Free service for finding a room in Revelstoke
Hey everyone. I lived in Revy for about two years, worked at the Regent, and honestly the worst part of the whole thing was finding somewhere to live. Every season was the same: refreshing the Facebook group constantly, commenting “interested!!” on a post that already had 60 replies, then getting DMs from scammers wanting an e-transfer for a place that didn’t exist.
So I built revyrooms.com to try and make it less painful.
To be clear up front, this isn’t a business. It’s free, there are no ads, and I’m not making any money from it. I’m a student back in the UK now and I just wanted to make something that would’ve helped me when I was there.
Basically, you can set up alerts so you get a heads up when a room comes up instead of checking Facebook 40 times a day. There’s a short quiz about how you live (tidy or not, quiet or social, that sort of thing) and it gives you a match score with places and flatmates, so you have some idea whether you’ll get on before you move in. Listings that have been checked on a video call get a “seen on video” badge, so you know they’re real. There’s also a page with what rooms actually go for in town, so you know if you’re being ripped off, plus guides on the different areas and on spotting scams, which is mostly for people coming over on working holiday visas who can’t see a place first.
It only really works if people use it, so if you’re looking this winter give it a go, and if you’ve got a room coming up please chuck it on there too.
Would genuinely love feedback. What’s been the worst bit of looking for a place here, and what would actually help?

Mount begbie
Hey some of my friends and I (6 total) want to summit mount begbie I’ve done climbing and technical mounteering before but not some of my friends we were wondering if there were a way to avoid the rappelling off the mountain since one girl hasn’t done that before. She just hikes and does winter hikes.
Thanks.

Moving To Revelstoke 2026 (as a couple)
Hey,
Me and my partner recently moved to Calgary - and have been thinking once our tenancy is up next year of moving out towards the Mountains (Revy etc) and I had a few questions.
I have seen some threads from years ago but can't find much from recent.
We are both in our late 20's and happy with whatever work as long as it pays the bills, she is currently a psychologist and I am working in a Ski retail store but both have retail and hospitality background so no problems jumping around careers.
What are housing prices at the moment? Is it feasible to live just the two of us or should we be ready to look more for House shares? Whats the work market like, i.e is there work going? will it cover rent is it a case of needing multiple jobs just to get by?
We have a car and everything else sorted but wanted to get peoples opinions before we look to deeply into anything.
Appreciate the help, and if this has been posted somewhere already I will gladly remove! Maybe I just didnt look deep enough.

Stinkbugs
I’m not from here, but I’m spending a few days in Revelstoke and I’ve never seen so many stinkbugs in my life. Literal swarms of them here on my hotel balcony.
Just curious is it always like this? Just at this time of year?

New to Revelstoke looking for housing in the coming months
I've been looking at trailers for sale in the area, as a house here is definitely out of my price range at the moment.
I've noticed a few for sale at 318 Humbert, I'm just wondering if there's a reason so many are going up for sale, and if it would be a good idea to buy a place there.
Also, if any of you have any pet friendly long term rentals available or coming up, I'd appreciate it if you would send them my way

thinking about doing a working holiday in revelstoke or similar mountain towns
I am going to arrive hopefully in Canada around august next year to try make it easier to get housing.
Is it realistic to exepct to be able to get a sharehouse in revelstoke or do people mostly get housing outside of town?
also looking at fernie, banff, jasper, and silverstar.
Looking for decent but not crazy party nightlife, nice small town vibes and a good community.
Any tips or recs?

We just arrived in Revelstoke and have been eaten alive by mosquitoes. Where is open that we could buy anti-itch cream? Thanks in advance.

Mtn Credit @ Discount
I’ve got $409.50 CAD in Revy credit from last yr when it froze over completely. Would love to part with it for like $100 off rather than plan a whole trip back. DM me if interested?

Enchanted Forest: Salem Oregon vs Revelstoke?
Has anyone ever noticed the similarities between the Enchanted Forest in Revelstoke, and the Enchanted Forest in Salem Oregon?
It's interesting because they are strikingly similar (in theme and construction, both being hand built with cement, featuring fairy tale stories), but the Oregon park started construction 4 years after the Revelstoke park opened.
It's like the Oregon park took a lot of liberties in getting "inspiration" from the Revelstoke one. It looks like they copied both entrances being a castle, each nursery rhyme have a distinct scene with the main rhyme on a plaque, they even have the same "There was an old lady who lived in a shoe" that kids can enter on the side with corresponding slide, as well as many other similarities!
It's a little too coincidental in my opinion, and I was wondering if anyone has made a similar connection before or has any other info about it.

Bachelor Party
Hi all. There are 6 of us who have rented out a place in downtown revy for a weekend at the end of September. It’s a little in between seasons for some of the Revy attractions. But I was hoping to maybe get a few ideas for day time activities. (Even some good night time ones if you have them!)
Thanks in advance!

Fishing
Hi, came from Sask and will be in the area for a few days. I see September there's no fishing streams, rivers etc. but what about lakes and offshore fishing? Can you fish Begbie ? Thanks 🙏🏻

Trivia nights in Revy
A friend and I are in town this week, leaving Friday morning, 9/4.
We’d love to play trivia and cut up with some folks one night.
We’ve heard about Rumpus and The Legion but not sure which nights and if they’re still doing it during the summer.

2026/27 Winter employment!
Hello, looking for some advice on getting employment for the up coming winter season, my partner and I are coming to Revelstoke from Australia in November/December.
We have experience in retail/cafe/bar/hotel work as we have done seasons previously, our current employment is disability support work and an Arborist.
Is it best applying on RMR jobs posted, or emailing cafes/retail places directly? Finding it a bit overwhelming trying to organise it all plus finding accommodation.
Any advice, leads on accommodation/employment or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
