Bought the StanbyME recently.
Personally, when it's idle, I rotate the screen vertically and tuck it into a tight, unused corner.
It actually takes up way less space.
Granted, I've been using it so constantly that it rarely ever stays parked there for long.
Where do you all store yours?

Most screens decide their own height. A stand fixes the panel where it was assembled, whether or not that is where anyone is looking from.
The StanbyME 2 panel lifts off its stand at 9.5 lb, and the newer StanbyME 2 Max comes off its stand the same way, so either can come down to a shelf, a low table, or the floor and sit at whatever height the moment calls for.
What the screen does once it is off the stand:
9.5 lb and 1.1 Inch Deep: The StanbyME 2 panel weighs 9.5 lb without the stand and is 1.1 inch deep, so it can be carried in one trip and set against a shelf or a wall without needing a bracket or a surface built for it.
It Keeps Running Where It Lands: The built in battery runs for up to 4 hours, so the screen does not have to end up wherever the nearest outlet is. webOS 24 keeps the apps on the panel itself, so nothing else has to come along. The StanbyME 2 Max, the 32 inch 4K screen in the lineup, carries a 144 Wh battery that runs for up to 4.5 hours on webOS 26.
Tip: A compatible folio cover gives the panel something to rest against once it comes off the stand.
Q&A:
Q: How much is involved in taking the screen off the stand?
A: The panel comes off the stand with a single click, and at 9.5 lb and 1.1 inch deep it can be carried in one hand. The built in battery runs for up to 4 hours, so it can be moved and set down without unplugging or reassembling anything.
Real impressions and reactions from the community:
“When you have limited space you can’t afford to have a big screen taking up valuable realestate. The StanByMe 2 solves that by being multi functional and portable.” u/KeggyFulabier

A workout puts distance between the ears and the screen, and the room is rarely quiet while it is happening.
The StanbyME 2 runs 2.0ch side firing speakers on the panel itself, as the StanbyME 2 Max does on a larger 32 inch panel, and a dedicated speaker can sit alongside them when a session runs louder.
What carries the sound across the room:
Upmixed From the Panel Itself: The 2.0ch side firing speakers on the StanbyME 2 use Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro to up mix to virtual 9.1.2 channel audio with Dolby Atmos, so a track carries past the narrow line between the screen and the seat. The StanbyME 2 Max, the newer screen in the lineup, runs the same 2.0ch side firing setup with the Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 and up mixes to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio on a 32 inch 4K panel.
A Dedicated Speaker Alongside: A dedicated StanbyME speaker pairs to the screen over Bluetooth and moves with it, so a session that asks for more than the panel is set up for has somewhere to go.
Tip: The 9.5 lb screen lifts off the stand, so it can sit on whatever surface is already beside the machine instead of the stand taking up floor space in a workout corner.
Q&A:
Q: Is the sound enough from across a workout corner?
A: The 2.0ch side firing speakers on the StanbyME 2 up mix to virtual 9.1.2 channel audio with Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro. A dedicated speaker pairs over Bluetooth when a session calls for more.
Real impressions and reactions from the community:
“I start with it with YouTube for morning motivation music or videos as I get ready.” u/xoxoChii123

