Any recommendations for a good courier service for a meal prep company in Austin

I work at a small family-owned meal prep company in Austin. Our kitchen is based in Round Rock.

Over the summer, the owners son was doing most of the deliveries. Now he’s back at school, so someone from the family or kitchen has to leave and do the route.

We deliver twice a week and usually have 20+ stops going out at once. Hiring someone full time doesn’t really make sense for the owners right now, so they're looking at courier services instead.

All of the customers are recurring, so some consistency with the drivers would be great too. Same people, same stops, same instructions. I also think the customers would feel better seeing familiar faces instead of a random person every week.

Austin meal prep or food businesses, please recommend a reliable courier service you like or heard of

Thanks!

Early voting at Sleep Inn quick and no lines

Sleep Inn on I-35 in Round Rock is an early voting location that isnt getting the massive lines like at Baca. I voted at Baca and waited over 30 minutes, spouse went a few hours later to Sleep Inn and was in and out in minutes. Lots of neighbors telling me the same.

Round Rock Landscape work

This roughly 31’x8’ area that butts up against the front of our house has always been kind of an eyesore. I would like to hire landscapers to remove what’s there and replace with some relatively easy to maintain, attractive, climate–appropriate plants, shrubs, and flowers as a birthday present for my wife.

The two shrubs at the end might have kind of deep roots, which is why I don’t want to mess with it myself.

Hoping for recommendations

Mom's Bahn Mi - Yum!

Across from dell diamond, cute little food truck. Got the pork Bahn Mi with pate add and the Thai tea. I don't eat out much anymore so I'm not sure if it's ridiculous for a $12 sandwich. The bread was really good as well.

Who are these people outside Jester Annex endorsing candidates?

Whenever I go to vote at Jester Annex on Old Settlers Road there's always some people in the grass median in the parking lot, where all the political signs are, holding up signs of certain candidates. Are they getting paid to do this? Can anyone do this? I don't mind the signs but I don't care for the people endorsing candidates standing around holding up signs. Some of them can be agitators if you're not into their candidate.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN ON GATTIS SCHOOL ROAD! 💔🐾

Today, while visiting my old neighborhood, my fiancé and I witnessed a beautiful German Shepherd walking along Gattis School Road, dragging her leash. We, along with several others, tried desperately to corral her away from the road. As a truck approached, we tried signaling for the driver to slow down, but tragically, the dog was struck. My fiancé and I rushed her to an emergency vet a couple blocks away, but sadly, she passed just after arrival.

I’m not trying to place blame, but as a reminder of how quickly tragedy can happen. Please slow down and avoid distractions.

If the owner of this sweet girl sees this, please know that we did everything we could to save your girl and she was not alone. From one German Shepherd owner to another, my thoughts and prayers are with you❤️

Best Basketball Runs Nearby?

I just moved into Round Rock recently and have been looking for some pick up games in the area. Mainly I have been going to the Round Rock Multipurpose Center, but whenever I go, it is usually empty, with no games going on. Does anyone know the times and places where there are some decent basketball runs? (Preferably for free)

Any ladies use this doctor?

I’m moving to North Austin soon and wondering if anyone can give input, positive or negative, about Dr. Jayme Evans, D.O., practicing at ARC in Cedar Park. I prefer a D.O. personally, and want a gynecologist who provides menopause treatment, and her website info says she does. Thanks in advance for any sharing you do!

Voted with the skeleton crew today - annex

Went out to vote today and realized I was the youngest person in line by a solid few decades and I’m in my 30s.

I’m talking people in their 80s, some in wheelchairs, others using walkers, all showing up to cast their votes.

Honestly, it was impressive to see, but it also made me wonder: Where are all the younger voters?

If people in their 80s can make it to the polls, we can too.

Get out there, Round Rock! Early voting is underway. 🗳️

Funny thing happened at jester annex

Went into early vote about 45 minutes ago just got out now. Was moving pretty quickly getting checked in and voted. Then we were stopped and waiting in our ballot drop off line. So basically the ballot box was full and because it was full it wasn't taking in any more ballots. On the ground was the sheriff and a volunteer opening the ballot box up taking all the ballots out manually and sorting them. I don't know where they were going to go what they were doing with them what the process for this was so there was an election protection volunteer outside. I let her know and she was calling it in. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up. Never seen anything like that before.

Also, the stickers are so beautiful this year they let me take two.

Round Rock Teen Reportedly Attacked While Walking Dog: An Unusual Story with Odd Details

Thumbnail kxan.com
7 Upvotes

I came across this KXAN story about a teenager who was reportedly attacked while walking a dog in RR.

What caught my attention wasn't necessarily the attack itself but how many details seem to be missing or unexplained.

A few things stood out:

  • The dog: The teenager was reportedly walking a dog when the incident occurred but there's little information about what type of dog and happened to the dog. Also, an unfamiliar dog could react aggressively or attempt to protect its owner which could make the situation potentially dangerous for the attacker. It seems like an odd risk to take during an apparently unprovoked assault. The teenager also appears to return home without it in the video.
  • The reported eye gouging: The teenager described an attempt to gouge their eyes yet the footage shown doesn't appear to reveal obvious injuries around the eyes in the doorbell camera and interview.
  • The knee brace: The teenager appears to run back to the house without an obvious limp in the video but is later seen walking slowly with a knee brace during the interview.
  • The alleged attacker: There's also surveillance footage showing the alleged attacker casually jogging through the neighborhood which adds another interesting element to the story.

Obviously a short news segment doesn't tell the entire story and injuries aren't always immediately visible. The reporting leaves quite a few unanswered questions. It's an unusual story and I'm surprised there hasn't been more detailed reporting or follow-up information.

Does anyone else have any info on this story? Because as it stands there are details that seem unusual.
