This shit is why companies don't give interview feedback

u/Frosty558 6h ago

I actually just now, like 5 minutes ago, finished my online work Harassment training and your face looking like a truck stop bathroom isn’t a protected class. They could absolutely say facial tattoos are unprofessional, with the exception on if the tattoos had religious significance.

Though yes just not saying anything is always the safest bet for hiring managers.

80

u/Spideriffic 6h ago

Truck stop bathroom... lol!

u/Agitated-Drive7695 6h ago

And it's true, she factually does look a lot like a defaced school desk. It's not defamation etc if it's factual.

She very deliberately and repeatedly chose to look like that and present herself to the outside world in that manner. Yes, it's moral to judge her on it, and to make general assumptions about her character (even if perhaps not her moral courage) based on how she chooses to present herself.

This viral headline is satire based on an AI-generated image.
While the story and image have circulated widely on social media platforms like Instagram and X, there is no record of an actual lawsuit or individual matching this situation.

Fact-Check Breakdown
The Image: The image featured in the post is AI-generated. Community analysis on platforms like Reddit's r/shittytattoos points out that the image relies heavily on AI generation artifacts, including warped, nonsensical text layouts for the "Outer Banks" and "Currituck" tattoos. The base image has been recirculating since at least early 2025 with varying, changing captions.
The Story Evolution: In early 2026, the image originally circulated with vague text claiming a generic woman was "struggling to find a job because of her appearance." By late 2026, the meme evolved into a fictional news headline claiming she filed a lawsuit in Atlanta because an interviewer told her she "looked like a school desk."

76

u/Sideshow86 5h ago

Here is one of her without face tats

18

u/MainInevitable1133 4h ago

Thank you. These Fact-Checks really ought to be locked as the top comment for all of this AI-slop.

In a world where bots and agents coordinate full posting and commenting on socials, these innocent and silly memes can and ARE often part of a much bigger picture. Whether it be astro-turfing ideas with questionable agendas, or further training AI by analysing human response to these memes en-masse; we are also being trained.

AI-slop is here to stay and is only going to get more refined, so fact-check and question the origins of what you see online (Something that should be done regardless of AI).

It's like that experiment with the chimps in the cage, with a banana on a ladder in its center. When the chimps go for the banana, a scientist sprays them all with a hose. The chimps quickly learn not to go for the banana, and attack any who do. Then a new chimp is brought in, and goes for the banana. Whenever he goes for the banana, he's viciously attacked by the other chimps, so he learns not to go for it, but never correlates WHY. Slowly, new chimps are brought in and the originals are removed. All the chimps get the same treatment and at this point none of them have ever been sprayed or even seen the hose. They just know not to go for the banana.

My point there being that like the chimps in the cage, humans very much display this kind of social adaptation. Across generations, this is why we see things like en-shitification, we just get used to and accept how things are, with no personal context for how things used to be.

It's why a company like YouTube can go from no ads, then 5 second but skippable ads, to now the current 2 minute long unskippable ads we see today. It just takes time.

This post turned into a bit of a tangent so for the sake of cohesion I'll boil it all back down to one word: AWARENESS!

7

u/BukkitsOfOrcSemen 4h ago

Yea screw AI!

so what, you can sue companies for their preferences?

I don’t think for a second this is discrimination. it’s her face, it’s their workplace. and yes, a person can be rejected for a position if how they look isn’t appropriate for the job. and looking like a desk isn’t really appropriate.

good job to the person who made the comment. fucking ambulance chaser ofc sues the company, no surprises there.

33

u/I_mourn_satire 5h ago

It’s not discrimination to reject an application for non protected reasons. None of those tattoos are protected. They are not tied to a religion. They are just poor choices.

12

u/Silver_Lined_Bullet 5h ago

Thats the other thing: Its a choice. No one forced them to get tattoos

If a lawsuit is deemed frivolous you might have to pay the defendant’s legal fees

8

u/LeaningTowerofPeas 5h ago

You can sue if you are in a protected class such as race, gender, or disability. Looking like a school dean’s not a protected class.

5

u/ColdToast_024 5h ago

10/10 times you are going to approach the person not covered in ink at a store front.

4

u/Fragrant-Frog-9290 5h ago

You can only sue for discrimination against a protected class so she will be left arguing in court that it's normal for either a woman or black person to have tattoos all over their face like this

3

u/BrickProfessional619 5h ago

I don’t know. Some people just don’t give a fuck anymore.

I had an interview recently. The HR person asked me why I wanted the job. I told her that the job description and duties were exactly what I was currently doing, but her company paid 50% more. So, I was there for the money.

I got to the next stage interview. In fact, made it all the way until the job offer negotiations when they said I had to be in the office 2 days a week.

The office was 2 states away.

I work in the food industry. We talk about hand tattoos. If some guy comes in with habd tattoos and zero experience.. eh. Bit of a red flag. Might be a no-call, no-show after his first paycheck.

Guy with hand tattoos and twelve years experience, giant green flag.

People who don't have tattoos can yawn about people with tattoos and unwritten tells about tattoos with context. But it's pretty easy to pick up, even if you didn't get any work done.

Garish sleeves that cut off riiiiiiight at the wrist? Good chance that's a high school pastor at a "new age and cool church." The sit backwards on a chair type.