A screen that is switched off is a dark rectangle in the room. Left on with a painting, the same panel reads as something hung on purpose.
The StanbyME 2 Max moves from the 27 inch QHD screen of the StanbyME 2 to a 32 inch 4K UHD panel, and the picture quality of whatever is on screen, a video or a photo, steps up with it.
What makes a painting hold up on screen:
Resolution That Keeps the Brushwork: The 32 inch panel on the StanbyME 2 Max holds 3840 x 2160, up from 2560 x 1440 on the 27 inch StanbyME 2, which is more than twice the pixels for the same work. The texture in a work stays legible up close instead of breaking apart. The Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with AI Super Upscaling lifts lower resolution image files to suit the panel.
Color That Does Not Flatten: Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG carry the range from the darkest to the brightest parts of a work, so a bright sky and a shadowed field keep their own values in the same frame.
Tip: LG Gallery+ carries over 5,000 works, so a piece can be swapped as the room or the season changes rather than leaving the same frame up all year.
Q&A:
Q: Where does the artwork come from, and does it hold up on a screen this size?
A:LG Gallery+ arrives on the StanbyME lineup with the StanbyME 2 Max and carries over 5,000 works. The 32 inch panel holds 3840 x 2160, and the Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with AI Super Upscaling lifts lower resolution files, so the detail in a piece stays readable rather than softening.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“With the brightness set to the same 100 on both, the Max is clearly the brighter one.” (Link)
What would you leave on a screen when nothing is playing? Share below. Reviews of LG Gallery+ are also being collected on r/StanbyME until November 7, where StanbyME 2 Max owners in the US can redeem a two month voucher on the screen and selected reviewers receive an LG Gallery TV.

A dining table is usually the one place in the home a screen cannot easily reach. A fixed set faces the sofa, leaving the table behind it or off to one side. The StanbyME 2 Max stands on its own rolling stand, so the screen can turn toward the table instead of the table being arranged around the screen.
At that distance, the 32 inch 4K UHD panel is still easy to see from every seat, and it can roll back out of the way once the meal is over.
What lets it face the table:
The Stand Is the Mount: The StanbyME 2 Max stands on its own rolling stand, so where the screen ends up is decided by where people sit rather than by where a bracket was fixed. It moves to face the dining table for a meal and back toward the sofa afterward, and the 144Wh battery runs for up to 4.5 hours, so no cable has to cross the floor to reach it.
The Same Screen From Every Seat: The 32 inch 4K UHD panel on the StanbyME 2 Max is larger than the 27 inch QHD screen of the StanbyME 2, so what is playing stays easy to see from the far side of the table rather than only from the chair nearest the screen. The 2.0ch side firing speakers with Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro up mix to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio, and Clear Voice Pro keeps dialogue clear in the mix.
Tip: Park the screen at the end of the table rather than beside one seat, so the angle is even from both sides.
Q&A:
Q: Does it have to be moved every time, or can it stay by the table?
A: Either works. The StanbyME 2 Max stands on its own rolling stand and runs for up to 4.5 hours on the 144Wh battery, so it can stay parked by the table through a meal and roll back afterward without unplugging anything.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“I keep it next to the dining table and watch a show while we eat, or put YouTube on in the kitchen while doing the dishes, and the chores go by much faster.” (Link)
What goes on the screen when you are eating? Share below.

A screen in the living room gets used for music about as often as for films, and both come down to the sound.
The StanbyME 2 Max runs 2.0ch side firing speakers on the panel itself, and a dedicated speaker can be added alongside them.
What carries the sound:
More Channels Than Speakers: The 2.0ch side firing speakers on the StanbyME 2 Max use Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro to up mix to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio with Dolby Atmos, up from virtual 9.1.2 on the StanbyME 2, and Clear Voice Pro keeps dialogue above the rest of the mix.
A Dedicated Speaker or One You Have: Bluetooth 5.3 pairs a dedicated speaker to the StanbyME 2 Max without a cable, and a Bluetooth speaker already in the room connects the same way.
Tip: When nothing is playing, put LG Gallery+ on the screen and it works as part of the room rather than something switched off.
Q&A:
Q: Does the sound change when the screen is moved between rooms?
A: The speakers sit on the panel, so the output travels with it, and Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro up mixes to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio wherever it is parked.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“I set the Bluetooth speaker to play together with the built in speakers, and I am happy with it.” (Link)

-It only allows you to sign in to a business or school account which I don’t have.
Has anyone experienced this? Any workarounds?
Why would LG limit this access to business accounts when the StandbyMe 27” Gen 2 is so thoroughly a personal use device for most users.
Thanks.

