ZR5K 5k Training Results
Just finished the ZR 5k training series (been a lurker here during the experience). Wanted to share my results because that was the hardest thing to find, especially with so many more seasoned folks here.
Note: I pushed myself to complete 5k distance each training session, even if it took longer than the mission.
1st 5k (8wks ago): 54:36
Final 5k: 44:01
I went from struggling to jog for more than 30 seconds to jogging for about 7-8min without stopping (albeit slow). When I do start walking, it's no longer due to breathing but due to my legs getting heavy and tired. Also, I lost ~12lbs.
If applicable to anyone considering: I'm in a bigger body ~220lbs. This was very doable and it really helps you build up readiness while being super entertaining. The medical supply run was probably my favorite!
I signed up for the subscription and plan to keep up the progress. I'm also gearing up for my first official 5k in mid-November. Fingers crossed that I get close to or just under 40min!
Downside of program? Had a zombie on my tail while someone passed me jogging...I may have screamed, thinking it was the real deal! But don't let that stop you!
