the sound is produced by a nema17 stepper taken from a 3d printer. the motor is driven by a raspberry pi pico and a4988 driver and some arduino code making the Iconic Vvvf Doremifa sound of some old but iconic electric trains.

This is a lighting display in Southend, and it makes the most beautiful melody when I listen with my photon smasher microphone!

Grabbed this rock from a construction site to make into a mailbox or bike park feature and discovered the lovely sound it makes. Was thinking of mounting it by my sidewalk so the people can bonk some sick beats. If I bury the fat end less than a foot I think it will stay upright but not sure it’ll still produce a good sound. Could also have it balance on another rock like it is now but don’t want it to be tippable. What would you do with it?