This month's exclusive wallpaper brings Halloween night to your StanbyME, edge to edge. Carved pumpkins, witch hats, and wrapped candy repeat across a deep purple ground.
Roll it to where the evening actually happens, the living room during a late movie or the kitchen where the candy bowl sits. The built in battery means it does not have to stay near an outlet, and the screen lifts off the stand when a table works better.
The wallpaper comes at 4K resolution, so one file works across the StanbyME lineup.
Available in both landscape and portrait sizes.

Screen size and picture quality together decide how a film reads from the sofa. The StanbyME 2 Max carries a 32 inch 4K UHD panel, up from the 27 inch QHD screen of the StanbyME 2.
It runs from its own rolling stand, so the screen faces the seating rather than the seating being arranged around the screen.
What the bigger panel brings:
More Screen From the Same Seat: The 32 inch 4K UHD panel on the StanbyME 2 Max replaces the 27 inch QHD screen of the StanbyME 2, so a film or a live show takes up more of the view without moving any closer.
Color and Detail That Keep Up: The Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with AI Super Upscaling lifts lower resolution sources, and Dolby Vision and HDR10 carry the color, so the larger panel does not thin the picture out.
Tip: The rolling stand on the StanbyME 2 Max moves the screen between the living room, the bedroom, and the kitchen, so one screen covers all three instead of staying in one room.
Q&A:
Q: How is the picture different from the StanbyME 2?
A: The panel goes from 27 inch QHD to 32 inch 4K UHD, and the Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with AI Super Upscaling handles lower resolution sources on the larger screen.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“The picture is sharp and the screen is large, so it is good for watching films and YouTube.” (Link)

The viewing angle in a bedroom changes depending on whether you are sitting up or lying down. The stand of the StanbyME 2 Max rotates, tilts, and swivels, so the screen can be aimed at either position.
The 32 inch 4K panel carries over 8 million pixels, so subtitles and small text stay sharp even at the short viewing distance a bedroom allows.
How the angle and the picture hold up:
Set to Any Angle: The stand rotates up to 90 degrees, tilts up to 25 degrees, and swivels up to 90 degrees, so the screen can be aimed at a sitting or a lying position without moving the stand itself.
Detail at Close Range: The 32 inch 4K UHD panel carries 3840 x 2160 pixels, up from the 27 inch QHD screen of the StanbyME 2, and the Alpha 8 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with AI Super Upscaling lifts lower resolution sources, so text stays legible up close.
Tip: Set the angle for the side of the bed you usually lie on, and the screen stays aimed there without adjusting it again.
Q&A:
Q: Can the screen be angled for watching while lying down?
A: Yes. The stand rotates up to 90 degrees, tilts up to 25 degrees, and swivels up to 90 degrees, so the screen can be aimed at either a sitting or a lying position.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“Even lying in bed watching Netflix from about two to three meters away, the subtitles are clean and sharp with no blurring, so my eyes are very comfortable. The height adjusts smoothly, and I can fine tune the screen up and down or left and right to match the angle I am lying at.” (Link)

One screen can cover both music and video in the same spot. The StanbyME 2 Max receives audio from a phone over Bluetooth or AirPlay 2, and plays video through the webOS apps on the screen itself.
Neither path needs a cable or a separate device, so moving between music and video
takes no setup.
What lets it cover both:
Current Wireless Standards: Wi Fi 6 handles streaming and Bluetooth 5.3 pairs a phone for audio. AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are built in, so a phone can send either music or video to the screen without a cable.
Virtual Surround Audio: 2.0ch speakers with Alpha 8 AI Sound Pro up mix to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio with Dolby Atmos, up from virtual 9.1.2 on the StanbyME 2, which gives music more depth and keeps dialogue clear.
Tip: Pair a phone over Bluetooth and the screen can play music with the display turned off, so it works as a speaker when nothing needs to be watched.
Q&A:
Q: Can music be played from a phone without opening an app on the screen?
A: Yes. Bluetooth 5.3 pairs a phone directly, and AirPlay 2 and Google Cast are built in, so audio can be sent from the phone without setting anything up on the screen.
Real impressions and reactions from the StanbyME 2 Max users:
“The speaker performance is better than I expected, so I also connect my phone and
use it just for listening to music with the screen off.” (Link)

Does anyone know if I can charge the tv while mounted on the wall? Can I operate this without the stand majority of time? Cons of doing it this way? I want to use this a tv in the kitchen. I wish to put the stand in a closet and just use the stand when needed. 90% of the time I plan to leave it hanging. And move to the counter when needed. Would this function and charge properly? Does it sit flat on the wall?

