting, football agency and management are planned as connected careers, with club ownership as a longer-term goal.

Still early in development, but here's a look at the project so far.

Football Transfer Insider is on Steam if anyone wants to follow its development.

DevPost Trading blows. GUI build in progress.

I posted here some time back with a WIP video and it blew up somewhat! So thanks all. Im back with progress of probably 100 hours GUI work.

Trading blows is a 96 player (NPC human mix) turn based full strategic and tactical war game

My vision for the GUI is any one of us is thrown behind a clandestine command terminal in a civil war, not long from now. Our resources are limited and our tools are cobbled together out of surplus kit. It works imperfectly! I want to be sparse on animation in the game itself aside from the action replay. This is a turn based game, the effect of jumping from strategic to tactical views should be jarring and uncomfortable for the player. Exposing them to the consequences of decisions made almost in a computer game.

Im using AI, i want my vision down on the page exactly and AI can do that. AI lets us build anything we can imagine. And i went pretty left field! I decided to animate my GUI to try to capture this vision. I especially like the theatre map dialog boxes popping up from a white dot, this is intentional and akin to an old CRT monitor turning on (those of you who can remember those, props!)

So I've still got lots of GUI work to do, smoothing workflows out, making everything ergonomic but it feels like my vision is starting to appear in game for the GUI anyway.

The full game is months away, too far to warrant a launch date. But i hope to see a few of you in game when its done!

DevPost Which medieval civilizations would you love to see in a new RTS game?

Hey RTS fans!

I'm a solo developer working on Wars of Empire, a medieval-inspired 2D isometric RTS.

The game currently features five playable civilizations:

  • Byzantines
  • Ottomans
  • Britons
  • Huns
  • Chinese

I'm now thinking about which civilizations to introduce next, and I'd love to hear what fellow RTS players think.

Some candidates on my list are Vikings, Japanese, Mongols, Franks, Persians, Mamluks, Malians, and Seljuks.

I'm primarily focusing on the Middle Ages and closely related historical periods, rather than civilizations from entirely different eras.

One thing I really want to get right is making each civilization feel unique in gameplay, not just visually. Different military tactics, special units, buildings, technologies, and economic strengths.

If you could pick just ONE civilization to add, which would it be, and what unique gameplay mechanic should it bring?

I'm genuinely curious about your ideas!

Yellow!

We have launched a small demo/preview of the tower defence game we are working on :D

It only have 3 (hand crafted) maps so far but hopefully it will be enough to give you and idea of how the game is played and what it is about!

We're constantly looking for feedback (especially from tower defence and strategy fans) so if you have any hindsight or thought we'll be glad to read them.

I hope this is authorized here, so I'm going to leave the steam link to the demo below (please mods, if its not allowed, let me know!) but just in case, the game is named "Hivetide".

Steam Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5201750/Hivetide/

Thank you very much for taking the time to read me!

been making this 2D style game inspired by Bannerlord and old school Flash games for us Millennials, where you can recruit units and upgrade them. The weapons can break and there are backup weapons for all troops. Cavalry momentum and charge is designed to be realistic such as transition from walk to canter to trot, you can get dismounted and the weight of units matter.. and morale in this game actually make loosing troops retreat overtime particularly for militia. though armor is good in this game, lamellar armor can disintegrate overtime and all troops have a small chance of instant kill represented from getting hit in the neck or somewhere lethal. militia have the highest instant kill chance of 10% while elite cataphracts are like 0.01%.

Early Gunpowder units add variety and are not particularly lethal in the 13th century.

Factions:

Mongol, Jin, Song, Tangut, Tibet, Japan (Shimazu), Korea, Vietnam, Dali Kingdom.

5 Campaign stories based on history, work in progress. The Japanese Hakata Bay defence is mostly done.

Theres a Survival Defence mode similar to games like Mud and Blood 2 or tower defence games as a minigame mode.

Naval exploration is another minigame, work in progress.

Work in progress, looking for feedback

Yes AI was used in the development of this Game. I am one person making a hobby project and it is free. I work 3 jobs in real life and too busy to not use AI.

(16th century breech loading cannons and matchlocks are in custom battles inside custom faction)
