Where thistles grow and owls rally

In a cozy, small Seattle alley

This year upon the night of devils

Come join our spooky-tinted revels!

"Is there a cost to join the thrill?"

Just tip the band! (and pay your bill)

You bring the fun, we'll bring the power

From 9:00 until the Witching Hour.

It's sure to be a grand affair

We're Raising Slane, we'll see you there!

The bottom of this pic has text

To tell you where we're haunting next*)

(*And lest the accusations fly, 'Twas made with Canva, not A.I.)

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey! We're Trinket, a Seattle-based band looking for a female musician in her mid-to-late 20s to join us!

We're looking for someone who plays bass or guitar, and singing is a welcome bonus!

We've played shows at local venues including Conor Byrne, Blue Moon Tavern, and Skylark, and we practice weekly in Green Lake.

We're hoping to find someone who loves making music, playing live shows, and collaborating with other musicians.

If you're interested or know someone who might be a good fit, send us a message! We'd love to connect.

Exit206 Rant Post

TL;DR: Exit206 oversold an already overcrowded venue, leaving people stuck in line for over an hour just to spend the show packed in like sardines. After posting about caring for the community, releasing another 100 tickets felt like a cash grab at the expense of the people who came to enjoy the music. We left early, and plenty of others seemed to share the same experience.

Exit206 is an EDM group that hosts shows at The Shop in SoDo. I just want to call out what felt like a complete lack of care for the event and the community and see if others had the same experience or if I’m way off base.
The show started at 9pm and my partner and I arrived a little after 10pm, hoping to catch part of the set that was already going and another set scheduled from 10:30-11:30. We spent over an hour in line, caught about 15 minutes of the set we wanted to start our night with, and then spent the rest of our time standing in a box of sardines.
There were way too many people for the space. People trying to move past us to get further away from the stage kept getting stuck, and more people just kept trying to stream in. Exit206 had even posted, in a post that has since been deleted, about how much they cared about the community while announcing an extra 100 tickets released before the show.
That doesn’t feel like caring about the community to me. It feels like a gross cash grab at the expense of the people who showed up to enjoy the music.
We left around midnight after trying to tolerate the situation, and even while waiting for an Uber home, we kept hearing people leaving the venue venting about how overcrowded it was.
Seattle has some great small EDM collectives putting on shows, but based on this experience, Exit206 is not one of them.

30-second song previews from artists playing around town this week, in calendar order.

It's a fun way to discover bands you might not otherwise come across, and maybe find a show worth going to.

Looking to try and make some music connections and friendships

Hi! I’m 23 and I’m currently living in Utah, I plan on moving to Seattle in early 2027 mainly because I have had awful luck with trying to make music connections and friends out here in Utah. I make a very niche style of music (specifically instrumental music like ambient, liminal, and some other electronic stuff) so it’s hard for me to find similar style musicians to connect with. Although I’ve always been open to Making musician friends out here that don’t make similar style music as me also, but because I’m not Mormon I’ve just had an extremely hard time fitting in with majority of the people I have met here in Utah sadly. So I was curious if someone happen to have any recommendations or possible online Seattle music groups I can join to connect with to meet some like minded people just so I can try and start making atleast some connections In some way while I’m waiting to save up enough money to move to Seattle in some months from now! :) thank you!

I Will Record You For Free!

Hey! I'm a Seattle local learning to record bands in commercial studios, and I'm looking to get as much hands-on studio time as possible. I'll record you and your band for free if you cover the studio rental!

Most of my experience so far has been at the Hall of Justice in Ballard, so I'm especially comfortable working there. That said, if you'd prefer to record somewhere else, I'm happy to put in the work to get familiar with a new studio.

Since I'm still learning, I might work a little slower than a more experienced engineer, and there may be a few bumps along the way. That said, I'm passionate about recording good music and committed to doing a good job.

I'm open to all kinds of projects and genres. DM me if you're interested, want to hear more about my experience, or just want to see if we'd be a good fit!

Here’s a pic of me. (I’m learning electric guitar rn) ;) (I’m 20 btw)

Hello peoples!! I’m really looking for people (especially women) interested in starting a band with me. Some inspo I take from is Big Thief, Mazzy Star, and Dazey and the Scouts, Mannequin pussy, Sir Chloe, etc. I love the sound of these bands, and they make me wanna start something of my own. Anyways, PLEASE reply to this post if you’re interested and you’re in the Seattle, Marysville, or Arlington, WA area!!

Ps. I’m new to electric guitar, I’ve been playing off and on for about a year and still learning. I hope that’s not an issue. I mostly want to surround myself with people that want to make music and learn with me too bc I’m very inspired.
