Discussion After 3 years of playing i still don't get what this game is trying to be.
It wants to be "The Anti-Warframe" But it still feels like a slower power fantasy game with the same quirks and features?
It wants to be a Souls-like without the tight combat mechanics and punishing difficulty part?
It wants Arkham Style free flow combat without the combo system?
It’s an MMO but not really an MMO and Built on a procedural dungeon engine?
It's an Open world but with a linear gameplay loop instead of exploration Besed?
As it stand right now, it's very difficult to tell if something is a result of the unfinished Pre Alpha state, or and intentional design decision.
I have heard way too many different descriptions by the community, but DE have yet to explain their vision for the game. Their original pitch for a slow paced, exploration based RPG from 2022 has long died, and been replaced with a (kinda Slow paced) power fantasy looter collectathon RNG grind game.
i feel like if DE pitched a more solid vision for the game we would as a community give better feedback, as we would understand what the game is going for and suggest changes according to that vision. Instead of everyone trying to pull the game in a different direction to suit their specific tastes.
