Goodbye to my sweetest girl, Cali
On Tuesday, October 13th, I had to say goodbye to my baby girl. She was 21. She ended up with both diabetes and Kidney disease; a common disease in elder kitties. She got them in the very late stages of her life, and she was doing amazing for about 2 years.
Whether it was the disease, diabetes or even old age, she hung on for as long as she could before she just couldn’t. I told her for years that she could let go, but she fought every time. Even on her last day, she put up a little fight with the vet when they were prepping her.
She went so peacefully. And I couldn’t ask for a better ending.
She was with me for so long. Her 3 weeks and me 16. She was always by my side, always cuddling with me, no matter where I was, went where ever I did. And now my room, and my heart are empty.
But she lived a wonderful life and I know she knew she was loved.
I will miss her, always and forever.
I hope to see you on the other side Cali girl. I love you.

I said goodbye to my 17 year old boy Wednesday night. He was everything to me, and the only thing that has given me some comfort is connecting with this community and knowing I’m not alone.

I'm so sorry you lost your Cali 🧡🖤🫂 Calicos are such special cats. My soulcat was also a calico. She saved me and I saved her. Lost her in 2010 and I still miss her so much

My story is very similar (I just posted it yesterday if you search for Bandit). Bandit passed on the same day and same conditions. I’m so so sorry. I’d like to think Cali and Bandit arrived together and are hanging out, watching our paths cross due to our love for them. ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your wording is totally correct - elder kitten. I have one myself and she’s such an energetic and spry little lady. I hope she makes it to 21 and lives just as good a life