Stuff like that.

Nautical star/web tattoo on the elbow? Born in the 80's, talks about the coke from the 90's

Lotta messy tattoos on the forearms? Self diagnosed mental illness.

Music note they drew themself? Basic white girl.

Mustache on the finger, married to basic white girl; promises he really liked Hamilton.

WoW Horde symbol? Doesn't shower.

WoW Alliance symbol, also doesn't shower, but probably MAGA.

These are broad generalizations, but pretty effective.

Only tattoo is a butterfly? Single mother with shared custody.

Black, messy tattoos from hand to shoulder? Death metal drummer, OR, wide receiver for the Broncos.

Face tattoos and white. Oof.. either they make great music or they know the lay-out of San Quinton and will make you hold their pocket.

Edit:

Silhouette birds on the shoulder? Thinks she peaked in college.

Book quotes? Wants to tell you they love to read.

Bible quotes? Doesn't need to tell you they didn't read the Bible.

Song quotes? Oddly enough, probably pretty chill.

Baby portrait? Domestic violence.

Baby portraits? Idk, that's your cell bunky, you figure out his story.

Marijuana leaves? "I remember when I had my first beer," recipient.

Star Wars tattoos? Happily married, his wife lets him have his corner of the house for his toys. Probably works in HR.

What's funny about this is that I have a union interview this week and I've been agonizing over what to wear and I finally decided that I'm going to wear my dark blue Levi's with a good button-up and boots. But just moments ago I was thinking about how once I'm in that room waiting for my turn I'm probably going to start to second-guess the Jean choice.

Then I saw this post and I thought I wonder if she's sitting in the waiting room second-guessing with the face tattoos or is she just completely at peace waiting her turn.

I hate to say it but those are the best face tattoos I have ever seen. There is a theme of coastal NC and everything. Usually face tattoos look like they were done by a drunken toddler.

They look better than Post Malone’s.

I have to say, I never thought I’d see a Currituck County upper lip tattoo

u/dimestoredavinci 4h ago

It's almost like a legit art installation on this bitch's face.

Still wouldn't hire this dumbass

I know everyone is entitled to live their lives and do what they want to their bodies. But what is the appeal to having your face tattooed like that?

6

u/macumazana 6h ago

So you could sue a company for not hiring you because of the face tattoos

3

u/ALightningStar 6h ago

Hope its AI, is that 3 tattoos specifically for the outer banks? I loved that place but I wouldn't get an obx tat on my toe lol

They’re actually well done tattoos. Hard to pull off facial tattoos though. Especially words.

Kids don’t write on desks anymore

3

u/Ok-Conflict3800 5h ago

Kids can’t even read these days- let alone write…on desks

But don’t judge us off this :(

Come see our wild mustangs and Kitty Hawk ✈️

"Okay fine I'll retract it. You look like a public bathroom stall."

3

"The jury finds for the defendant."

3

u/fasteddie131 6h ago

Looks like the notepad everyone had by the kitchen phone growing up.

3

u/Sword-of-Chaos 6h ago

Ain’t nobody that proud of living in the Outer banks.

3

u/tookurjobs 6h ago

Seems a bit short sighted. What if, in the future, one of their employees needs to know whether or not Metallica rules?

3

u/Pacec-64D 6h ago

Victim mentality at its finest. “Let me live however I want and do whatever I want and then blame others for not fully accepting me.”

3

u/sisdog 6h ago

Yes, she in fact, looks like a school desk.

3

u/South_Ad_7068 6h ago

She does NOT look like a school desk... thats so wrong and incorrect...

She obviously looks like a graffiti wall 🤣

3

u/Swimming-Talk4859 6h ago

School desk is a compliment

3

u/Technician1267 6h ago

Nice try, but school desks aren’t a protected class

3

u/ZahmBombadil 5h ago

I mean there are many jobs where face/neck tattoos aren’t allowed… Pretty sure if I got a face tattoo, I’d be asked to leave my position

That being said, I kind of love the lighthouse 😂

3

u/jimhabfan 5h ago

It’s rage bait. Someone found this picture and stuck a fake caption on it to get people to click and engage.

3

u/G25777K 5h ago

The story is BS, Story goes this picture was base on online forum discussion about her face trying to find work and it has morphed on TT into the title as you see, completely made up and you won't find any lawsuit filed.

3

u/Godzlittlehand 4h ago

Yes. you can subscribe to ai and get more features

3

u/bioteq 4h ago

Extremely unprofessional recruiter, you never share something like that out loud, no matter how true it may sound

3

u/DizzlesVII 4h ago

I've known people with worse. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Would she prefer truck stop bathroom wall?

NC represent. That's wild with the lighthouse as a face tattoo.

3

u/JohnAStark 3h ago

The weird thing is, she is not even from NC

3

u/SuitableOkra1040 3h ago

She does look like a school desk sort of.

3

u/Weekly-Map-3942 3h ago

You can think it. You just can’t say it.

Your appearance is not practical for our level of clientele..... but on the right side the liquor store is always looking for help... can you and and subtract with accuracy and can you count money accurately? Maybe a better fit for the clientele you will attract and prolly make some good sales...
