To those who say Jake is a "normie"
Obviously calling Jake a normie jokingly is fun, especially compared to Alex and Adum. However, if you really think he is a normie, I highly suggest you watch Jake's second channel Woman Carrying Man. This is his film review channel that he does with his wife Nadia.
If you want to truly experience what a truly "normie" film perspective is, listen to Nadia's takes on film.
This is in no way bashing Nadia, she seems to be a lovely person and being a normie isn't a bad thing, but when people sincerely call Jake a normie I have to imagine that they are severely out of touch with how the average movie-goer experiences film.

Thoughts on John Waters' The Trash Trilogy?
So, 2026 is the 80th anniversary of birth of John Waters
Because of that, the indie theatre in my country screened these 3 movies for limited time
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it at theatres, but that event made me know the existence of the trash trilogy (I knew "Pink Flamingo" and John Waters, but didn't know "Female Trouble" and "Desperate Living")
So, I am planning on watching it by myself. So, what were your thoughts on this trilogy?
Also, as for Sards rating:
Alex, Adam and previous member Ralph has only seen "Pink Flamingo" (letterboxd rating - Alex 7/10, Adam 6/10, Ralph 8/10)
and none of the Sards (including Jake) have watched or rated "Female Trouble" and "Desperate Living" (For Jake, he didn't watched any of the trash trilogy it seems)

Adam should back his constant "normie" rants up
I want to see him watch a shitload of movies made before 1970, right now what he has logged into IMDB for that is embarrassingly little except for cartoons.
People can call me pretentious but I don't think you can criticize normie movies if you ignore almost half of cinema history because you think it's "homework". You need to do more than just watch some recent foreign movies at TIFF to have any authority on that.

Cosm, a unique experience
I was watching it ( the remake) at the Cosm, I sometimes post movie reviews on here. This was a pretty good experience outside of a normal theater experience and I think the stuff it added to the experience was pretty cool.

Spooky month series discussion in Sardonicast?
It's a web series that Adam loves a lot. I've recently fallen love with it as well, first hearing it from Adam btw.
Don't know if Alex and Jake knows about it, so I'm curious on their opinion as well.
I think both of them would love it as well imo

We must be getting an episode dedicated to The Devils soon, right?
Saw the BFI upscale the other day and not the latest uncut remastered new release thats out globally in cinemas. But holy shit, what an unforgettable film experience regardless! Feels like Russells musical sensibilities is what gives the horror elements of this movie its vibrant and vitalized quality that I haven’t really seen captured before or anywhere else. Like Terry Gilliam or jodorowsky on steroids. The story around the film is so fascinating too along with the Mark Kermode rabbit hole that goes so deep in an equally endearing and fascinating way.
What do you all think?

Has anyone seen this chart for Hope?
I was hoping they'd talk about it on the pod lol. Posted by the production team. Essentially:
J'aur (bone lady): is the empress
Ku'er: emperor who dies on the ship at the end
Kali: they kind of explain this, but the crown prince baby who's dead
Ma'veyyo (Michael Fassbender): a bodyguard for j'aur
Ai'dovor (third younger alien): the babysitter for Kali
Va'migere (the first alien with the long hair): this one was the craziest to me. Apparently they're supposed to be 'kitchen assistants' on the ship
Krusini: (that little alien they find inside the ship): supposed to be Kali's pet
All that to say I didn't pick up on any of this except the dead baby/empress and wanted to post here for any of my fellow #HOPEpillers cos I loved this movie

‘The Beatles’ Biopics is Releasing All Four Movies at Once in 2028.
Personally this has me more intrigued than just another shitty musical biopic like Michael, Sam Mendes is an intersting film maker for this.
It will be funny tho to see which of the band members people like the best by how many go to see each of the movie. I think there is a good possibility that that it would feel like 4 parts of mini series than 4 movies. But it seem intersting.

Is Jake actually a “normie” on the podcast?
I get it’s kinda a running joke since the sinners discussion, but Adam does like to call Jake a normie a lot, not just the fans. Like i feel like its happened many times where Adam will say to Jake “you wouldn’t like it” and Jake says “I do actually like it”. But I have been getting into Jake’s reviews and looking at his Letterboxd and he seems not very “normie” to me? Like his biggest normie sin is maybe loving sinners and the odyssey and then doing a slight retraction as time goes on..but he seems to have a lot of knowledge of pre-70s film, has some opinions against the grain on the typical “normie masterpiece”, and is generally more well read (well watched ?) than the typical movie guy.
Like if he was making video essays about why lady bird or whiplash are the best movies ever, id see why he’s considered a normie…
Ultimately it is a silly distinction that I think is used to denigrate someone’s opinion on popular media and to elevate the accuser’s worldview and also create an “us vs. them” dichotomy in the enjoyment of art.

Petition for more Patreon perks
Currently, there is one tier. The perks are ad-free eps and early access. However, sometimes the episodes are released on the same day that everyone else gets them. That happened today. And if you have an ad-blocker, you don’t get ads anyway.
Paid subscribers should get episodes early if that’s what is promised. I would also pay for a higher tier if there were better perks. Maybe short bonus episodes? Video recordings to go with the audio?
Adding better perks + higher tiers would also mean that we get to support our boys more.
