I love how nobody gives a fuck when Kihachi is wearing a dress

I can't count the number of times this guy has cross-dressed, yet each time nobody cares. Usually, they're just focused on solving whatever predicament is going on, like the city collapsing or something. It's so refreshing that its not being used as some sort of cringe gag that everyone's screaming and overreacting about.

Thoughts on final episodes (Spoilers) Spoiler

I had high hopes for the series overall as it felt rather scientifically grounded. It seemed to start off that way. But the last episodes were ridiculous and painful to watch. I understand it's in some sense a fantasy, but still, for anyone even remotely aware of these fields of study, it becomes painfully absurd.

Never mind the fact that so many vacuum tubes put together would immediately begin to fail (as they did in real life the first time a computer was created with them). But we can look past that. The first time things really begin to get absurd is when doll-Seiroku starts to speak -- like, at all. So now we can independently modulate a voice? This is very different from recording sound and playing it back. How was this programmed? Made? So quickly? And just by Yosuke? Crazy.

And then, far worse, it's actually capable of understanding speech? And even WORSE, it's capable of thinking?

It veered hard from alternate history, to science fiction but still somewhat believable, to clear science fiction but still passable and fun, to just utter science fantasy. You might as well have given Yosuke an iPhone.

There are other silly details, like apparently blowing up half or more of Kyoto is just fine, but I can actually look past that fairly easily (it is possible, especially with tons of money and corruption and plenty of fabrication) than the silliness of having a talking artificial intelligence made by Yosuke in secret and in just a few days.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the final scenes and while others might think Inako's story was generic or simple, I enjoyed it and liked their relationship. I thought it ended well although would not have minded seeing them in the future with more of their goals fulfilled and happily married.

It was a beautiful show and I don't regret seeing it, but the absurdity of the last episodes could've been handled differently.

Why Wasn’t Yosuke Thrown In Prison? Spoiler

It really feels like the fiasco he caused at the end should have been a much bigger scandal than it was. He created a massive sinkhole in the middle of Tokyo, compromised the city’s power/steam supply, and caused millions of dollars worth of property damage to that entire section of the city, and he just gets to F off abroad on a self discovery journey? I get that he’s a monopoly who controls most of the city, but as powerful as monopolies are, they aren’t invincible, and this is the type of thing that normally could bring one down. Several rich and presumably powerful people were at his little unveiling and I can’t imagine none of them would jump at the chance to take the big dog down a peg. It seems like the type of thing that would give the central government the excuse to seize control of his assets. Especially with the Japanese idea of “taking responsibility,” it’s surprising that he got away with that Scott free.

Also, it’s funny that this whole thing could have been avoided if he had just been normal. Any normal person who found out the guy he was in love with had a brother with a similar goal would have jumped at the chance to work with him to achieve that goal. But because Yosuke was an obsessive, neurotic little freak, he decided to antagonize the only living connection to the man he was obsessed with. Really it seems that he was more obsessed with the man than his vision, and used that vision to “creat the age of electricity” as an excuse to cling onto his memory. But hey, we wouldn’t have a story without the antagonism so… 🤷🏾‍♂️😅

Take a look of this 3D Printed Inari as cable holder, I thought since the anime is all about electricity technology and innovation why not make a figurine thats functional and somehow related to the anime theme, what do you think?

[Discussion] Season 2 might be very far away.... But we could still dream it

At first I was wondering why it's not 24 episodes if it would follows episodic drama style. It turned out that the original is a one-shot light novel, stopped right at anime's episode 10, and the last 3 episodes weren't as good as it was. (At least it's not an ending for everyone)

Right now, Yousuke is on his journey of redemption, Kihachi and Inako are finally together, both chasing for their dream. If the story is going further, it would be fully original and unpredictable.

I offer everyone to write your thought: What would you like to see if there's a S2?

My honest thoughts on Sparks of Tomorrow. (S1)

There are 5 things I am going to point out, 2 good, 2 bad, and one half and half

The good

  1. The anime up until the last two episodes is beautiful, absolutely perfect, nothing more needs to be said.
  2. The nonexistent CGI.

The bad

  1. Inako's Character arc is the most generic piece of bs ever.
  2. The last two episodes are just dull, a lot happens but it's just plain boring.

Yosuke

Yosuke's arc is in my opinion the best arc in the show because it's the type of stuff I dream up when I'm blasted out of my mind. His design is, well if u know u know. Bruv is the only villain that I will ever fell any remorse for, on the bad side tho, I feel like he got a cheap ending, the design.

Overall S1 is a solid 7.9/10

Exited for a S2.

Episode 6 Discussion Thread

Wow, this anime makes cry in the most unexpected moments.

The wonders and the magic of the show from episode 1-5 aside, the humour and wholesomeness of it all which i enjoy of course, episode 6 strung at my heartstrings seeing Inako perform on stage, pushing past her doubts and proving her father wrong.

Noriko, consistently having faith and believing in her, saying “Inako, fly” during their performance made me tear up 😭.

That’s all, that’s all that i wanted to share.

Also love how she’s always there to pin her father down when he’s meddling.

I actually like how different the anime was from the light novel

I might be the minority here but I love how different the two versions are. It got me curious to know about the LN especially with what happened at the last 3 episodes in the anime that made me want to search and read the LN to better appreciate the original work.

Big butt and femininity?

