Discussion MAMA G WAS RIGHT š WANDA AINT SHIT BUT SELFISH
Wanda is the definition of ā knowing the consequences but not caring bc it benfits youā Sheās still very much an addict, but instead of rock, itās power. This woman has done everything wrong from the start: scratched DGās face up because she didnāt get her way, brought Leon on a suicide mission because she wanted to sign Art, went behind the labelās back to sell records, and went behind her cousinās back to get to DG. šš The list goes on and on. There isnāt a single person she hasnāt lied to or deceived at least once. Wanda relies almost entirely on other people for her success, and as soon as they pull back, she fucks them over. Left Lee, tells him theyāre better off as friends, and then, as soon as he moves on, itās āFUCK LEON.ā And now because this ONE TIME he wont save her, she gets him caught in the middle of a war and active investigation. All for what? Your success, your feelings, your future? Notice how itās always her, her, her and never anyone else. ššš lol this shit had me hot as fuck.

Discussion Y'all Hate Cissy Too Much. Teddy Needed To Go
So look. A lot of people complain that in the end, Cissy messed up Franklin's life by killing Teddy as he was transferring the money. And as a result, a lot of y'all seem to hate her guts. But hear this.
Firstly, although getting in the way of her son's money might've been wrong, it's this same money that turned him into a monster. This woman watched the son she loved so much turn into a demon because of MONEY. Like Leon said, there's a reason she didn't want Franklin to get that money back. She herself had to become an accomplice to horrific shit because she loves her son so much. This money had basically ruined everything.
With that out of the way: TEDDY HAD TO GO! Franklin had made a deal with Teddy to let Alton go, basically disappear. Even after going through with this, he shows up and kills him. Here's the most important part: ALTON POSED NO THREAT AT THIS POINT! So basically, this killing wasn't for the mission, or whatever. Teddy was pissed that Alton had posed such an obstacle to him. So much, that even when he was off the board, he just had to kill him off.
SO. Let's say Franklin does get his money back. Teddy has shown himself to be a snake, as we've seen what he does to people he doesn't like. At this point, killing people was jus another thing to him. Now, if he was willing to do Alton like that, just for exposing him, you think he'd let Franklin get off so easy? After torturing him, hurting his feelings, etc.
To be abundantly clear: Teddy has shown that promises mean nothing to him if it doesn't contain exactly what he wants, at least in this point in time. Had Teddy been left alive, it would've been hell for the Saints (more than they'd already gone through). Best case scenario, he would waste Franklin and disappear. Worst case scenario, he wipes out the Saint bloodline.
So basically, for the sake of the Saint family's survival (those of them that were left anyway), Teddy had to go.
W Cissy.

Discussion What are your worst deaths/tortures in Snowfall? Fatback & Matt got did dirty
Just finished rewatching this show for the hundredth time. The death of fatback was brutal. She stabbed that dude 9 times before it started panning out & he was still yelling and getting stabbed more. Him being a heavier dude I wonder how many times she stabbed him before he was out.
Not sure why I never realized it or thought it was so bad. But the Colombians making Matt snort coke every 15 mins was insane. They had every intention of trying to kill him. But it was so pure he just wouldn't die. That mf was snorting coke for 3 - 4 days crazy as hell.
Those 2 stand out to me because they were cool as hell & so loyal. Both the circumstances they ended up in and dying were because of people they were loyal too. Everyone else who died or was tortured I didn't really care because they had it coming except the lock smith dude.

Question Does anyone actually know how to correctly smoke rock in Snowfall?
First off: I watched the entire series over the past month. I really enjoyed it and will rewatch at some point. Itās great to see a major tv series explore a subject that many people know little about and is widely misunderstood. Iāve spent a lot of time researching, reading, and thinking about the ācrack epidemicā and there could be at least a dozen movies/TV series made on different aspects of the era.
I thought the series had a fairly realistic depiction of South Central L.A. in the 1980s. People I talked to who either lived there or knew people that lived there said it could have been more gritty, but they thought it was accurate overall.
The one thing I found very strange is that literally none of the characters depicted smoking rock through a pipe are smoking correctly. Iām sure Iām not the only person thatās noticed this. Itās a relatively big miss by the directors and could have easily been fixed.

Discussion It's unbelievably annoying for how smart Franklin was, to trust the banks Teddy recommended like that Spoiler
Like he saw first hand how much the CIA could do, and after his relationship turned slightly sour, or when he was made aware of Teddy being CIA, he should have put his eggs in different baskets.
73 million in Teddys international banks, 5 million to Peaches Medical bills and some housing investements that he's in debted to?
Not even asking a little when the shits over, does the CIA want a black man owning that much money?
This post i'm making has holes sure, but I feel like the quality of the show dropped significantly in S5 - probably even S4. Ig they need to rush this to some end, but it's dissapointing to force shit like that to solid characters. Don't even get me started on the Tiger and LSD episodes

Discussion Teddy WAS actually transferring Franklinās money back to him.
I donāt understand why people make up all of these scenarios and theories about Teddy setting Franklin up on the phone while making the transfer. All we know is he was on the phone with a woman and said he wanted to transfer the money. He was in the middle of giving the lady on the phone the pin to complete the transaction. THAT'S ALL we had to work with and THAT says he was going to give Franklin the money. Now whether or not he was gonna kill Franklin AFTER the transaction is COMPLETELY up for discussion.

Discussion Iām still new to the show and binged it for the past 2 weeks and I feel bad for not watching it while it was still going on, itās phenomenal
I didnāt watch this show at the height of its prime because I never got to it due to being busy, but now I feel bad I didnāt. Iām on season 5 episode 2 now after binging it. I completely understand the hype it got now, the plot, the characters, etc just amazing. Iām completely engrossed with it. I canāt wait to see how it all pays off tho I feel like I know where the story is going.
I did the same thing with the show the boys earlier this year. Thereās quite a few big shows I have yet to watch that get held in all time regard, what a massive mistake thatās proving to be lol

Discussion Alternate Ending to Snowfall Spoiler
I just finished the show. I understand the ending, and it makes sense to me why it ended the way it did. However, it makes zero sense to me why Franklin would bring his mother to a meetup with a CIA agent (Teddy's handler) and more importantly Teddy himself, who killed her husband.
In my opinion, Franklin should've got his half of the money, and then the last episode should've been Teddy vs. Franklin. Franklin escapes the country with his fiancee and $37 million. Teddy then puts some of his own $37 million to work by tracking down Franklin and getting revenge for screwing up his attempt to rejoin the CIA, killing his father, and giving him third-degree burns. Then Franklin and Teddy either end up killing each other in some epic firefight, or Franklin kills Teddy and then a few years later he finally gets caught by the CIA and they either kill him or get him thrown in jail for life.
I really loved this show overall, but the ending could've been much better. Franklin was too intelligent for things to have played out the way they did, and honestly, the whole premise of his money getting robbed all at once at the end of season 5 was already a stretch.
I agree that he deserved a bad ending for all of his murdering and contributions to the crack epidemic, but damn, at least write the ending in line with the character you built throughout the whole show. And plus, if they had let him get his half of the money only for him to go on to be killed or thrown in jail by the CIA - that would also serve to prove that his parents (who constantly warned him that it would end that way) were completely right. That would've been the more fitting ending in my opinion.
What do you guys think? What alternate endings would you guys have rather seen?
