Feedback Request Looking for songwriting advice
Interested to see what people think of this one. I’m no Mozart but I always seem to come up with music and melody fast…
Frustratingly … the lyrics I write off the top of my head are mostly about love or heartbreak and I’m trying to get better at the whole songwriting thing and write more holistically about multiple things that aren’t about love or cliche things especially since I’m pushing 30!
Whenever I write lyrics, ones about love or heartbreak seem to come annoyingly quickly..
Im not too precious with songs anymore but I’d like to try my hand at coming up with alternative lyrics for this tune here.
Out of curiosity how do you write lyrics that aren’t overly emotional and maybe tell a story or have a funny punchline. Does anyone have a technique for adding fun lyrics to precomposed music ? Or do you collect funny things or stories or anecdotes in a meaningful way that assist your lyric writing and putting that into music ?