A bedroom screen is watched up close, from the bed rather than across the room. The StanbyME 2 is a portable screen on a rolling stand, so it parks at the side of the bed instead of the far wall.
The battery covers a full session, so nothing has to be run to the bedside.
A couple of things that make this work:
Free to Set the Viewing Angle: The screen swivels and rotates on the StanbyME 2 stand, so the angle is set for watching from the bed rather than fixed to wherever the stand is parked.
Stays Where It Is Parked: The 4 hour built in battery covers a session beside the bed, so the screen can sit on the side of the room that is comfortable rather than the side with the outlet.
Tip: Keep the screen on the side of the bed already used for reading so it is in view without moving the furniture, and roll it back once the room is used for something else.
Q&A:
Q: Does it work as a bedroom screen without mounting anything?
A: The screen stands on a rolling floor stand beside the bed and rolls aside when the room is needed, so nothing has to be fixed to a wall or added to the nightstand.
What would be playing beside your bed at the end of the day? Share your setup below.
Real impressions and reactions from the community:
“I've been using mine (StanbyME 2) for a few months now and honestly didn't expect to use it as much as I do. Started with the whole ambiance video thing (which is surprisingly relaxing after work), but now I find myself rolling it into different rooms depending on what I'm doing. The portability is genuinely convenient in ways I didn't anticipate.” u/Sensei_Sjan

I've been considering getting a StandbyMe but was wondering if it would be able to be used as a Family Hub when not in use as a TV? Ideally, instead of artwork when not in use I'd like to display a calendar of family events. Would this be possible with the StandbyMe? Would I be able to download an application to make this happen or would it not be able to function in such a manner?

The StanbyME 2 lifts off its stand and runs on battery, with streaming apps built into the screen.
Nothing has to be connected, so a show carries on wherever the screen is set down.
A couple of things that make this work:
Lifts Off the Stand: The 9.5 lb screen of the StanbyME 2 detaches from the rolling stand and can be set down on a flat surface for close up viewing, with the 4 hour built in battery covering the session.
Plays With Nothing Plugged In: webOS runs the streaming apps on the screen, and Apple AirPlay and Google Cast send a show over from a phone, so watching does not wait on an HDMI source.
Tip: Take the screen off the stand for a session close by and set it back on the stand afterwards, so the stand keeps the spot it had in the room.
Q&A:
Q: Does the screen need an HDMI source to play something?
A: webOS runs the streaming apps on the screen itself, and Apple AirPlay and Google Cast send a show over from a phone, so an HDMI cable is not part of the setup once the screen is off the stand.
Where would you set the screen down once it is off the stand? Share your spot below.

I received this product for free from LG as part of a product experience program. While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own.
Touchscreen:
The touchscreen is extremely responsive. I’ve become a really big fan of the games on the LG StanbyME 2. These games are incredibly fun and the vibrancy of the screen pops to make the screen almost look like a game board. Having a touch screen also makes it easy for other family members who aren’t super tech savvy to use.

The battery:
The battery is great as it runs up to 4 hours when unplugged. This is also considering when I am running it sometimes during the day it is at high brightness or in HDR and I have power saving turned to off for a brighter screen (though it could be recommended to keep power saving on to increase the overall longevity of your battery if you aren’t too focused on image quality). The only downside I can say is that the battery does slowly drain when it is not plugged in and turned off. It is a flaw in my opinion but not a major one, as though this TV is portable, it isn’t a tablet.
Therefore I cannot really fault the StanbyME. Charging is incredibly easy. You just mount the TV onto the stand and it charges up when the stand is plugged into the wall. I will say if you read the manual it states not to move the stand while it is plugged in so be careful, as I have followed these instructions carefully.