Listen I just starting the anime and im confused about one thing. Why is Yosuke's ass so big? Like physically and in the sense that they clearly put a lot of effort into it.

Also I don't see a lot of people talking about the fact that he has on sparkly eye shadow and clearly wears makeup up along with heels that are atleast 2 inches tall. Of course straight people can wear this and heels were originally made for men, but is he really gay? I know he had some sort of one-sided love for the main characters btother but stil.. it almost looks like he's portraying himself in a more feminine that could have appealed to the brother.

What are your guys thoughts?

I LOVED the scenes where Kihachi envisioned the future

So I only made this post to kinda just talk about these scenes(i have no one to talk about this anime T-T) (also the ideas/impressions i got might be like extremely obvious to everybody else but I'll still say them)

So firstly what i thought was that Inako kind of functioned as Kihachis muse. You know like when artists create something really good only because they have a specific person that inspires them? I think that is the case for inako and Kihachi.

I firmly believe that if Kihachi hadn't met Inako, he would not have had the courage to create the stuff that he did. I think he would have continued to think that he would never be as good or as talented as his brother, and just generally wouldn't be courageous enough to pull of some of the crazy electrical works he did(like for example the electrical plane or when he and Inako flew together).

But now to get to the main reason why I posted this:

I just LOVE the scenes in which he gets sudden flashes of inspiration after creating something. It was so so so so so well done I still think about it regularly. I just think that they portrayed his visions of a future with electricity so extremely well i can't even explain it really well.

Just firstly the way the artstyle changed in those scenes. I thought that it was genius because it gave the viewer a clear message like "hey this is what he envisions right now" and also showed like how the people looked looked kind of like people but a bit different(like their faces a bit exaggerated and also the speaking a bit exaggerated) which in my opinion kind of portrayed how the idea just excited kihachi which in turn made the people in his vision excited too, also in the way they were moving fast all around him.

The second point i loved about it was how all his visions were something that already existed in the future but just kind of different. I dont know why but I kind of loved that because it showed that yes, he has these brilliant visions and if he would start working to make them a reality they would definitely become a part of the modern society, but also that they aren't quite as refined yet. Like the vision with his electrical moon where he envisioned everyone walking with an umbrella of light over their head. It clearly meant to portray people not having to fear the darkness anymore, and being able to walk outside at night because every street is engulfed in light. But this vision of his isn't perfect yet, because it's still just a faint idea. It wouldn't make sense for everyone to walk with an umbrella of light over their heads, and it would be way better to just have streetlights. But he would only find that out when he would actually start working on it. So I thought it kind of brilliantly showed that yes, inspiration, ideas and all that are extremely important for new innovations, but you also need the knowledge that comes with creating it to actually make them a reality.

I kind of just really wanted to get these thoughts out because, as I said, I just loooveeed those scenes so so so much

Will Chuunybio ever come back?

I know the story is over and ended in a nice fashion, but a part of me always yearns for more of course. Chuunybio is my favorite show of all time. Do you guys think there is any possibility of anything happening in the future, if so in what form? The only thing I could imagine is someone loving it enough to create something inspired by, or a sequel I guess, and getting it officially made. One can dream…

Can't wait for S2 already!

Too much to say about everything and I could go on forever but I'll keep it this long lol... Can't believe it's finally over... Sooooo looking forward to S2!!! I can't bring myself to dislike Yosuke even if his character development was meant to make one feel that way...if it was even ever so slightly intended for even a nano sec?! I mean yeah, no matter what his character or personality is like now (or since the beginning)... I actually understand where he comes from and his character development...also necessary for the story itself... But even generally speaking, I genuinely love him for exactly the way he is.. Firstly he is as KIREEEEIIIIIII as he can be... Also his toned legs and arms and his body are beautiful, but his butt is really something else huh😆🤧 As crazy, cranky, arrogant, quirky and flamboyant he might show himself as, he's absolutely wonderful!!! I love those funniest weirdest ridiculously exaggerated expressions of his.. The way he just randomly throws English words into his speech here and there just the way he does!!! And every single time that he called Inako "my honey"... Lol I just waited for that every single time😭🤣 (the VA did a great job)... He's so real but so not for being this way.. Well his obsession and madness for anything and everything Seiroku is on a whole another level too!!!! I love him exactly for all these things that make him him... 😮‍💨 Also why do all these beautiful men have to die... Like they could have kept Seiroku alive... Almost lost it when I thought Yosuke could also go through the same.. but yeah sure they had to make his butt pop even when he was unconscious 😭💀 The OP and ED are absolutely amazing... The OP with so many elements and layers of difference in a single song... Also frigging loved the different art styles and how they used different animation scenes with continuous storylines and backstory for the OP of first few episodes... Especially, synchronising the climax of the OP with those animation scenes.. The story setting and music does make me see some similarities with demon slayer in a way... with it's additional and own unique elements and aspects obviously... What a wonderful mix of steampunk and historical scifi... This one's such a gem! No one can fight me on Yosuke having the prettiest eyes! 🤧 Ps the 2nd slide had me tripping.. the way he just said what he said with that face💀 Maybe I'll post again for Kihachi and others heheh....

Edit- I know the light novel has been already covered but yeah still hoping for something more even if a prequel or anything like that or something new... Well ig the title tends to that but this is an appreciation post for S1 (mostly Yosuke lol)... I hope more people get to know about and enjoy it...
