sandwich Hurt feelings: A Sandwich

2.6k Upvotes

The bullies and buzzkill's were out last week and I got my feeling hurt. Feel like I'm a bit too old and tired to deal with reddit 14yo's and their unsolicited creative direction.  However maybe they have a point, is the format is getting tired, maybe it's time to move on and do something different, whats happening at r/burgers??? Lol. I'm pretty nifty at embroidery?? Collecting mugs and VHS??? I'm sure I could learn a tiktok dance or some shit?? One man Black Sabbath accapellas? Drunken cookery for beginners? Some sultry Nigella Lawson flinger licking action?? What if we all made a sandwich at the same time or compared our work lunches and had a mega chat about it??

I dunno

So, what do you guys think? Is there a way I can mix up the content and still get it to all you lovely people and read all your lovely comments without getting my old man fragile feelings hurt? (They are as fragile as my knees)

I’ve been to Philly and this place is still my favorite steak and cheese. Usually dip it in Queen Majesty scotch bonnet and ginger hot sauce, it’s definitely on my death row meal.

We had some absolutely amazing homemade cheddar garlic sourdough and so the correct thing to do is make a steak sandwich, right?

Onions, mushrooms, provolone and flank steak with some arugula and a sauce with mayo, roasted garlic, herbs, capers and a little dill pickle.

Sloppy but absolutely delicious.

Leftover gyro meat and tzatziki, plus some wine-soaked goat cheese on Italian bread (because we ate all the pita at dinner) became a gyro melt:

This seems to be the thing today. I'll go with my poor man's torta.

Leftover skirt steak asada from last night's tacos. With beans, salsa, lettuce, and mayo on grilled white bread. Looked better than it was. Too many beans. Bread weird.

New sandwich shop opened up recently and thought I'd give this viral one a go. It was delicious, their caesar dressing was a standout for sure

Overall though, as good as it was, I don't know if it was worth the price point. $24 for this (there was another half that I ate before taking a pic) and the wait was nearly 30 mins

sandwich Sardine Sandwiches

Been making open faced sardine (or occasionally smoked oyster) sandwiches for my lunch. Mostly on homemade bread, but sometimes with the local baker's marble rye. Been working on plating.

Bread is 100% whole wheat, homemade, made with baker's yeast. Toasted. Sprinkled with sesame and nigella seeds. Made with cream for extra softness...😋
