I did a search on this sub and it seems to have been a couple years since daycare/pre-school were brought up. We've got our first baby on the way, coming to an awesome-town near you early next year, so we're starting our research. Figured I'd bring the topic back up;

We're total noobs on this quest, but are basically wondering if there are any good places to start out a couple days a week and then expand to more if needed. We're prepared for the expense (that much we know) but would love thoughts on value of the local spots. We've heard good things about the Montessoris but we've also heard they are very pricey.

Anyone have great, mid, or bad experiences they want to share? Thanks in advance!

just as the title says. i (27f) moved here a few months ago and i’ve been trying to think of ways to make friends since i don’t have any family or friends out here. it’s difficult to go out bc i wfh monday-friday and im doing an online masters program that eats up a lot of my time. i usually like to spend my free time with my bf but now im just missing girl time. i would love to making girlfriends here but i just dont know where to start.

are there any clubs or websites i should check out? i dont have facebook but should i make one? i love reading, writing, coffee and wine to name a few. i’ve thought about joining a pilates class but im nervous about being out of shape.

making friends as an adult has to be one of the hardest things to do as an adult. any suggestions would be great!

hi hi! living in an apartment in canyon country and our power has been out since this morning. my husband told me it was supposed to come back at 5 o’clock so I was thinking 5 pm but then i read on SCE’s website estimated turn on at 5 am tomorrow morning. we literally just went grocery shopping yesterday and i’m so upset. I think our food in the freezer should be okay but my husband is worried we’re gonna have to completely toss everything in the fridge and freezer. I haven’t had to deal with a power outage for this long with our own apartment, are you guys just tossing everything?

UPDATE: Power came back on a little after 10pm and I checked the fridge right away and it was still super cold! So thankful I don’t need to toss everything 😙
