Okay, so when he puts a pregnant woman in the fridge it's cute, but when I have seven in the freezer it's all of a sudden "deeply disturbing"?

u/FashionHonor 7h ago

Fr the HOA always cares about how many freezers you have.

2

u/Business-Educator-15 7h ago

Yeah, then you have the problem of the head of the HOA caring about how many heads of the HOA you have...

6

u/MagicianLopsided1590 8h ago

ikr, it's not like it's any different from doctors since they also freeze embryos

Turns out George Lucas wasn't crazy; surviving a catastrophe inside a refrigerator is actually a completely viable strategy.

u/RandomUsername78421 10h ago

Yeah but as 80s TV showed me those old fridges had latches on them and you would suffocate if you played hide and go seek in one.

4

u/DonkeyBonked 9h ago

Only us poor kids were at any risk, so I don't think people were too worried about it. Most of them had too much food in their fridge to play hide and seek in it.

This dad has officially locked down the ultimate, unbeatable "I brought you into this world" story for the rest of that kid's life.

I believe it because the source says the thing capsized pretty fast and she had to swim lol

A guy I work with who’s a very outspoken flat earther has a thirteen year old who removed all the food from their fridge, climbed in, and shut the door for some kind of internet clout. Guy showed up to work the day after almost bragging about it. Kid climbed in at like 10am. Dad (guy) is the first one home from work everyday at about 4pm and walked in to all the fridge stuff on the counters. Had to call EMS because his kid was damn near frozen and asphyxiated from being in there so long… Apparently the door being open so long to remove food, then shut with them inside, caused a hot/cold vacuum of sorts and they couldn’t get it back open. While telling us this, all of our jaws dropped and several coworkers went on rants about “how could someone be so foolish”! Dude just laughed, waved his hand, and said “kids! What ya gonna do you know”…. He’s also someone who tried to straighten an industrial bandsaw blade while it was running, with his fingers… He’s a nephew of the owners though so that was just brushed over and never talked about again.

People like him are allowed to vote. 🤯

u/failedopportunities 6h ago

Yes.. They are. However, he’s not registered to vote yet (hopefully never!), so we have that going for us! There’s plenty to take his place though..

And procreate!

7

u/PhilosopherTop625 10h ago

He watched Avatar last airbender. If it can float in the boiling lake it can float in normal water.

7

u/Valveringham85 10h ago

Is that not a suffocation hazard though?

3

u/tobaknowsss 10h ago

I have a feeling he kept the door open...

10

u/stoic_wooky 10h ago

Suffocation is a risk

4

u/Live_Length_5814 10h ago

So is drowning wtf

2

u/stoic_wooky 9h ago

I only mentioned it because it does happen. Not being controversial

1

u/anotherdisciple 9h ago

Yeah I was wondering about that. I guess you could open the door for fresh air? But it still seems risky.

1

u/stoic_wooky 9h ago edited 9h ago

It’s quite difficult to open from the inside because of the suction/ vacuum, maybe having a thin tool to hand to make a gap would mitigate suffocation

1

u/Pyrhan 9h ago

You only get a vacuum if the fridge is colder than the outside.

(Hot air gets in when you open it, then cools down and contracts once you close it. So pressure drops a little.)

1

u/stoic_wooky 9h ago

Semantics really , I wasn’t trying to prove a point. I understand convection of body heat/breath/carbon monoxide poisoning.

1

u/Pyrhan 9h ago

My point is, if the fridge isn't running anymore, it won't be difficult to open from the inside.

1

u/stoic_wooky 9h ago

Depends how weak one might be through lack of oxygen. I get your point

9

u/Soft_Ad7179 10h ago

Honestly, this is the most impressive, high-stakes advertisement for structural integrity that a major appliance company could ever ask for.

5

u/WoodenStatus8601 9h ago

Going from chilling snacks to floating an entire family through a natural disaster is an absolute legendary upgrade for a kitchen appliance.

1

u/Conspiratorymadness 9h ago

They used to help survive nuclear explosions based on movies.

3

u/theslootmary 10h ago

Fridges are seen as dangerous portals to hell in some childlore for a reason.

