Question What actually makes an IEM good for competitive Siege?
I've been thinking about how different audio priorities are in Rainbow Six Siege compared to more casual FPS games.
When you're holding an angle or trying to figure out where someone is pushing from, you probably don't need huge bass or cinematic sound. You need consistent information.
A few things seem especially important:
- Footsteps staying distinguishable during gunfire and explosions
- Clear left/right positioning when someone is moving nearby
- Being able to judge movement between floors
- Hearing subtle cues without turning the volume up too high
- Comfort during long ranked sessions
I've been researching FPS-focused IEMs like the kz starbit, which got me wondering how much dedicated gaming tuning really helps in Siege compared to a regular pair of well-tuned IEMs.
Obviously, the game's audio system and map knowledge matter too, especially for vertical sound.
For experienced Siege players, what's made the biggest difference in your setup: better IEMs, EQ adjustments, or simply learning how sound travels through the maps?
