📢 Announcement [New and Improved] Discord Server Open!
Hello all! We have a new and growing Discord, more than 100 comrades have joined in the first month!
If you had attempted to join the Discord through the auto-mod response, or through the sidebar's link, you were formerly directed towards a dead server. Now, the server is pretty much set up.
We are also looking to start a book club soon using the Discord to meet, but will have discussion posts here too for those who do not want to participate in the discord.
It is still pretty bare bones, we have roles and channels set up however suggestions can be made *within the server* on things that could be added. We are looking at ways to get more people engaged and looking for suggestion on activities we can do as a community related to socialism.
For now, here is the invite link, join away!

Discussion I hate that we're expected to clarify when we don't agree with the likes of Kim Il Sung and Pol Pot, but Capitalists don't have to say that they disagree with Hitler or The British East India Company
I'm a leftist. One might even call me somewhat of a far leftist. But every time I engage in discussion and they call my ideology "evil" and whatnot, they bring up regimes who were oppressive not because of the communist frameworks they took on but because they were oppressive regimes and that's what they do. The Khmer Rouge are frequently brought up in conversation, for example, from whom I of course distance myself because I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Pol Pot as a leader.
So here's my question: why is it that they get to call leftism inherently evil because of this, but I don't get to call capitalism inherently evil because of evil capitalist entities who are evil because of capitalism and not coincidentally capitalist alongside being evil? What's stopping me from calling rightism evil just because Hitler was right-wing? I'm sure they would feel the exact same as I do when I get lumped in with Pol Pot. But unlike with leftists, liberals and conservatives aren't expected to actively distance themselves from Hitler because it's assumed by default they don't agree with him. So why don't I get the same grace with leftists I don't agree with? I feel like I'm talking in circles here but it really does both confuse and infuriate me to no end the lack of scrutiny everyone to the right of me faces with respect to their views simply because it's the norm.

Activism You Should Feel Safe In Your Organization. The Communist Party Has an Open Door Policy With Strict Enforcement.
Sexual Harassment Policy
Sexual harassment, along with all sexist and misogynist ideas and practices, serves the ruling class by driving a wedge between men and women workers, disrupting the chances for working-class unity, and reinforcing the domination of the ruling class. Sexual harassment creates an environment of fear, intimidation, and humiliation, and is hostile to the target’s full participation in our movement. Most often the target is women. In the Communist Party USA, sexual harassment is not an acceptable behavior on the part of any comrade. Leadership is held to an especially high standard and is expected to set an example of inclusion and respect for the entire Party.
Sexual harassment includes:
persistent or abusive unwanted sexual attention
promises of benefits in exchange for sexual compliance
threats of reprisals for refusing to comply with sexual advances
unwanted behaviors including assault, physical abuse (touching, cornering), verbal abuse (lewd comments, jokes, and sexual insults)
These constitute sexual harassment whether they occur in face-to-face interactions, telecommunications, or via social media. Sexual harassment can involve conduct by a person of any gender toward a person of the same or another gender.
Comrades who have adopted ruling-class forms of male supremacist domination sometimes do not recognize their own complicity in misogynist ideas and practices. All comrades should be encouraged to work to promote a conscious working-class culture opposed to sexism and misogyny within our spheres of influence in a way that orients all toward behaviors consistent with the struggle for full equality.
Comrades who call out sexism and incidents of sexual harassment in any form must be protected against intimidation, pressure, and retaliation for doing so. Fighting for the dignity and full social, political, and economic equality for women is the obligation of all Party members, especially men who are expected to engage in struggle with other men toward a class-conscious winning approach.
Education and discussion may be enough to enable comrades to overcome negative ideas and practices.
Comrades should assist each other in informal discussions to understand sexual harassment and to avoid creating hostile environments for others in the movement.
If education and discussion are not sufficient, or if the offense is especially glaring or damaging, action should be taken including informing the district leadership (where there is such) and the designated representative of the National Board. Anyone found repeatedly to be engaged in offensive acts can be removed from positions of leadership and even membership within the Party. If comrades have experienced or witnessed sexual harassment, they should consult with their district leadership and the designated representative of the National Board for guidance on how to proceed.
Adopted by the National Committee, Communist Party USA, April 2018

Theory Interested in how social class shapes self-perception, worldview, and behavior. Any thoughts?
I’m deeply interested in how a person's social (or class) standing is reflected in their perception of themselves and the world—and how that impacts their psychology, emotions, behavior, and even body language, speech patterns, etc.
Any thoughts or recommendations on this?
