I don’t know not as beautiful as platinum or mythic. The blue yellow ribbon was awesome, this one looks very minimalist. But it’s a very welcome update regarding the new changes to the trophy system.

They need to bring this back, the blue popped more than the new minimalist garbage but thankfully it’s a beta so we just need to give feedback and hope they listen

Yes the ribbon must come back please 👍

From functionality point of view it's nice to see we are getting an update for an ancient achievement system. The visual look just ain't there yet.
Also I like data and having some of it hidden now feels bad.

We have the same amount of hours

I’m going for all achievements rn. I’m like 77% there. It’s been a journey but the perilous ones are still ahead lmao

There are a couple that are incredibly annoying if you didnt get them right when the killer came out. I was stuck on the one where you have to escape with Vecnas eye or hand for months and i'd get really anxious every time I went against one.

The Recent Activity tab doesn’t look too bad, but the “Completionist Showcase” looks terrible IMO

I get the minimalist thing, but this looks soulless. It is worse on the computer version, too.

Thank you! I really dislike it

Looks ugly. The minimalist style trophy looks bad too. Otherwise a good change but they better bring back game completion %

The achievement numbers still need some work, right now it just looks oddly placed. Did they get rid of the avg completion and total number of perfect games?

Also got rid of total number of achievements in completed games.

I was using an empty completionist showcase and now that one just says "completed games and groups" with a number. It's removed the achievement counter for that showcase.

The achievement showcase now has achievement count and "completed games and groups" - but has removed the overall completion %.

So I guess perfect games is still there, it's just counting all the achievement sets in your completed games rather than just the game count I think? e.g. Portal 2 has 2 achievement sets now so that game once it's completed counts as 2 instead of one.
Completion % does seem to be gone though.

I don't like it, completionist showcase now looks bleak

How it used to look like

u/Quantummn 14h ago

Yeah this looks so much better

Disagree, think the new UI is a downgrade versus this:

I liked it more when that blue progress bar changed color to whatever theme you were choosing.

Average completion rate to me always defeated the purpose of itself because you could never mark the games you actually wanted to complete. I have over 1200 games on Steam and I don't intend to play them but my average completion rate was down in the gutter even if I have 100% a lot of games.

2

u/Eviscerare 4h ago

Average completion rate doesn't include every game in your library; it only counts games that you've earned at least 1 achievement in.

I think there's a steam community forum post that has all the details about this system that's a pretty neat read if you're interested.

Mostly I like it but they got rid of the average competition rate statistic which is lame as hell

Yeah I had 89% and now it's gone, also the number of perfect games which is now games&groups...

u/stefneh5295 20h ago

I was wondering what it meant by "groups" - seems it also counts achievement sets in the perfect games total now? I'm not sure I like that honestly. I'm not sure if I'm understanding it wrong but I'd rather the counter go up when I 100% a game, not complete a set in a game and still have to do like half of the achievements for that game still?

My game average was only 49%, but i loved seeing it go up when i played different games
it gave me motivation, even
hope they bring it back, or make it optional at least

showing the pretty insignificant rare achievements does nothing but add clutter, and for the love of god add back avg completion rate

2

u/Suspicious_You563 19h ago

i love everything theey did butt
i think they could do better with the blue ribbon
its so minimal and simple
i like it more than last ribbon but they could do a lot better

2

u/Artuurs44 16h ago

While I like that the progress bar has a nice contrasting color, I did like the old ribbon more as it looked like a ribbon, now it is very minimalistic, and I personally am not a fan of the Rare achievement counter like that, feels very tacky and unnecessary in the main page. It could show the rare counter if you open the achievement details, but on the main profile page?

Edit: I am fine with the rare achievement counter as shown in the first picture, for example, but I do not like it as shown in the second picture, where that is just plain steam profile home page showing recent activity

They should remove the "rare" numbers, completelly odd there

2

u/system32recov 19h ago

Im glad they did this

I replied to a comment in another sub about separating the main and DLC achievements, saying that Steam might do this soon. I got downvoted quite a bit and called a liar 😂

u/draconetto 17h ago

Afaik theres already support for this but devs don't care

1

u/stefneh5295 20h ago

This confused me, but it seems that achievements can now be broken up into "sets" - so in my screenshot I have completed 2 of 16 sets of achievements.

This might be good if it makes it easier to see if a game has DLC achievements.

1

u/ExplosionSupport 19h ago

I don't understand what the purple achievements are on my profile

1

u/stefneh5295 19h ago

I think purple is DLC achievements and blue is base game achievements.

3

u/ExplosionSupport 19h ago

Thanks ! It's only on some games like Euro Truck Simulator. But not on my others DLC, I guess it'll comes in the future maybe

3

u/stefneh5295 19h ago

Yeah I was thinking, does this mean devs are going to have to go back and essentially categorise their achievements now? I imagine some will be pretty quick to do it and others likely never will because they can't be arsed 🤣 I have a bunch of games I know have DLC achievements but they're all still currently just in one big "achievement set"

1

u/ExplosionSupport 19h ago

I heard that " Steam DB ", I guess it's a mod for steam, has separate achievements between DLC and base game.

Will check this tonight

1

u/draconetto 17h ago

Amazing change, but if steam wants to make it work they really need to block devs from adding achievements after the game was released, if they want to add a new achievement make a new set

Recent Activity Layout Looks Very Messy When a Game Has a Badge :: Steam Client Beta

Made the above, but my main gripe - this was the case before - is what happens when you have a game badge is that it shoves achievements to the centre-right and it looks a bit shit.

Also you're about to have dozens of purple ribbons if DBD reverse engineer DLC sets my christ.

1

u/SAEITGames 15h ago

I'm so happy that I don't need to complete the DLCs to have the platinum, thanks Steam 😭
