Quick appreciation post for Elon Musk and what his companies have delivered:
• Tesla forced the entire auto industry to take EVs seriously and has become one of the largest high-value manufacturers in the US. ~135,000 direct employees, tens of billions invested in American factories and supply chains, plus major energy storage and autonomy progress that creates real economic activity.
• SpaceX turned reusable rockets from a science-fiction idea into routine operations, dramatically lowering the cost of getting to orbit. Starlink now has 13.6 million customers and is connecting places that never had reliable internet. Starship is already flying revenue missions and keeps the multiplanetary goal alive. The company is also growing fast in AI/compute.
• Jobs and GDP impact: Across his companies there are roughly 158,000 direct employees today, with estimates that the full supply-chain and local-spending effect supports well over 800,000 jobs. New factories and expansions in Texas, California, Nevada, and elsewhere have been real economic engines.
On top of that: Neuralink, The Boring Company, xAI, and turning X into a freer platform. Whether you agree with every tweet or not, the actual engineering and industrial output is hard to argue with. He’s one of the few people in history simultaneously pushing sustainable energy, space access, and frontier tech at this scale.

What’s the point in coming here to cry all day about Elon musk, tesla or space x? It doesn’t actually change anything so why does everybody here just cry and whine all day?

“Goodwill” apparently jumped from 11B to 50B , on a 60 B cursor acquisition .🤨

Edit . Not an accountant. I did not know that goodwill is created on acquisitions. Yet , it looked like this ~40 B kind of was trying to hide the loss so that sx could post profits this quarter .

Whenever someone questions the valuation, the conversation turns into a highlight reel of landings, launches, and impossible things made possible. Those achievements matter. They just aren't the same as proving what customers will pay, how much capital expansion requires, or where margins settle. I would rather hear a boring explanation of sustainable cash flow than another argument about whether the rockets are impressive. Is that really an unreasonable standard?

Is anyone concerned that what is going on in Ukraine will have negative impacts on the future expansion of Starlink into new markets?

Europe looks to diversify & develop sovereign capability. This is stemming from the unclear messaging from the Trump administration.

It seems like Rubio and others have no clue what services SpaceX even provides.

A public company has to face regular questions about missed targets, spending, margins, and risks. A private company can generate enormous excitement without giving outsiders the same visibility. That's not automatically bad, but it makes confident valuation claims harder to evaluate. SpaceX's technical record deserves respect. The financial story still deserves scrutiny. Would quarterly public reporting change your opinion of the company, or just give everyone more numbers to argue about?

Genuine question. If Musk gives out SpaceX stock to kids in America. Will you block your kids from receiving it ?

it’s so fucking crazy he thinks we want parts of his business or flying cars. literally no one does!!!!! the government should make him hold his company equity!!! WE DONT WANT THESE THINGS!!!!!! We just want fairness!!
