We created a live action style trailer for the original SPACE QUEST : THE SARIEN ENCOUNTER. Took special care in trying to get the look and feel of the original, while expanding the story to give it a complete arch. While it was ultimately generated using seedance 2.5, that doesn’t mean we didn’t take special care in drafting the script, and ensuring the design matched our interpretation of a “real life” translation of the elements of the original game. The voices use AI (sorry). I know there are human-voiced Space Quest projects in development, and I’m excited to play those too. But I wanted to try making a version that sounds exactly like what I imagine we might have gotten if Dynamix had finished a voiced release back in the ’90s.

I’ve spent about a year de-sloppifying the AI as much as possible—redoing performances, fixing delivery and timing, and trying to get the characters and humor to sound just right.

There’s also added lip sync, new character animation, and a galactic atlas that replaces the coordinate-entry system (with a lot of expanded lore and dialogue), plus a few other fun things I’ll leave you to find.

Just another relaxing nature walk in Space Quest II. 🌴💀

I've been on a bit of a Space Quest kick lately (I beat SQ 3 for my very first time a few days ago!), so that definitely informed my viewing of the new Resident Evil movie.

No spoilers here, but man, the main character basically reminded me a LOT of Roger Wilco, and quite honestly, I think Austin Abrams wouldn't be a bad choice to play the part if by some way, some how, Activision decided to get into the video game movie biz and decided to test the waters with such an unlikely franchise choice!

Back when I was a kid playing SQ IV in the early 00s, I thought Ashton Kutcher would've made a great SQ IV era Wilco, his character from That 70's Show being a pretty good template.

Just thinking out loud and wanting to spark some discussion. Anybody else ever thought about things like this?

And instead of a normal death, Roger Wilco ends up crashing into the river right in front of Castle Daventry from King’s Quest!

One of those brilliant little Sierra Easter eggs where two legendary adventure game worlds collide.

There was something special about Sierra adventures. No quest markers, no tutorials—just you, a keyboard, a lot of trial and error, and a save file every five minutes. 😄

Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter was one of those games that made every small discovery feel like a huge achievement. Finding an easter egg or finally solving a puzzle after hours of trying is a feeling many modern games struggle to recreate.

Just fun to share with likeminded peeps. I grew up playing SQ and play through 1-3 every year, cause they just feel good like visiting an old friend.
This year, I thought I could change things up and decided to practice my handwriting while enjoying something I love.
It’s a start!