Mobility:
The mobility of this TV is unmatched. If you want you can mount it on a wall which I haven’t done yet, but also bring it around the house. The main use case I have for the StanbyME 2 is when it is on the stand and watching it as a portable TV which I can watch in my room or borrow out to my other family members.
My only complaint is while the stand is not super heavy, I live in a two story house. So while swiveling it around is easy, taking it down the stairs can be complicated, as I have to unmount the TV from the stand, which isn’t a problem. However the stand while not heavy (could possibly be depending on your weight and fitness level, absolute no judgement at all. I am 185 pounds and exercise moderately) can be annoying to take up and down the stairs if you were to do it multiple times a day. So in my specific situation, while I have used it by the downstairs dining room on some special occasions, my main use is to use it next to my bed while I eat comfy snacks such as pop tarts and watch some of my favorite films or shows.
Perfect use cases for this TV in my opinion in terms of mobility: if you live in an apartment and don’t exactly love having a big or normal sized TV (I have friends who love watching movies on their IPhones or laptops for this exact reason) then this TV is perfect for you as when you are done using it you can just scoot it away! Also another use case would be if you have a cat: this TV is perfect for you as when you are done watching it you can put the magnetic cover on and put it in a corner or your closet (just make sure it’s dust free as the manual says excessive dust can possible cause this TV issues).
Wireless streaming:
I have no issue with the Wireless streaming. All you have to do is connect it to the WI-FI and it’ll pretty much stay connected to the internet. The bitrate on streaming apps is extremely stable. High bitrate rate apps like Apple TV have no problems with WI-FI, as the TV maintain’s its pristine image quality. The StanbyME 2 pretty much every major streaming app you can list, and even includes sports apps like DAZN for example if you’re a fan of boxing.

My two favorite streaming apps are Disney+ and Apple TV. Both run well on the StanbyME 2 and I’ve yet to run into a bug that’s exclusive to this TV.
All the steaming apps so far have run extremely well and there’s nothing in that regard that I wouldn’t have praise for.
WebOS:
WebOS is fluid and beautiful to look at. Personally I’m not a fan of other OS’s like Google TV or Fire TV. WebOS is colorful and extremely snappy and responsive. Sometimes it can be one too many buttons to open up the advanced TV settings to experiment with the TV settings but that’s more of a niche thing. The out of box TV settings are pretty great. Standard if you prefer a more traditional 2010’s LED look or ISF expert day and night if you are for a more cinematic and accurate look.

With the controller in my hand I can feel like I’m actually clicking the buttons on my screen, if that makes sense. The responsive nature of the OS + controller gives an empowerment to the user that is beautiful.

Overall:
I’m really happy with my StanbyME 2. It’s an incredibly innovative and creative product and I hope this review can help you understand if it’s the product for you!

I received this product for free from LG as part of a promotional event. While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own.
We've had the StanbyME 2 for a bit more than a week now, and we’ve mostly been using the TV/giant tablet mix in the kitchen and dining room as a cooking, cleaning, and eating companion. The most used app is YouTube, and we’ve been watching a lot of cooking and lifestyle vlogs. It’s been nice having the calm background music and ASMR. We really enjoy the flexibility of moving the device around to different rooms and the arm has a pretty wide range of movement which allows for comfortable viewing angles no matter what activity we’re doing in the room. This has definitely helped make doing chores a lot more enjoyable. Something about watching someone calming clean their home gets me motivated to clean too.
When we’re not actively using the StanbyME 2, we tend to play some cat TV on it so that our two cats also get enjoyment out of it. There’s a few channels on YouTube that stream birds and squirrels eating seeds 24 hours a day and our cats have found it really entertaining.
What’s great about this setup is that it’s not locked to a particular room. We’ve even tried wheeling it into the washroom but it wasn’t that practical given how small the washroom is, so it now lives in our open concept kitchen/dining/living room.
