How to join the Riftshock beta (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) and where to send feedback
Hey everyone, welcome to r/Riftshock! My name is Chris and I'm the lead designer/programmer of the game. Riftshock is a neon twin-stick arena shooter for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple silicon Macs, and it comes out December 10 for $4.99. You can play with your thumbs or with a controller.
The beta is free, and it's the whole game. On top of that, the Gauntlet is open from the start, which is every boss and mini-boss back to back against the clock. In the full game you have to beat Endless to unlock it, so enjoy the head start.
To join, open this link on your iPhone or iPad (you'll need iOS 26 or later):
https://testflight.apple.com/join/ve7jdR4V
For Apple TV, join on your iPhone first and then grab it in TestFlight on the TV, signed in to the same Apple Account.
The easiest way to send feedback is the FEEDBACK button on the title screen. It opens a quick form that fills in your build and device for you, and you can attach a replay or your play log. If a death ever feels cheap, you can send me that exact run from its replay with SEND TO THE DEVELOPER. TestFlight's own screenshot feedback works too, and you can always post here with the Bug, Feedback, Score or Question flair.
If you have time, play a few Endless runs before you jump into the Gauntlet. What I'd really love to hear about is your first five minutes, especially anything that didn't make sense or felt unfair. The known issues are pinned right next to this post.
If you have any questions for us, please don't hesitate to ask. And we would love for you to pass the link along to your friends if you think they would enjoy the game.
Thanks everyone!

Known issues in the current beta (read before reporting)
Thanks for testing Riftshock! This is everything we already know about in the current build. If you hit something that isn't on here, tap FEEDBACK on the title screen (it fills in your build and device for you) or make a post here with the Bug flair.
Joining and devices
- You'll need iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or tvOS 26 or later.
- For Apple TV, join with the link on your iPhone first, then open TestFlight on the TV signed in to the same Apple Account.
- With just the Siri Remote, Apple TV can only play Rodeo and Fault Lines. Every other mode has a gun to aim, so you'll want a game controller for those.
- The iPad version runs on Apple silicon Macs. WASD moves, the arrow keys aim, E throws the Rift, hold Q to Surge and P pauses. With a mouse or trackpad you aim at the pointer and hold the button to fire, and right-click throws the Rift (hold it to Surge).
Scores
- The leaderboards are test boards for now, so Game Center will say they're "not yet live". Beta scores won't carry over to the real boards at launch, so play for fun and for bragging rights here (post them with the Score flair).
Replays and saved runs
- Replays from an older build are a bit experimental. If nothing in that mode has changed since, they play fine. If something has, TRY ANYWAY plays the replay up to the point where the game changed, which is sometimes only a few seconds in.
- A run you saved in an older build might not resume in a new one. It'll say SAVED BY ANOTHER VERSION · CAN'T BE RESUMED and all you can do is remove it. Sorry about that one.
The tutorial
- The first time something comes up (each mode, your Rift and Surge meters, getting hit, losing a life, your first mini-boss) a short card pauses the run until you tap OK. Each one only shows once, and Replay tutorial in Settings brings them all back.
- Coaching tips for each new enemy are off by default. You can turn them on in Settings if you want them.
Balance is still moving
- We're tuning bosses and mini-bosses every build. The Eclipse (wave 40 in Endless, and one of the two bosses that can end an Expedition) is the toughest early fight right now, so tell us how it went for you.
- Expedition picks its mini-bosses at random, so you can get a really hard one early. We're working on that.
- Let us know if Blitz's pace feels right to you.
Sound
- If your sound effects go quiet after a phone call, tell us what you were doing when the call came in.
Reporting a bug
- FEEDBACK on the title screen, or riftshock.com/feedback/ (you can attach a replay or your play log there).
- The fastest way is to watch the replay of the run, tap Share, then SEND TO THE DEVELOPER. That sends us the run and your play log with your build and device, so we can see exactly what happened.
- Screenshots and screen recordings help a ton too.
We'll keep this post up to date as things get fixed and new reports come in.
