looking to upgrade my park board. Found both for decent deal on fb I also found a salomon wild card board. i got into park boarding last year but progressed quickly- hitting rails and small to mid size jumps

im looking to get out there a lot so need recommendations or help deciding. I have a seperate board for powder riding as I will be out west. But looking for something for park/ everyday mountain.

I grew up surfing so I ride similarly and enjoy that flows feeling. From the ice coast so been used to that but will be out west all winter. Let me know!

Gear question Airblaster History Question

Post image
68 Upvotes

Any of the old heads over there know the history behind these leg bags? I’ve been riding with them for over 16 years now and am trying to track down the story of where they came from.

Back around 2008/2009, my local rep Scott told me they were part of a collab—possibly with Spacecraft or Satellite. Does anyone remember the official history or release details for these?

Appreciate the help, stay awesome!

So I bought a new pair of Nidecker cascade snowboard boots and my boot liner pull tab just snapped. Been trying to find replacement parts online but am having a hard time so far. Any recommendations? Is it even necessary if I just have a good BOA? Pretty new to all of this

Gear question Korua Otto 161 vs Otto Plus 161 – help me decide

Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide between the Korua Otto 161 and Otto Plus 161 and would appreciate some real-world advice.
I’m 191 cm and 82–85 kg. I’ve been snowboarding for 6 seasons, but I’ve always rented my gear. This will be my first own setup.
I mainly ride groomed pistes (Jahorina) and want a board that can handle high speeds and confident carving, but I also want to cruise around at slower speeds and enjoy relaxed, all-day riding when I feel like it.
I’m not interested in park riding or serious tricks, but I’d like to learn small side hits and basic jumps.
My main concern is whether the Otto Plus is noticeably more demanding or tiring than the regular Otto. I want something I can push hard when I feel like it, without having to ride aggressively all day just to enjoy it.
For someone in my position, would you choose the regular Otto 161 or Otto Plus 161? Is the Plus worth it, or would the regular Otto be the better all-round choice?

Gear question Howl taped jacket - any reviews?

I’ve been wanting to cop the Howl Supply taped jacket for a while now, but haven’t really found any reviews. Currently trying to decide between the North Face ceptor and the 3L taped jacket.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Howls jackets? I know the mitts are chill.

general discussion Want to try snowboarding for the first time, not sure where to start.

Hey guys, 30M from a tropical country (Singapore) with no snow at all (just indoor carpet simulators)

I've wanted to try snowboarding for the longest time and not sure where to start. Mainly want to try this out on my own, solo stylez
I sorta have a plan to get some indoor lessons done and once I'm more comfortable, i plan to head to Japan (Naeba) to try snowboarding on actual snow.

As for the gear, I intend to use hired snowboards from Naeba rather than bringing my own due to how bulky it is and logistics might not be convenient to lug around when I'm in Japan. Rest of the gear I can probably get my own.

I would love to hear some stories on how you guys got started with snowboarding so I can have an idea on where to start.

The Capita team did a gauntlet challenge, and the video they put out for it was incredible. Mia Brookes, Miles Fallon, Joey Fava, Brett Stamper, and Himari Takamori took on Australia.

Gear question Beginner needs advice for gear

Hey guys! I snowboard twice in my life . I know how to stop on my heels and in my toes no problems . Only thing I still learning is turns and switch to be able to slow down rather than stop , went twice with rented equipment and caught bunch of edges . I investigate what would be best setup for me to learn fast with least edge catches possible . The conclusion is -

Board - GNU Facts 2026

Boots - Salomon Dialogue Dual BOA 2027

Bindings - Union Ultra 2027

I don’t have budget and willing to invest whatever to enjoy and learn the sport I love . Tell me what you think or offer something better for my goals . Thank you! Also . I’m 208lbs and 5’11 , wear 10.5/11US , do I need regular board ? Or wide?

Gear question Kids bindings for a woman’s small

I need help ! I accidentally bought my sister a pair of unreturnable size small Arbor sapling bindings under the impression they were unisex ONLY because there was so sizing when I bought them ( seriously, i searched) and come to find out they are a kids small (3-7) My sister is a size 7, the boot does fit into the bindings, but i’m wondering if I should look for different options or just give these to her.. She’s a beginner and won’t be doing anything crazy like park or tree runs, just simple slope riding.. suggestions ?

Gear question Have any women riders tried the signal ambient?

Wanted to see if anyone has ridden the signal ambient. I’ve been looking to get a new board this season and I’m obsessed at this one but have never ridden a signal. This will be my 7th year riding I’m 23 now and I don’t do anything crazy but I have enjoyed doing boxes in the terrain park. My current board is a burton stylus from a few years ago and I was feeling a bit uninspired last season and want something exciting. Thank you!!
