New title tagging rule & Spammers

As some regulars here may have noticed, this subreddit recieves an astronomical amount of spam, both from human as well as bot spammers, for it's relatively small size. Coming from modding various large subreddits, including one that's literally about products, this amount of spam is not normal. Despite a lot of our less agressive attempts to filter out spam (example, filtering out posts that say "for sale", "rent", or "Services") we still get quite a lot that slip by.

[1] [2] [3]

Why is this subreddit getting so much spam? Who knows. ¯\(°_o)/¯

But we will be resorting to the one thing that has worked for various larger communities, like r/food : mandatory title tags.

From now on, all posts will require at least a tag of one of the below:

[Self]
[Found]
[Help]

You may add words to the tags like:

[I found] this chicken carved out of abestos!

or

[Help me] carve a chicken out of abestos

For flexibility, but the bare minimum requirement for post titles will be that it must contain one of those words surrounded by brackets.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to modmail us, or ask here.

I created this in short notice a few years ago for Jack White, I only had two weeks, it had to be fireproof, strong enough to go on tour, have a hollow head for microphone placement. It’s based on an old timey plaster figure he owns, there was no scanning, no 3D printing, all created very quickly by hand.

He took it on tour all over the world, now resides in his house.

Self (Complete) Clay head sculpture - [self] finished

The sculpting is finally complete! The only step left before firing is to hollow out the piece. I'm going to give firing it a try, so fingers crossed everything goes well!

For now, the sculpture is finished. Time to get it ready for the kiln!

I made this sculpture using papier-mâché and painted it with acrylics. I experimented with textures and shades of blue and purple to give it an underwater, almost alien look.

Self (WIP) Clay Head [Self]

A bust I’m currently sculpting without using any references. My initial idea was simply to create a head looking upward, with an ambiguous expression of ecstasy.

I ended up developing it intuitively, without following any particular model or artwork.

I still need to refine the eyes, finish the ears (and maybe adjust their position a little, I’m not sure yet), and work a bit more on the mouth. I’m also debating whether to add hair or leave it as it is.

What do you all think?

Self (WIP) [Self] I created this angel to keep a family's precious memories alive.

A family approached me with an unusual and deeply touching request.
They had lost their little companion, who had been part of their lives for many years. They wanted something more than a memorial — something that would keep the warmth of their love alive.
This became a very special sculpture for me. I created a white metal angel lamp with a personal engraving, hoping its gentle light would bring them comfort.
While creating it, I kept thinking about something…
Perhaps we don’t truly lose those we love. We only lose the ability to hold them close.
And maybe that’s what this angel represents. A light that cannot erase the darkness of loss, but reminds us that love never really disappears. 🤍