1

u/YouGurt_MaN14 9h ago

Still are, I moved a fridge outside to my car port and the city drove by and told me it's a danger to kids bc they could get stuck in it. It was a fine if it didn't move it back

3

u/ThousandSunny_56 9h ago

The baby’s goal to one up the parents

14

u/ToronoRapture 10h ago

No one actually believes this right?

29

u/Occidentally20 10h ago

There's a picture and text, how could it possibly be fake?

I even checked and Brazil is a real country apparently.

4

u/Therealdickdangler 9h ago

God I hope not. The inevitable suffocation. The potential flipping and drowning.

The refrigerator on the right is one door, the one on the left is two door.

People are fucking majority dense as fuck.

3

u/Lucky-Mia 9h ago edited 5h ago

Read the story. Fridge on the left is their new fridge. She attempted the fridge boat. It worked for a bit, but capsized. She swam about 1km to saftey. 20 people weren't so lucky and died.

An 18-year-old pregnant woman was placed inside a duplex refrigerator to try to escape a flood in Mimoso do Sul (Espírito Santo, Brazil). The idea came from the young woman's husband, who was trying to save his wife and their unborn baby. Even so, the appliance tipped over, and she was forced to swim for nearly a kilometer

Edit: typo

2

u/OldTie2811 5h ago

So the caption is bs

3

u/Lucky-Mia 5h ago

Technically true, but missing some import facts. Guilty of omission perhaps.

5

u/Putrid-Welder1803 10h ago

I've given the source, just for people like you

2

u/bwoah07_gp2 9h ago

I don't believe any of the twitter/instagram screenshot posts that get shared here or on any major, big subreddit.

It's all fake nonsense.

1

u/TheDadThatGrills 10h ago

Refrigerators are full of insulating foam. They float.

1

u/ColtMcChad69 9h ago

Uhh don’t you remember when Indiana Jones survived a nuclear blast in a refrigerator? Those things are sturdy

1

u/Sweet-Princeess 9h ago

Wow super daddy of the year he really saved his family.

1

u/LysonsCornerP226 8h ago

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

1

u/vi_sucks 10h ago

What's not to believe?

People float on all sorts of shit during floods.

2

u/icecubeski 9h ago

His brother used same system for a Brazillian divorce, which is similar to an Alpine divorce, only different.

2

u/Techiesarethebomb 4h ago

Last time I heard of a Significant Other found in a Fridge, Kyle Rayner just got back home and...

5

u/henningknows 10h ago

Everyone knows a fridge is great in an emergency. Here is my uncle surviving a nuclear explosion by getting in the fridge.

2

u/Ingenrollsroyce 10h ago

If they are so great how come it's only shit in mine?

2

u/Individual_Respect90 9h ago

You really need to get off Reddit and find out who is shitting in your fridge. That seems like a pretty big pressing issue.

2

u/Impossible-Diver6565 10h ago

They make you remove the doors when disposed of because of you ever landed on the door while inside you would be able to get out. Happened to many people/ children over the years.

2

u/WorkCutie 9h ago

just make sure it's unplugged first you don't want to get electrocuted while surviving

1

u/556From1000yards 10h ago

And 2 of every deli meat

1

u/Nervous-Function-995 10h ago

Okay, which brand?

1

u/gilbert2gilbert 10h ago

They named the daughter Sylvania

1

u/Chan_Ch 7h ago

It also survives a nuclear bomb! And it keeps my snacks cold!

1

u/RobZagnut2 6h ago

When I do this I also tie on a mini frig full of beer.

1

u/Tokenvoice 4h ago

Huh, it’s nice to see a good story about a wife who got fridged.

1

u/LordHelmet47 3h ago

I'm actually more amazed how great she looks after that baby.

1

u/ArmadilloDays 1h ago

Dude with those kind of protective instincts and problem-solving skills is a keeper.

1

u/lulpwned 1h ago

It makes sense. Being inside a fridge will also let u survive nuclear blasts and hurled through the air

1

u/BigMack6911 33m ago

Just drill holes on top for air.

1

u/Ajruiz562 10h ago

I will also put my dishwasher in my refrigerator in case of an emergency

1

u/we_are_all_bananas_2 10h ago

You can even survive in it during a nuclear explosion, saw a guy do it in a documentary

1

u/heavenly-superperson 10h ago

Sadly, Ana died giving birth.

Miguel never knew he had a child, and continues to put pregnant women in refrigerators to this day.
