IMPORTANT NOTES:

• SmackDown starts with Sami Zayn, along with Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae, in the ring to address the crowd. He hates to say 'I told you so' but all the vultures circling him the past few weeks coming for his championship got what they deserved in the Money in the Bank match. He congratulates Penta on his win and tells him to focus his energy on Roman Reigns. And he has to focus on him too since it will be champ vs. champ at Crown Jewel, but he'll address Roman face to face. Trick Williams interrupts, but Sami tells them to cut the music and for Trick to say what he needs to say. Trick notes they don't like each other and it's personal now. Every time Sami sees Trick, he is reminded of his previous failures. Trick otherwise says he's going to beat his ass for disrespecting him 2 weeks ago. Sami says his attacks weren't disrespect, that was him turning Trick's jokes and disrespect back on him. Sami's using survival skills and Trick needs them, that's why Sami's in his position and Trick will stay where he is. Trick responds saying he's done talking about it, and if he's as bad as he says he is, Sami should take a swing at him right now. Gargano grabs the mic and tells Trick to stop disrespecting the champ. Guys like them have had to overcome more than he understands while Trick was handed everything. Trick challenges Gargano to a match, with him immediately calling for a ref.

• Nick Aldis talks to Blake Monroe about her latest altercation with Giulia, and next week they're going to face each other in a street fight. Chelsea Green interrupts and asks Aldis if he's talked to Tiffany Stratton and she's recovering. Chelsea asks about Liv Morgan and she's not here tonight, but she'll have to face Roxanne Perez at some point. Nikki Bella interrupts asking why Roxanne would be in line ahead of her, especially after she beats Paige tonight. Chelsea says how about next week? Nikki says she's busy, how about in 2 weeks.

• Cathy Kelley chats with R-Truth about his personal match against Damian Priest. Truth says he's heartbroken. If Priest had a party and invited everyone he knew, he'd see the biggest gift would be from him and the card attached would say 'thank you for being a friend.' But now, Damian, pandejo? Your ass is mine.

• Kevin Owens is in medical and Nick Aldis is checking in on him. Owens is bummed he didn't walk out with the MITB contract, but Punk didn't either at least. CM Punk interrupts and is annoyed that he got put in the ring with that piece of trash. Aldis says he needs them both healthy for the good of this show. The two of them fighting anywhere outside of the ring doesn't make money. So do him a favor and stay out of each others' way.

• Gunther is backstage saying he knows why Nick Aldis wants to talk to him, because he's messed with Danhausen. Well he gets what he deserves for messing with him in the first place. He's gotten no response from Nick though, the chair spins around and it's Danhausen. Gunther says he's stupid enough to come back? Well at least he's tougher than Finn Balor. But Danhausen points out he didn't actually pin him. Gunther grabs him by the neckbrace and Danhausen says to leave him alone at least through Halloween. Gunther says he's going to make sure Halloween is a very special night for Danhausen.

• Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley talk to the crowd from the ring, excited they won the titles. Charlotte Flair of course wanted to be involved and she's been an amazing friend. Alexa introduces Tatum and thanks her for always having their backs. Tatum also gives her thanks to Charlotte so she could still compete and when she's all healed up, she's got a very special gift waiting for her. They're interrupted by Fatal Influence. Jacy Jayne says this was cringy. Everyone should be talking about Tiffany Stratton stealing her MITB briefcase. Jacy says the only reason why Charlotte is Alexa's friend is because of the titles, so once they defeat them to win them back, they'll be back in Charlotte's shadow. Tatum says if they want the titles, they don't mind playing with them. Jacy says she can't do anything tonight, but -- Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley go on the offense, but they're promptly taken out by Alexa & Tatum. Jacy tries following but they slide out of the ring.

• Cathy Kelley talks to Rey Fenix about his title defense tonight and wanted to know how he feels about his brother Penta winning MITB. He's proud, and he's ready for tonight, and then they're interrupted by Sami Zayn. Sami gives Rey his props but then asks if he's talked to his brother at all since MITB? He's just thinking about Penta's loss to Roman in Mexico and... Rey says he doesn't know what his brother will do, but buenos noches.

• Backstage, Fatal Influence runs into B-Fab and her girls. They're mad that Fatal Influence is trying to step on their toes when they should be next. They've spoken to Aldis and maybe after they win the titles, they'll see them in the ring.

• Cody Rhodes encounters Nick Aldis backstage, with Cody asking if Randy is ready. Nick says he hasn't seen him. Cody says he'll go out and do what he does either way.

• Next week: Giulia vs. Blake Monroe in a street fight, Bliss & Paxley vs. B-Fab & Michin for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, and MFT vs. Bakusai!

• Cody grabs a steel chair and sits in the middle of the ring until Randy Orton shows up for a face-to-face. Instead we get Baron Corbin? He says he doesn't see what everyone else seems to see in Cody. A lot of things have changed in this company since he was here last but what's stayed the same is that he's still whining. He tells Cody not everyone still has it in terms of him not being willing to take out his friendo Randy, he's so concerned with being a good guy. The only thing that matters is Corbin getting back where he belongs and he'll do it at Cody's expense. Cody says he doesn't have patience for this and immediately starts brawling, tossing Corbin out and while he still has all the time in the world for Randy, let's do this right now.

• Randy Orton interrupts the inpromptu main event pulling Cody out of the ring. Who knows where Corbin went while Randy goes on a full Cody beatdown. Eventually back in the ring, Cody avoids a punt and hits a Cody Cutter. But Corbin reappears and spoils any further offense from Cody, saying he's here to get his spot back. But Corbin gets reversed and eats a Cody Cutter of his own. Randy screams from outside the ring that he's not gonna do anything worse than that, he doesn't have it in him. With that, Cody rears up and punts Corbin. Randy is somewhat aghast as the crowd chants "one more time."
