Hi, I have a 3 years career break. I have some health issues due to which I had to leave jobs. I have an experience working in digital marketing agency. This year, in September I did a Google certificate course in project management. I want to start career in this field. Is there any hope for me with such background? If yes, please share some tips on how can i start my career again. I am open to paid internships. I live in India.

I stopped relying only on LinkedIn and started finding recruiters through Google Maps

After months of applying through LinkedIn with very little to show for it, I started looking for recruitment agencies directly instead of waiting for job posts to find me.

My process was simple:

1. Pick a country, city, or region where I am legally able to work.

2. Search Google Maps for terms like “recruitment agency,” “IT recruitment,” or a more specific industry keyword.

3. Visit the agency’s website and check whether they accept CVs or have relevant vacancies.

4. Keep a spreadsheet with the agency name, website, role focus, date contacted, and follow-up date.

5. Send a short, customized message instead of a generic mass email.

This approach does not guarantee a job, but it helped me discover companies and recruiters I would never have found through the usual job boards.

Has anyone else used Google Maps or local business directories to find recruiters? What search terms worked for your industry?

Note: Please verify that every agency is legitimate before sharing personal information, and avoid sending the same CV blindly to hundreds of places.
